  • 1 person purchased sega genesis and missed out on this great song.

  • @CamaroSS2236 I'm torn between disliking this video because that is true for me, but I really love this song now that I've heard it. lol

  • same here

  • Oh...so THIS is what my childhood sounds like...

  • Even my Mom loves this tune. Donkey Kong FTW

  • Not only DKC was ahead of its time but so do Dreamcast, that makes me really sad.

  • Great!!

  • who knew the sounds of digging in a mine could get a dance club treatment? this song seriously kicks ass in both its beat and composition

  • haha, oh < 3

i just get Donkey kong counrty RETURNS.

and then i search at the original theme song.

    it's really a diferrence..

and.. DK look so... creepy D:

  • King K. Rool dislikes David Wise's masterpieces

  • @NewPhoenixFilms Including Gang-Plank Galleon?

    ...

  • @MattDragoran K.Rool made that himself. Maybe that's why he disliked David Wise and his musical awesome sauce.

  • Does anyone else find this track beautiful and sad?

  • @TheBlackStar999 Yes, both.

  • David Wise is the man ! :)

  • I love this soundtrack from the game and i can hear it in my head because it is relaxing :) <3 Does this soundtrack appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns ?

  • @lalaxbo Yes it does and the new version is excellent. Search for Life in the Mines Returns and enjoy.

  • @zrobeast Thx :) I have just heard it and it was perfect ! :D

  • It would be more satisfying if not Kong was piercing my soul with his staring. otherwise chill cool soundtrack

  • Rare should do a remake for the wii u. I think that would be a very nice thing if they ever did that. Best remake in history.

  • @RaidensPain They need to but this time, they need to keep these melancholic song like they were...Sadly they are not allowed to use kremlin anymore...

  • The best videogame soundtrack EVER

  • My association with it is DKC last level before final boss.

  • This song always sounded so sexy to me. XD

  • 1 gay guy doesn't like the song

  • @TrustedMind I'm gay and I like the song

  • @thisisntagoodname I'm very sorry if I've hurt you, but the fact is that the song is too beautiful for press dislike button. I've two gay friends, is not correct to write that, from now on I will write " 1 stupid asshole" XD . Thank for your comment, friend! Bye!

  • @TrustedMind No no you did nothing wrong, I'm of the mindset that it's okay to say things are gay even if it's in inanimate object. I have a bunch of gay friends who do it as well.

If the sentence was followed by something like "I hate fags and they should all die of AIDS" would be a much different story. XD

  • 1 gay guy

  • @TrustedMind You mean 1 Sony fanboy

  • @nintendo1889x i would probly say xbox 360 fanboy since sony and nintedo fans have never really fought over which console of does is the best they just enjoy whatever console they choose atleast i have never had any friends who have fought over that reason

  • they made an actual soundtrack? ooh. did they make one for any of the other games too?

  • @Rainshadowgirl You bet they did, I have the Soundtrack for DKC3 brand new and sealed. I intend to keep it that way for a long time. The Soundtrack for DKC2 is by far the hardest to get. Even though all of these songs are downloadable, nothing beats having a collectors piece of something as amazing as these songs on original Nintendo released material.

  • I used to kill my character on purpose just to hear this song again.

  • 1:09

  • first bit sounds like it could be the beginning to a killer instinct track lol. well, thats Rare as well isnt it

  • this song brings back memories i sure miss playing dkc

  • Life in the Minecraft

  • 1:11 nostaaaaalgic

  • Man I love this theme

  • i don't just listen to this song, i FEEL it. great respect to not only dave wise "allthough he deserves it" but all the employees of rare who made such wonderfull games with even better soundtracks

  • I HATE WHEN THE FUEL GOT EMPTY AND YOU DIED!

  • this one leads me to another level... *_*

  • *falls into hole*

    awh, damn it!

  • David Wise deserves respect at it's most. No person can do a better job than his and 'nuff said

  • @JLMBfreafin heh, there are so many great video game composers. David Wise is one of them, that's for sure.

  • @kdreamland David Wise is my favorite, there's a huge nostalgia factor for it and just the fact that he basically made ALL the songs from DKC 1 and 2 (of course on DKC1 there were some from Eveline, that were one of the best of that game too), but just looking at his work on DKC2, it's just mythical!

  • @JLMBfreafin he did help with the DKC3 songs as well. I like them, even if a lot of people don't. And he was also the inspiration for the DKL songs, which are very good as well.

  • @kdreamland He did, but not as many as he did in DKC1 and 2

  • @JLMBfreafin He did make the entire St for the gba

  • good song :D

  • 0:27-0:54 just pure magical mystery

  • You are now hearing Sting sing over this.

  • LMAO looks like diddy kong is wearing pampers

  • Levels this played on:

    Winky's Walkway

    Trick Track Trek

    Tanked Up Trouble

    Platform Perils

  • @DullBones Oh gosh, Platform Perils was the hardest level of them all!

  • We remember this music before of two words : Platform Perils!

  • this would fit better in a more climactic part of the game like pre or post final battle

  • nice image of the OST Album ^^ and tyvm for the link with all playlist you rulz dude !!

    DKC RETURNS SOON WOOOOT

  • the best song of the sagas! =´´´)

    what a great games

  • This theme is dedicated to the Chilean miners.

  • @CitizenDick1

    FUERZA CHILE!!

    :D

  • @CitizenDick1 LOL!

  • @CitizenDick1 Nice thought but what about the Russian miners who did not survive many years earlier?

  • when i played the first time DKC on my Nintendo i just pause the game to listen thes song, is so epic and still so fresh after all of this years, this is an incontestable an all time classic !!!

  • I miss the fucking 90s : (

  • When Rare left Nintendo, it lost all its good employees, and began its decline into the horrible Fail it is today. :( retro Studios may have helped to put Metroid on the map again, but Metroid could only get better. With games like these, Retro's got a lot to live up to..

  • @NemmyLadyZombie Agreed, Donkey Kong Country Returns isn't expected to be a sort of cop-out like (IMO) NSMB was. Although I think it will hopefully turn out well Nintendo does seem to be treating it like high quality money crop. I mean it makes more sense to make it a sidescroller than say they are with Kirby's Epic Yarn, but not only have they not attempted to duplicate the art style from the original DKC games, but they didn't even get the now-freelance composer of the original DKC games. WHY?

  • @Palmerifics O_O

HE'S FREELANCE NOW!?!?! NINTENDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! *rage* ><

  • @NemmyLadyZombie he says he's working on a project, but he's sworn to secrecy. Who knows? maybe he is working on the soundtrack for the new donkey kong country returns!

  • @92AdrianB It pains me to say this, but Kenji Yamamoto (best known from his work with Metroid series) is composing the music for DKCR. Don't get me wrong, Yamamoto is an awesome composer, but Wise and Fischer were the soul of DKC.

  • @PeyserConley

Wise left Rare a long time ago anyway.

  • @Flash11I19 Well, DKCR is made by Retro Studios, not Rare. So as a freelancer, Wise could've taken the job if he had been offered it.

  • @Flash11I19 But he's memorable regardless. David Wise resigned from Rare on October 30th, 2009... Mr. Wise, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for these musical memories.

  • @Flash11I19 David Wise left after Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts was finished, and so did Grant Kirkhope.

  • @KyubiStewie

Why the fuck is everyone telling me that when I pointed it out myself one month ago in the previous page?

  • @Palmerifics bright side? the composer, if i've heard correctly, is remixing the original tunes from the SNES games, and the main theme remix i've heard, it's great.

although i agree about the art style, the pre-rendered 3d, low quality though it was, gave the whole thing this nice claymation feeling.

  • @CirqueDuFreak2000 I would personally rather have some new tunes opposed to some nice rehashes, but I'm sure the composer will do a great job of it nonetheless.

Yeah the original art style was so unique, and it had some nice "golden" lighting effects, I hope they duplicate that more in DKCR (I love what they're doing with the silhouette levels.) Still, since this game is supposed to be about a vast variety of quirky, high-quality character animations, I'm looking forward to that.

  • @NemmyLadyZombie Now that David Wise & Grant Kirkhope left Rare, they'll hopefully make more Nintendo music.

  • Este tema me encanta es el mejor del juego (bueno junto a Aquatic Ambiance y Ice Cave Chant) y también este es el mejor juego de los country

  • this one is just amazing...

To put so much love in a song which is just 3 lvls of each 5 mins in a videogame..

    Thats Rare... missing these times

  • DKC was ahead of its time...

  • @Kyubi888Naruto

Yes, collect-a-thons and ugly 3D graphics. Its music was good, but what does that have to do with time? Did videogames only have good music in the 90s?

  • @Kyubi888Naruto

FINAL FANTASY X, XII HAS AN AWESOMESOUNDTRACK I THINK....

  • @Kyubi888Naruto

    still is :p

  • @Kyubi888Naruto AGREE WITH U,WAS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES IN VIDEO GAMES EXISTANCE

  • @Kyubi888Naruto Still is.

  • @Kyubi888Naruto Not really, its graphics were, but its gameplay was too epic to be anything like newer games.

  • @rootbeer543

Hmm, 2D platforming has seen a recent revival. DKC Returns, Megaman 9 and 10, Sonic 4. The worst game there is probably Sonic 4, and that's not even bad. It's just O.K.

  • @Kyubi888Naruto But if it weren't for these older games they would have nothing to go off of. The reason we like the newer 2D platforming so much is because they bring back things we loved from these games.

  • @Kyubi888Naruto totally

  • @Kyubi888Naruto DKC was ahead of the light in Geneve

  • Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of miners working in the mine. For some reasons, I always respect miners.

  • What an awsome tune!! i really like it, it is one of my favorite of the dkc sereis :P

  • AH! Thank you for putting this up!! This is my favorite from the soundtrack :)

  • such a soothing tune..... memories............

  • me too i love this game and this song thanx for posting this up this game is like a treasure that never gets old ...well it does but ..u know wut i mean right? 5/5
