And people still think Franz Lehar is second "fiddle" to Strauss?
Let them just listen to this a time or two......
There may be better orchestras than Andre Rieu's, (I counted 3...) but how many have made such an effort to keep the blood flowing in all the really fabulous pieces we'd never hear otherwise? (I counted.......what's before one?)
WARNING: Do not criticize Andre Rieu in my channel. He might not be the best voilinist, nor are you. Enjoy the music or LEAVE! Negative comments will be removed and will be blocked. You have been WARNED!
Andre Rieu, brings the best classical pieces to the crowds with his numerous music tours. He had bring passion and tears to everyone including famous political figures, artistes, actors.....His audience consists 5yrs old baby to 90yrs old. He is indeed, a celebrated musician ever lived!
@kendconcerto Apart from agreeing with every word you said, one only has to look, to see the enormous enjoyment his audiences experience. They join in and are a fundamental part of the extraordinary atmosphere he creates To induce that is talent indeed. The ability to inject "fun" into his concerts is a gift. Andre Rieu is gifted
@wetering777 On the contrary. I consider myself a music lover, and I have nothing against Mr Rieu. Stop being immature, just because he's bringing music to the masses doesn't mean he'd hurting anything or anyone.
I think Andre is fabulous and loved by millions . He makes people happy and that is a whole lot more than the old stuffy fuddy duddies can do. Boring in the extreme. Who would listen to them anyhow when we have Andre Rieu!!!
This brings back memories of visiting Vienna and attending open air concerts there while serving in the Army during the occupation after World War II in Germany. It was a bitter-sweet time – kind of like this music.
@frankjopie funny you mention performing arts...while I'm not world renown, or have studied in great halls of learning such as you [/sarcasm] I recognize that even 'horrible and CHEAP (please learn to spell)' players such as this man bring SOME semblance of culture to an otherwise culturally devoid generation who's primary 'music' is rap, rock, ect. While I like those too, I at least see the benefit this man is bringing to the 'culturally illiterate mob' -_-
Bellinari, Komárno is town in Slovak republic. And Austria-Hungary icluded Slovakia, Czech rep and many other states of today. Doesnt matter if Lehar was Slovkian, Humgarian, Austrian or Czech or.... , he was great composer and it is the most inportant.
@anothersexyguy - Ferenc Lahar was HUNGARIAN. He lived during the years of the Austro Hungarian empire when everything was germanised.
Check the background information and get some knowledge before you send a posting. Your chosen name by the way, does not suggest deep intellectual substance...
@Acquincum - do not judge people by their nickname :) but I appologize for my mistake. If I type ferenz lehar in slovene google it finds only franz lehar.... but nevertheless - I find it wrong to claim composers and other artists by their national background (and I do not support germanization) - music is gorgeous whithout knowing any of that information!
thats so very... helpful... im a musician, but that doesnt help me tell you what it is... you remember what instruments or anything like that at least?
I can never stop at any given time. Should listen to it over and over! Beautiful music that keeps me haunted. Good wishes to Andre from Sri Lanka, and God Bless you!!!
This is the kind of music the world needs to keep it happy. Bravoo Andre Rieu You fascinate me with your music and the way you play yor violin. Love from Malta
