Not everyone had money to leave its just not that easy when u don't have anywhere to go if u didnt kno katrina did hit the poorest parts of new orleans SOOOOOOOOOO what did u expect them to do? mabey drive out the state on matress or mabey even a table u tell me.

its sad to think these people just left there animals to die. if they would take responsibility for themself and there pets this would not happen, but instead do nothing and blame the goverment...its a hurricane u had warning get your ass and your pets out of there!!!

they often diidnt just left them.. some marked the house with BIG LETTERS... ec ec.. and who are you to juge them...

whats the diffrence if you left them or you left them with big letters painted on the roof...no excuses for bad owners!!! ..So lets wait round 5 days and do nothing why we know a hurricane is on the way and then complain that we didnt have time to react or prepare.(just lazy people use to goverment handouts)Dont play the poor card either because if you are that poor you shouldnt own pets in the first place let alone have 3 kids on welfare.

NO one was alowed to bring any of their pets with them...some were forced at gun point to leave their home and leave their beloved animal behind. My teacher was a volunteer animal rescuer for katrina and she told us some stories.
