@rrobertsnot5150 Quints mean it has five things on it. Quints are like squads, they could act as the engine or the ladder because (here the meaning of quint in this case) it has a 1.aerial ladder, 2. ground ladders 3. a tank (for water) 4. a pump 5. and hoses. That's why they call it a quint.:)
He's right, I wasn't paying attention to one aspect. The PUMP. A lot of people debate it, but if you pause at 1:06 you'll see the hose connections. This unit is actually capable of connecting to a hydrant and fighting a fire internally, and externally. Their a rare breed though. Most larger cities don't use them because they interfere with the dispatch policy. Smaller cities like them because of their multi-task capabilities. If it didn't hold water it would be a tower.
i like the use of quints. they can act as an engine company, or a truck company, or both at the same time.
