A wonderful dedication, your beautiful work, the columns of candles like soldiers drawing your eyes to the staue of Liberty and the towers in the background, what I found poignant was the person carrying a child, walking towards the statue, to me this symbolises new life and with Liberty,a shining beacon lighting the way out of the darkness to a brand new hope of world peace.

I served as Radio Technician with the 56th RECCE Armored Corps Squadron with the 1st UNEF Peacekeeping Canadian mission to Egypt from Feb. '57 to March '58. It possibly prevented Russian involvement and WW III. We lost several men and an officer. I was very touched by your video and the wonderful musical tribute of Steve Paled. I never understood the significance of what I did at that time. I had to be with my friends - just doing my job. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering.

For me, this painting elicits emotions recalling loss, but stronger emotions of strength, fortitude, calm, gratitude. It is humbling, yet I can't explain why I say that. Though I see this in a positive note to healing as well.
