if she went into trot and canter so much troughout the course why did you let her? you cant let a horse get away with stuff or they will just keep doing it.
it cant just be the horse. horse and rider must have an partnership. you cant just go and get a horse and it does eve3rything the rider has just as big of a part to play then the horse. so its not just the horse. dont blame the horse and i dont think thats your worst round ever that was quite good
you need alot more leg to keep this pony going forward , just remember jumping is just flat work with sticks in the way. you need to work on keeping him cantering .
@walforem No, this course is designed awfully which is why she transitioned from trot/canter quite a bit. If you watch carefully, you will see that she asked for the trot at each turn as the horse had the wrong canter lead and then asked for the canter again. She rode this course great considering the poor layout.

you definitely didn't have a bad round. you look very good and focusing a lot on your horse, the arena, and the jumps. You may have just felt like you were focusing on too much, relax a little more :) After all riding is supposed to be fun. I think that spunky horse you were riding would do great on a X-country course for him/her being so forward. ;)
@thetodds123 Do you use a crop with your pony? If not try using it for jumping. Also try taking the the jumps from a shorter line so that your horse doesn't have enough time to think about refusing.
there is nothing wrong with this except for the rail and you trotted in every corner for a lead change... that is going to slow you down big time in the jumpers
in the future when you go to change leads dont post. you should be trying to transition as quickly as possible, so get them down to the trot and then canter right off, no posting
i don't care if you said you dont want advice. My advice to you, it to tell the person who was filming this to get lessons on filming people. they didnt even film you over the jumps. Couldn't even see how "bad" you were.
It wasn't bad, but i noticed one or two times where you were pulling his head back towards the jump which could cause problems, but your position is great and you've got a brilliant partnership with your horse!
You need to cue your horse into the correct lead though!! You shouldn't have to break down into a trot after you should have switched leads several strides back! :)
@zoobihan "It's not the rider that makes mistakes, it's the horse" I feel bad for your horse if you blame every single thing on him. I know when I did something wrong, and I know when my horse did something wrong, and even though my horse is stubborn and sometimes pretty aunry I don't blame every little thing on him because I KNOW that I made the mistake, not him. Horses make mistakes yes, but riders make mistakes too. It pisses me off when people say things like that.
@HowwCool not necisserily, the rider could be doing a perfectly good job directing the horse, but the horse could refuse to jump, or just be lazy... but i see what your saying.
all i can see worng is that your hands are flappign about and being hold the worng way so then the horse doesnt understand what you wnat him/she to do and push down on your heels but you are a really good rider all of the points i just told you about are ocmmon things and my mom is always telling me that !!! My pony is called merlin a little 11.2h exmoor very naughty and cheecky xx
u look really good, the only problem i could see was that your hands were being held the way they are when the horse is being trained, but i don't know maybe it is green and you meant to do that, if not just remember to keep your hands close together, thumbs on top, otherwise really good. those are also the coolest jumps i've ever seen, they're so colorful, i wish the barn i ride at had jumps as cool as those!!
your course doesnt look that bad. you have a solid leg. it looks like the horse is still somewhat green after the fences. and all you have to do is bend a little more at the hip. other than that you looked really good. :]
now that video title needs a change hun, that was a good jump course ridden well I mean you may of only knocked down one but hey no ones a perfect rider! Ive seen worse trust me looks like you need confidence in believing your a good rider! Muchloves xx

How many people are in the class? I think it's not safe to have more than three riders in such a small arena! I only do class with one other person and every other week I do my own lesson
@Chipisdabest9 Have you ever been in a warm up ring at a show? There'd be about ten people at least in there if that was a show. I've shared a ring with about 15 people while trying to do a warmup course while 2 other horses were a couple jumps ahead of me.
Id say its important to practice at home for that so you get used to it and don't freak out at a show.
But private lessons are nice to have to :), wish I had more of them. haha
personally i didnt think you looked to bad going around that. i mean that is what lessons are for (i presume it was a lesson) to imporove your riding and let things go wrong so you know what to do in the real situation. your horse is lovely by the way :)
That does NOT beat my worst course at all! I had a lesson today and the horse refused one jump twice, then another jump twice that had gone over for warm-up just from the other direction!! Goodness that was a crazy lesson....
u didn't do that bad, it's just that you have to remember the coarse and stop looking around so much because it makes the horse nervous. Although you ARE supposed to look at the next jump and count strides. also if you look around not only will your horse get nervous about where to go but you are trained to look where you're going next so you're ready and when you look where you want to go your horse will try to go in that direction and you'll end up either swerving or missing the jump! :-) <3
This isnt THAT bad! u've just got 2 keep ur leg on!

Thats not even that bad.You messed up one!!!!!!!
CrazyHorseLover1225 10 months ago
That does NOT beat my worst course at all! I had a lesson today and the horse refused one jump twice, then another jump twice that had gone over for warm-up just from the other direction!! Goodness that was a crazy lesson....

your not bad but that pony was in pain, you can see by the way he cranks his tail before a jump
RacingLilies 11 months ago
@RacingLilies I wouldnt say he's in pain, i'd say more unbalanced. Tails can sometimes mean excitement too.
erynschmeryn829 11 months ago
@erynschmeryn829 yes, they can mean excitement, I would just keep an eye on it, because the last thing you want is a sour pony lol,

I hate it when people have the urge to give advice on every single horse video.

really pretty horse
dinosaurz456 11 months ago
u didn't do that bad, it's just that you have to remember the coarse and stop looking around so much because it makes the horse nervous. Although you ARE supposed to look at the next jump and count strides. also if you look around not only will your horse get nervous about where to go but you are trained to look where you're going next so you're ready and when you look where you want to go your horse will try to go in that direction and you'll end up either swerving or missing the jump! :-) <3
