Well, If you reduce the amount of support needed to contest for leadership, then you would have 20 different candidates, which would create divisions and mess. Though I don't like any of the candidates for Labour's leadership anyway.

@0muffins0 hey Muffin, i just want to clear up your observation about John Mcdonell, this kill them all statement is 100% false to the point where he has voted against war in Iraq, voted for withdrawal in Afghastian and voted No to intervention in Libya........Also if you listen to what he is saying, he is actually asking for a debate with people of a differing opinion.

@MrLovethelife False? No. He said that he would be only too glad to "go back to the 1980s and assassinate Thatcher". That type of thinking is typical of the statist, big-government supporting, authoritarian left where daring to hold a differing opinion is seen as a cardinal sin. No well adjusted human being would even countenance the idea of killing another person for idealogical reasons, let alone declare it proudly in public. He needs to be in prison, along with Blair and Brown.

but Mcdonnell should not be put in prison for a joke, just because he has a different opinion abot a joke does not make him a criminal (fair it was a bad joke but never the less a joke)

They use that excuse because they actually think that joking about killing a named individual in cold blood is socially acceptable!
