My great-grandfather taught me this song when I was a boy. It is from the Imperial German Army and is a folk drinking/marching song. It has no political affiliations, it is fun and fun is what it is meant to be. Ganz klar? In short I agree with you Helvete1991, und Prost meine Herren!

Foced on us during basic training (among other songs, the most ridiculous was "Maerkischer Heide", a Brandenburg Song which which we had to sing like 30 km away from the Dutch border :S )...you may be right about the drinking part though ;-)

I don't believe I do. National Socialism is the glorification of the state or nation above that of the individual. All must be servants or slaves to the glory of the state. All sacrifices can and are called for. National Socialism means a revolutionary man, to drive back the enemies of the Nation.
Communism is similar to National Socialism in that both require great sacrifices to be made. The difference is that Communism does it for a dictatorship of the proletariat.

National Socialism was not the glorification of the state, it was the glorification of ones race above everything, even above the state. Hitler saw the greater german empire as an quite useful organisational structure of the german race, nothing more.

National Socialism was an racial concept, a thing difficult to understand for americans, since their country had no homogeneous racial base. So in National Socialism the necessary sacrifices of the individual were primary made for ones race, not for ones state.

There's really no way of telling and to be honest, there isn't much point. We're living in a world where the Allied won WWII - deal with it!

probably so they could have a better reputation with the countries after the war as well as have influence within the country after the war.. which is evident. also so they could have military bases set up there ( i know they still have basses in germany.) also for commercial reasons that would come after it's rebuilt.

Well as far as POW camps in post-europe go there were commited crimes against the geneva convension, and I have seen pictures taken by my own grandfather which was in something we in Norway call Tysklandsbrigaden (The German Brigade, stationed in Germany to keep law and order and help rebuild it etc)... and some of the things they could document was utterly disgusting.
One have to remember that the majority of POWs after WW2, was infact Wehrmacht soldiers and had nothing or little to do with the

It displayed prisoners tortured, starved, hardly wearing clothes, being hosed down with icecold water during the winter, buckets of water being placed just out of their reach during the hot summer and a lot more.
This happened in US, French and UK camps.
In the Gulag camps...well we dont have to go there.
Bottom line is, that in war there is no side that does everything correct, and before you think I'm trying to undermine or deny the Holocaust I am not.

On a side note, we've seen KZ or camps like it in both US, France, Soviet/Russia, and let us not forget the "inventor" of such camps...UK.
Not many know it was, or they choose not to remember, that it was infact the English that first used KZ camps in the Boer wars.

for them to be able to carry on the fight and I find it close to being comical that you appear to be crying about a German "genocide " in name when they were carrying out the real thing!!! Well Detvarfirst off I have seen that the german pows were given plenty of comfort AND shelter And I have spoken to several german pows and they have all said that while of course they wished they could have been with they're families they all said that they're treatment was first rate so first rate as a matter of facy after the war they moved to the US and as far as the firebombing of the Germans and Japanese cities The way to break a countries will to fight is to make it too horrible

Pewnie chodziło o Europę pokojowo współistniejących państw, która dzięki potędze swojej kultury trzęsie(pozytywnie)światem. Tymczasem ta Europa jako realna siła umarła dzięki takim świrom jak Adolf, który ją rozjechał w pył. Gdyby w Niemczech była rozumna władza można było zmiażdżyć(w kilka państw) Sowiety na placek. A tak to nasza Europa stała się kukiełką w rękach ZSRR i USA. O UE szkoda gadać, bo niewiele w ma wspólnego z europejską kulturą.
