You make some of the most under appreciated videos on YouTube. I truly hope you do not judge the success of your videos by the number of views they receive but rather by what they mean to the people who do view them.
I love how U continue 2 explore within this genre. Ur videos continue 2 be unique, yet they also continue 2 have ur unmistakable stamp. It is such a joy 2 watch an artist experiment, grow, have fun...all while creating true gems.
I honestly feel blessed 2 have known you throw this journey of urs, & feel honored 2 have been able 2 watch it all unfold.
And I also look forward 2 the road ahead.
U never cease 2 inspire, & this double feature is no exception. Simple, poignant & truly artful. *hug*
wow, ,, music ,,,, goes together like honey and tea,,,,,,i love the adventure them,,, spending time with my kids, feeling the joy of exploring, becoming( or remembering) being the eternal child, i love bridges,,such a beautifull metaphor, walking with your child, not concerned about what anyones is thinking, dancing through the day,,,,, what gems our children are,,,,what wonderfull mirrors they can be, and inspiring!,,,,, great relationship of film and music,,, ,,very sunshiny and smily nice,,,,
good art is sumthin you can come back to and get sumthin out of it, everytime. perfect song, perfect player, perfect vid,, just too sweet. how anyone could not get this, i just dont understand,, course, it took me a couple times,,HAH,anyway, so lovely. so lovely. 5 stars is redundant with this kind of thing. i am wondering if youtube will ever get rid of (competition and art do not mix as far as i am concerned) the stars thing. oh well. we are waiting for the next vid dear.
Lovely work. Olive is like a younger version of you in this movie- like flipping back and forth into the past and present. I like that the video is not too scary when you lose Olive for a minute (any mother's worst fear!). I'm glad you didn't bring out the skeleton mask to carry her away into the moonlight or something!
Aaaaah....the contrasts within so much of your work, always stirring and mixing the ineffable with concise thought, I believe you speak to and for every artist, Caren. Were I a professor of art, your vlogs and vids would be mandatory viewing for the course. As I anticipate each piece, my heart is in your hand.
Olive is wonderful. The music, too.
Thank you for sharing these, along with your soul, dear friend.
I liked the bridge shot too but I was enchanted by the 'window' scenes. For me, it was that scene which added beauty by giving a glimpse of a relationship. The little girl is gorgeous. I liked the music too.
we are delighted that you make a practice of making the best thing you can from what you have. this is startin to get really good. loved the bridge shot. wait till she starts telling you how smart she is and then telling you what you should do!.. j in k
please tell Olive that she is amazing one extra time today.
your videos are incredible. I love the way you are able to share thoughts and dreams where most of the time such things are left hidden and unspoken of.
Wonderful imagery. Some very nice dancing (feeling the moment), and some intriguing feelings you played out with both the worries of a parent & the awe, curiosity, and amazement it is to be a child...
On a quick side note: I think I see a lot of curiosity and energy in that little one. I think you'll have your hands full her. ^_^
Well, part one really is less dream more every parent's nightmare, though, :) it had a happy ending. I loved part two, & to paraphrase, the Olive/apple landed very close to the tree. I like the reflection play. Exit only- like that's a building you'd ever want to be in. Kids really do reflect their parents, but no worries- no carbon copy- Olive has her own moves.
Something truly beautiful to watch!and olive did agreat job filming and acting:)i loved the scene of you both against the glass doors, while i realised that you wanted to portray the relationship between mother and child,i also thought that it was like watching you in different ages, yourself through the years(olive looks so much like you:))be well:)
Simply Marvelous! Oh, all the fantastic videos you and Olive will be making together it gives me the goose bumps. I am glad you are my friend and I get to watch you two creating beautiful films together. Amazing. Faved, five stars.
I am not very good with using words to express myself. But the part where it says "exit only" on the window really was profound to me. Life can only go one way and that is forward. Your art made is the best!
another moving, stunning video... that little olive! she's blossoming, and so talented!... testimony to how a loved and lovely child can flourish. the two of you dancing is impossibly beautiful and ach, the whole piece- ach! superb. bravo bravo bravo to all the artists involved
Wonderful video. Olive has a taltent as do you for doing these fantastic video, I will go check out your friends music, they sound very lovely. Thanks for a lovely wake video.
Look at all that vegitation! We don't even have leaves on our trees yet up here. Sucks beiing so close to the arctic circle.
Now, I have to ask you, were there people in that building when the two of you started dancing and striking poses in front of it? If so, I would have loved to see the reactions of the people inside.
Did you know that Jaws was most acclaimed for the 'absense' of the shark. They said it was a brilliant move of Spielberg. Fact was his mechanical shark was rusted solid so he could not get enough footage to use in editing.
Same here. You made a perfect video with what you got and that is just perfect.
Lovely once again Caren. If you think you could do better than this, spare a thought for those of us who do so much worse than you!!! It's beautiful and Olive is a star.
each peice of art is a stepping stone for the next peice, for us and each other. nice steps. Olive is growing UP so fast. cool shadow dancing you 2. I can hear why ya got inspired. I really like the heart artwork ALLOT.
this is just beautiful ... & olive is so gorgeous ... she seems so ... centered ... i love the dancing in front of the windows part ... i wonder why we stop doing that? i think we should all dance in front of windows ... xoxo

So amazingly beautiful, Caren.
These videos, especially the ones with Olive I can see on any children's morning program.
At times, Sesame Street, will feature a piece such as this. Mother and daughter having fun posing in front of windows.
All your work could easily be on TV, but its too sophisticated and artistic for most channels, maybe PBS.

Caren what a special moving piece!:-)
I could of just started tearing up with the thought of my little one gone missing!:-(
The music sure was beautiful as it went together side by side with both you!:-)
My wife doesn't know how to hit the record button let alone hold it still on a Tri-pod for me!:-(
I love reading too how you were inspired too make this, but improving this is impossible I say as it's an artists dream!:-)
Congrats on Olives first Camera work too! :-)
