I can not get the video off the camcorder

the program that comes with cam for editing is terrible

so i wont to use another program but nothing works

i tried to import using windows movie maker but it come up like a pic that wont play

@PoonDriver You can bypass the program and just use a flash card reader to drag the files directly onto your computer. They will play in Windows Media Player (they do for me at least), but WMM doesn't support them yet. Programs like AnyVideoConverter will convert them for you though no problem, then you can use them in WMM.

@PoonDriver Hey! Sorry about that! I always tell our clients to go get a real video editing program like Final Cut Express or Premier Elements. The programs that come with these cameras are mostly worthless.... wish I could recommend something easier than a purchase.

guys, they didnt mention in the video, but they do have an external mic jack (on the top of the camcorder, to the rear) its a mini shoe slot.

I own one and it's a great camcorder. The video / sound quality is fantastic - I record a lot of choirs and school functions and the sound is very clear and detailed. There's also an optional surround mic available.

The bundled Canon software package is not very good. VERY limiting. I'd recommend something with more features.

Hey! I am not sure how to turn off the Image Stabalization because the camera now belongs to my client. But I'm really excited to hear you can actually use Lenses with it... I didn't know! Now I want to get my hands back on this camera again. Also it does have an extremal mic jack. We filmed a bunch of video blogs with it, but we had it plugged in! Hope that helps! Mary

@MrZooyorksk8er Go to "Function". Then, siide down on the side scroll, and you should see an option of Image stabilisation. Click on it, which gives 3 options "dynamic", "standard" and "off".

Just got it. it's an awesome cam works great with imovie as well. I attached a wide angle lens and use the class 10 cards. Videos on youtube look very clear.
