After the tornado passed I jumped in the Squad and starting looking for damage/Survivors. Then the 2nd wave hit, I got on the radio and radio'd all the other Victor Units out there. They were like "wait what another one coming?"

I have lived near Hobart/Gary for three years now and been through probably 5-10 tornado warnings. I am yet to hear a siren. IDK if there are any out there, but if there are they don't work

Man i will never ever forget this storm.I live in Schererville and was far enough away from the tornado,but the lightning would not give up.we lost power for like3/5 days.

Thinking about it now, we lost power in a lot of storms during the summer(08). I love thunderstorms but they get annoying quick when you can't flip a light on at night.

I actually remember that night, but also at work at O'hare Airport in Chicago, when the city of Chicago decided to announce a mandatory evacuation of our terminal and everyone went to the lower level and hallways going to the L trains and took cover there.

Great job here. Love the music w/video 1/2 way thru. This storm hit fast. We were watching a movie when my daughter said we had a waring. We didn't hear sirens, my husband went outside, my daughter looked out & said there's nothing...oh wait there's a bit of lighting, slight thunder, just then my husband said, get to bathroom now. We just made it to the door, 20 ft. when trees hit the house. Very calm, then wham! It lasted long thou, I think thats why so much damage. Every st.had downed trees.
