  • Beautiful

  • Amazing!

  • You know, I don't know much about dog sledding, but I do know a lot about dogs. These dogs are beautiful and obviously very well treated. It is pretty obvious to me that they love what they are doing too! :-) I don't know why someone had a negative comment. Maybe they just didn't look at the video very closely.

  • Is the brown dog also a husky? ( 1:33 )

  • if you trained ONE husky to what he has to do to pull a sled and THEN got another dog and let the trained husky teach the other dog by doing? if you get what i mean....lol

  • wow you guys love your dogs so much and i bet they love YOU cause to get to run like that is for a husky HEAVEN....our husky LOVES to run too but i cannot run with him due to a medical condition so he only runs with my hubby....its okay though he still loves going on nice long walks with me :)

But we are planning to breed huskies and also sled train our dogs....would it be wise, if for instance, you trained ONE husky to....cont'D

  • They're so enthousiastic. Like they were born to run and pull sleds or something.

  • I live in NC, and I would love for you to guide me in bikjoring and carting with my two Siberian Huskies! I have tried bikjoring with my male and he loved it! I cant wait till winter so we can start it again!

  • Hey i have a question how many dogs do you need on a sled dog team?

  • @cehendri okay, I didn't post this vid, but I can answer, basically you can run with however many you want even one, but my expeirience is that the dogs seem to prefer a lager team, after all they are pack animals. If you have limited space and a budget, I'd recomend a 4 dog team, just cause you have only 4 dogs doesn't mean you can't go fast or far with proper training. Personaly though a good team, in my oppion is about 6 dogs. Still controlable, fairly cheap to feed, and capable of going far.

  • First of all dogs love sled dog racing second of all she never dragged any animal! Like Amazon said they live in great living conditions!Oh and Amazon thanks so much!Do you know where i can get a sled for the racing?

  • Nice to see more Sibs than hounds!

  • Thank you very much for sharing - you have some great uploads

  • thank you very much - love your pet friendly choice. I gotta go take mine for a walk, and I love it!

  • 3:18 that dog really really wants to go. LOL

  • Those huskies are beside themselves with excitement to get going. I live in NC too and I had 2 huskies, Juneau and Kita, and we'd hook them up to a cart and they'd pull the kids in the neighborhood around. They loved it. My dogs wouldn't want to quit.

  • Dogs love running, i wish i could love running

  • @Janz494 there not going that fast stupid

  • They SOOOO just want to GO!

  • There is no abuse going on here. These dogs would not run like this if they weren't totally LOVING it! Running is unbridled, unmitigated JOY to many breeds of dogs, especially Huskies like these.

  • Oh man look at how impatient they are to start this. Awesome!

  • Oh good

  • Is linda a husky or a mutt cause she dose not look like a husky

  • @Bugie78

i dont think she is husky or malmut, she looks like an other rase.

  • Hey,Im from Turkey/Samsun and I couldnt find a dog scooter in my city,is there anything else I can use?Like a kid scooter maybe?Or just anything else and here it almost never snows would it hurt them or be bad for them if I try it on grass or path?I have a Siberian husky which is 6 months old now.

  • @TuranicTURK

Same situation here, in Chile. Build a scooter by yourself (I did), or try with a bike. Kid scooters could be dangerous (small wheels). Grass and dirty roads are ok (T<15°C).

Start with canicross at first, a DIY equipment comes easy (stw), and when he/she is 1 year old, it's time for bikejöring ! Saludos!

  • @strykal thank u very much for help..im not so smart in building so i dont think i cud do a scooter by myself so better if i try with bike i guess.. :):)

  • beautiful dogs~!! i wish I could sled with my husky but we live in tx =(

  • how do you train a normal dog to do that but on snow?cuz i love it!but my dog is only a cross between rotwiler and german shepered but he look like a husky

  • They couldn't be doing this with gammy tickers

  • I LOVE sled-dogs, and racing. Its my lifelong dream to race in the iditorod. When I had my dog, Jazzie, I taught her to pull me in a wagon, she also knew a bit of Agility. YEA FOR SLED-DOGS!!!!!!

  • incontrivertible evidence to anyone with eyes that sledding with huskies is what they love doing best -they're sooo excited -and they've done this lots of times before so if they didn't love it they wouldn't be looking so excited, durr!

  • Great way to wear them out! I go on a run every day with my lab, but she couldn't pull this off if she tried. Lovely dogs. :)

  • how far do you go in the summer?

  • Bet that'd be fun!

  • im getting an alaskan malamute, and i fell in love with dog sledding, how do you start training as a puppy? any tips?

  • @Batchagaloop @Batchagaloop Make it fun. Hugs, kisses & cookies! Work with experienced racers. Put new dogs with experienced dogs; they will teach the pups. Training = conditioning & learning the basics of team work. Practice makes perfect i.e. positive reinforcement & repetition of good runs. Hydration; they run on water and good food. Dogs experience stress, so pay attention. Some dogs look like good sled dogs but they arent, so dont force it. Have fun!

    Thanks for your comment.

  • @AmazonTraveler i am getting a husky pup from a breeder soon and well i live in a hot and cold place and what if you don't live around anyone that dog sleds.so there has been no dog that has been trained to dog sled exepte my friend that lives down the street from me that has a husky but the dog is very stuburn and will not learn dog sledding so he gave up,but how can i train my pup?

  • @AmazonTraveler dont you got just some alaskans in there or are they all alaakan mals?

  • that is sooooooooo cute:)

  • i sit in a 3 wheeled buggie and get pulled along by a kite, f**k the kite !!! i want huskies !!!! brilliant video !!! loved it and the dogs !!!

  • they dont want to play and pee they are sled dogs they want to get out there and pull the shit out of that sled

  • @savehedda FYI each and every dog that ever lived with us was treated with great respect and love. No dog was ever "dragged" anywhere. They lived in great conditions with lots of opportunities to run around and play (and Pee).

  • @savehedda I do think that you should learn what a husky is all about before you start to criticize someone. When I watch this video I see a group of dogs that are soooo excited about pulling that they can't contain themselves. I can also see that they continuously have smiles on their faces. I really can't wait to start training my puppy!

  • @savehedda

Oh good gawd, they did not drag them out. They simply secured the dog so attaching the clip wouldn't be more difficult with such a eager dog. This is well kept equipment and so are their dogs. Gorgeous coats and such. Not like they are lining them up to shot them. Least they are not just backyard ordainments for people to say that have a dog. This is respect, respecting that a working breed has a background and they are allowing them the chance to follow it. In a fun way.

  • @savehedda

shut up. dont even start with that.

  • @savehedda i think those dogs look quuite happy doing what they do if you ask me!

  • @savehedda They Have To Pull Them Like That, If All 4 Feet Were Firmly Planted They'd Drag The People All Over The Place, Your An Idiot.

  • @savehedda really sleddogs LOVE to run the dogs are dragging the owners not vice versa

  • @savehedda I think what you are perceiving as brutal isn't quite correct. The dogsare treated the way you see in the video for a reason. When you have many excited dogs, especially when there are several Alphas, (Humans), and lead dogs, the excitement can lead to a dogfight rather quickly. Its controlled, not brutal, otherwise the dogs can shoot out of the box and go off looking for "play" and end up disappearing. Visit a kennel. It will change your perspective. It did for me, I married into it.

  • I dont have a Husky but my 2 JRT's act just like one! lol

  • I want to train my siberian husky to pull a bike!do you have a way to teach her.

  • my husky is the only one whos pulls out of the bunch swell so strted trnin her crting brought a sulky cart and it sooo addicttive lol

  • that's sp cool my husky run the mile in 2:25seconds

  • How to make them keep running on the right track? My friends and I have some huskies, and we'd like to start doing this sport, but the problem is that there's only 1 dog which is pulling, the other two seem to enjoy their outside world alone more than to pull the sled/autopad (;p).

Do you have any tips for me?

    thx b4....

  • Well I may not be an expert, but I do know that if you wanna have a sled dog team they have to be born wanting to run. Haha i too would love my huskie being able to pull me on a sled but He's just not that kind of dog =D Pluss thease dogs have been trained there whole lives to run.

  • I guess u r right, well the only dog that pulls my autopad is my husky...he is 1.5 year old now, and he had started pulling since he was just about 6 months old...and yes...seems like the only thing he has in his mind is running...hahaha...but still i find its difficult just to controll him running on the right track...:(

  • That's so cool! I have a husky, but he'd rather be chewing my bedspread than pulling me around in a sled. xD

  • I luv Huskies so much.I want a Husky sooooooooo badly

  • impressive! and i love this video

  • never seen a 3-wheeled titler rig before. I wander why all the land rigs you see from the US use very small wheels?

In the UK 20" wheels are prefered.

  • omg they're so excited!! lol It bought my spirits up right away, i have a german collie mix but id also love to have a husky

  • youre crazy look what youve done to that dogs omg!

  • I'm getting my first sled dog soon, and I have been interested in racing for a really long time. I'm 15 years old, and I was wondering where you get your harnesses and sleds and training sleds and whats the best way to teach your dogs to pull and commands? Could you find them at Big R or something?

Thanks and let me know (:

    Ashley...

  • There are some great websites for commands and how to train. We start in the fall with new dogs letting them pull tires across the yard. They go into a harness, we attach a line to them, then to the tire. We use a leader line to guide them as to what to do. A leash will do too. Commands depend on where you live. We use Gee, Haw, Hold out, Hike up, easy, whoa, Get up and so on. All of these can be googled. Good luck, it's a great sport.

  • I think they're X back harnesses, but I'm not quite sure.

  • so cute <3

  • I spent the first 12 years of my life racing huskies in Michigan and my family is even pretty good friends with Linwood! This video brought tears to my eyes. Missed the sound of huskies wanting to do what they love. your video did so much for me, thank you!!

  • I own 18 Husky/Wolf mixes that i use for sled racing

  • i have to huskt im gonna start a team when i get more

  • I would love to train my husky to run like this; but I have no idea where you'd start. I guess you only really have a chance if you're born into a family that already does it. I've heard many say that your dog learns off another dog; but if you're like me and only have one dog; what are you supposed to do?

    Lol.

    Stacey xxx

  • omg me to i have one dog and will get another but i want him to learn

  • @Staceybob UPDATE! I now have a dog scooter and all the set up and we now run as a single dog sled team. I've fell in love with it, and so has my dog :D We got her to start running by getting her to chase someone and then started teaching her the commands from there :D

  • how do you get them not to run away mine aways jets it out of the yard.

  • I do the same with my Husky and German Shepard/Afghan Hound mix. They live for these runs.I don't use all of the traditional commands, I have all my own and they work well.

    Great video.

  • where is saxapahaw? Were yall members of the CNCSHC? I run my teams over here in the foothills.. let me know if you still are running. (if the owner of the video runs dogs lol)

    -Jessee in Connellys Springs, NC

  • @RedneckSledDogs Hi, I live in Maxton, NC and I would love for someone to guide me into this because I have started bikjoring with my male but not my female(when it was winter) and I loved it and so did he! message me more about you and your teams please!:D

  • "Nobody says Mush"... But in truth you can say anything you want and they will go. "Whoa" in Dog means speed up. Hint: For your next rig, get one with larger diameter wheels and it won't leap into the air over every rock and bump.

  • hike, haw, and gee are common... i use woah to slow down, but you can train your dogs with whatevever you want, provided it's easy to remember, and short so you can say it quickly.

what kind of harnesses do you use?? they don't all look like xbacks to me..

  • I love it! Great video.

An exercised sled dog is a quiet sled dog.

  • How do they not get tangled?

    I always wonder that.

I think my husky Shaddie would love to do something like that, she acts just like yours do, and I had to take her to training to actually get her to stop pulling she was slicing up my hands with her leash from pulling so hard

I don't know of any place though in California that enables something like that besides in the mountains I live in the city, and there aren't any places to do that here & I don't drive so I can't take my dogs to the snow.

  • I have a question for you. ok so I am going to be getting some dogs to train but i was wondering on some things like how do I train my dogs to turn?

  • Actually "Hike" is go...nobody ever uses mush...

    Gee is right

    Haw is left

    Whoa is stop

Gee-over and haw-over aremove to that side of the trail respectively

    Easy is slow down

To train them I usually put dogs that do not know the commands in a team of dogs that do so they learn by experience!

  • mush is go

    haw is left

    gee is right

i'm going to get my own huskys and train them to race soon.

  • oh man .. thats so cool .. i dont think my husky would do that tho .. she's too lazy .. haha.. but i love her

  • really awesome vid! ijust got a siberian husky and i really want him to be run in races and such.

i was wondering how you train a sibe the commands like left, right stop and go and if it is difficult!?!?

how do u do it lol!!
