  • is there a connection in the back for the ipod adapter, or only in the front?

  • @chrispage919 Unfortunately the units only has one USB connection and it is located in the front. You could run am RCA to 3.5mm connection but this would cause you to lose any control of the iPod through the unit. If you want a unit hat has a rear USB input then we suggest looking into to the , AVIC-Z130BT, Kenwood DNX7180, AVIC-Z120BT, or even the Kenwood eXcelon DNX6980.

  • Haha look at the guy in the back peeping around the back!! haha i laughed so hard!

  • hi seth, just wondering which is faster the JVC KW-NT1 or the JVC KW-NT3HDT thanks in advance.

  • @rowpnoyz The JVC KW-NT3HDT has a comparable start up time to it's predecessor the KW-NT1. We don't have their load up times on hand, but the KW-NT3HDT has more features to load up so it may take a bit longer for overall boot time. I'd say give the NT3 an extra 15 seconds to fully load its Total Traffic Network and other new features.

  • AFTER MONTHS STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO UPGRADE MAPS, this should be the only navigator system with so uncompatible maps in the market. Not happy whit it at all.

  • @MarianoHLX The older NT1 does come preloaded with older maps as it was released in an earlier production line. The KW-NT3HDT will come loaded with newer 2010 maps since it was released earlier this year. Now, in order to purchase a map update for your JVC KW-NT1 contact JVC at 1-(800)-995-4582.

  • Hi Seth which is the overall best double din receiver that has the navigation and 7 inch display.

  • @dedurango25 Well since JVC's KW-NT3HDT doesn't quite have a 7" screen, the best FULL 7" screen in-dash navigation system right now would be the AVIC-Z120BT by Pioneer.

Now, this deck has my favorite all around features, but if your PRIMARY concern is the Navigation feature - Kenwood uses Garmin, and has a really great navigation interface. The DNX9960 and the DNX7160 both would be great options to go with. But for all around features + navigation, go with the Z120BT.

  • @SonicElectronixTV Thats what i needed thanks a lot.

  • does it have voice command where you can say play artist or go to starbucks? I know the pioneer avic-z1100bt has it but i was wondering what this item has better than that one?

  • hello, i am really confused to choose between kw nt1, dnx 9240 and avic f10bt and i would like to hear your proposion.

  • OH SNAP!! LANCE BASS!! Thanks Lance, just picked one up one ebay!

  • your camera guy is annoying, tell hm to stop zooming in so slow

  • Does the front face can be released?

  • hi seth,

i wanted to kno if i can plug my ipod up from the back of the radio, so it will be hiding in the glove box, also do you know if pioneer has anything that has everyhing this jvc has ,including the detachable face..

thanx in advance for your response;-)

  • Thanks for the question. The only USB for iPod connection is on the front of the NT1. So if you want the full control of the iPod from the display of the unit, then you will have to connect it on the front.

The only other Pioneer "equivalent" with a detachable screen is the AVIC-U310BT. However, it does have a smaller screen. We have some videos done on the U310BT as well. Check them out!

  • Hi there, does this unit support displaying traditional chinese characters?

  • Hi Seth,

Which one is newer, NT1 or 7000BT ? also which one is better in terms of navigation, start up and usb reading speed, etc. Thanks!

  • The NT1 is the newer model. From the units that we have tested, we have noticed faster start-up, much faster USB reading (that includes iPod too), and the display is much more clear. The navigation will be the the same between the two units. However, the NX-7000bt does have a larger screen.

  • hi,

I would like to know if this system has the function that I don't need to type the address of the destination, but i can just speak to the system and tell to it where I want to go.

And, if the ipod is playing for example, I will be able to use the GPS at the same time?

    THX

  • The KW-NT1 does not have the ability to have destinations entered in verbally. Maybe something that we can expect from JVC soon. And you can play the iPod while you are driving and have the navigation going.

  • 1:33 lol

  • would this product be ok when hooking up a sub system in the back of ur car, would the music come in crisp and clear

  • Yeah you would fine in hooking up a sub to the unit. It has 3 sets of preamp outputs so you can use an amplifier to power the sub and your front and rear speakers. The output level is 2.5V on the sub.

Also note that JVC uses a mono-sub output, so you will need a RCA Y-Adapter to hook up to the amp.

  • Seth, What is the maximum size SD-Card it will read (for music). ? And same question for the USB port... How large of a USB thumb drive will it accept?

How fast is the scrolling and searching on the SD and USB?

    Thanks...

  • The maximum SD card size is 2 GB. I couldn't find information on the maximum size of compatible USB devices. The manual mentions that the USB device must be formatted in FAT 32, 16, or 12. Also it must have a max current of less than 500 mA.

The scrolling and searching of the SD card and USB devices is very fast. There are not too many stereos (if any) that are faster than the NT1. It uses USB 2.0.

  • I'm interested in buying a jvc in dash and i'm not sure between NX7000 and this one; i noticed that NX7000 got TMC (traffic message channel) while this seems without. Furthermore i'd like to know if it's possible to download more lenguage for the text-to-speech and/or as default lenguage for the menu and maps for other countries. Can u help me? tnx in advance for your kindly answer

  • the text to speech can speak back to you in 3 Languages (female): English, French, and Spanish

It also features Multilingual Display (English/Spanish/French)

    Hope that helps.

  • Ofc and tnx a lot for your answer; just one more question: maybe u know if it's possible to upload maps of europe? i live in italy and nx7000BT here cost about $ 1350 and pretty the same for NT1 and, tbh, that sux! tnx again for your answer

  • That information I don't have with my manual and packaging, but if you give the JVC customer support hotline a call at (800) 252-5722 they may be able to answer your questions about uploading maps and the cost of that, as well as the possibility of downloading additional languages for the text-to-speech, maps and menus.

  • tnx a lot Seth, really kindly and helpfull

  • Seth, between this and the KW-NX7000, which do you prefer (without considering its ipod abilities cause I have a zune)?

    thanks

  • I would personally go with the NT1 because the overall speed of the NT1 is faster. Plus, the look of the NT1 is really nice and the screen is absolutely stunning. They are both great units, but the NT1 has an improved interface (in my opinion), faster controls, and a incredible display. And i didn't even mention the improved iPod controls!

  • Ok..... I appreciate your response Seth! I was leaning toward the NT1.

Great video reviews BTW! uh...minus the peeping Tom stealing the spotlight (lol)

  • very interesting..but who's the man behind the wall?lol
