wow i'm surprised by the number of enlightening comments i am reading on this comment board. usually comment boards are filled with a bunch of ignorant privledged racist proud-to be-exploiters. but many people who are commenting are using this space to elevate the discussion. I salute pondman27, victimofboredom, and mos619. Through trully engaging discussion we can change the sentiments which allow these kind of atrocities committed by the wasteful and greedy to end.
Why is aljazeera starting to disable comments on most of their videos? I don't know about you guys but I'm 1 staring any videos with comments disabled in protest.
Bloody hell!!! In the UK we're heavily taxed up to our eyeballs and that turd Gordon Brown wants to spend even more of our money on a another bone headed Idea, how much more burden does he think we can take! And what does that idiot has-been rubbish pop star think he's on about "give to the poor and they will produce" what utter nonsense.
What a bloody joke! "World Bank is going to help poorer nations". Tell me one time through out its history has ever World Bank help anyone? WB and the IMF are institutions that help the people who established them not the poor nations look at what they have done to Africa and South America just to start with and then maybe you will get my point.
UK should just worry about its own citizens. UK is completely broke and how do they suppose to pay for all the funding to the poorer nations? How can a popper help fund anyone when he has no funds for himself? This goes to show the genius of UK's ruling establishment. no wonder the nation is in a state that it currently is in. Keep on fooling everyone Mr Brown after all how long can you carry on with this kind of nonsense sooner or later your goose is going to get cooked.
People who go on about "overpopulation" are judging the entire world based on what they see in their own sheltered little existences. Even China has vast, MASSIVE expanses of uninhabited lands, not unlike Alaska or the American Midwest.
The US ranks 177 in worldwide population density, and the problem that will kill both Europe and Japan is having an insufficient younger population to replace the older population.
This is a matter of uneven population *concentration*, NOT "overpopulation".
I'm not talking about rain forests. I'm talking about wide open grassland plains. The American Midwest has an incredibly low population density, and most of it consist largely of rolling hills and productive farmland.
VictimOfBoredom... While you are correct that moving to sparsley populated areas gives humans a little more breating room, it does not address the amount of energy required to sustain the eternally increasing population, arable land and increased output from farming/ag. But more important than land is water. The population will reach a peak, there will be war, famine and disease. Mankind will be culled down to those with genetic traits optimal for surviving the catastrophy. Peak population.
VictimofBoredom...Earth is an environment with a fixed amount of natural resources required to sustain life. The world population is growing and will continue to grow. Nothing will stop this, it is inevitable. The only solution whether natural or man made will involve population reduction. When the resources run out, there will be war, famine and disease, that is a fact. The alternitave is voluntary or involuntary participation in programs to control population through incentives or by force.
The earth can provide for everyones need, but not their greed.
We wouldn't have these problems, wouldnt need demonic depopulation, if we changed the way we do business and industry. Our current policies and the super rich who manipulate governments to protect them are what's ruining this planet, evironmentally and socially.
There has already been war. There has already been famine. There has already been disease. None of these are unique to worldwide limited resources.
People are starving in African slums, but most buffets in the US will dump all the leftover food at the end of the day. Some people have to bathe in rainwater they collected in buckets, while water parks pump millions of gallons of freshwater for people to slide in.
VOB...Once again, I agree that there is a lot of waste and inefficiency in the world today. The problem is not if everyone can be responsible, generous, kind, altruistic, etc. The bottom line is that when resources become scarce civilization regresses. No amount of cooperation will stem the exponential growth of world population or the increasing demand for food, water and energy. The time will come when there isn't enough to go around, and very bad things will happen. It is inevitable, Sorry.

Shutup Brown, your country is the problem :)
antoshahorosha 2 years ago 2
you have no money to do this. stop forcing countries into dependence on aid and allow the countries to find their own feet.

All that you are witnessing is by design. The eugenicists of by gone days have not left the stage, rather they have hidden in the wings.
When Brown speaks of a world freed from poverty, he really means that once these peoples are dead, poverty will no longer be a problem.
The world bank, the IMF, the United Nations drive these attrocities.
This will not be confined to the poorer nations and none, absolutely none of it needs to be this way. This is genocide, their long held ambition.

They don't care about the poor people. They are working towards global currency for self interests

Its good to have the PM saying things I can be proud of - lets hope its backed up with effective, joined-up action. By all the developed nations.

Stop overloading those poor countries with loans to their rich ( and often corrupt ) leaders for starters.
Any work done in their countries by Western Corporations should be financed at 0% interest if not free....
... and should not be managed by their Govts. that got probably allowed this state of affairs in the first place.

We need a population reduction anyway.

No we don't.

No, actually we do need a population reduction. But not in the way SubmarinerAndroid wants. It's wrong! Why not do like China?

But many places are intentionally uninhabited, such as rain forest. You suggest cutting down those?

The problem isn't overpopulation; the problem is lack of efficiency and lack of conservation.
