I've already commented on the Bach. This shows exceptional musical potential. There is a sophisticated sense of everything. The teacher is also obviously marvellous. Children change interests, so work in progress, but on the basis is this and the other performance, I would say this is a future professional musician of great ability.

Even if I play harder songs than this it feels like she's way better than me because I could tell that she has strong finger power....My piano teacher keeps telling me to not tense up my wrists,arms, and shoulders when I play but I can't get rid of that habit..And that habbit causes my fingers to not be powerful and makes my fingers not make loud sounds.....

Some info, when you mention Asian in UK they refer to people from subcontinent( India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Srilanka) Those child piianist are from the far east or oriental, which is China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan.

Asian people are more into traditional music of their own culture which is not the same as universal tune/music which the oriental people can easily adopt and enjoy.

Cute kid, but it doesn't sound nice at all. She plays like a robot, and if she wants to get anywhere she's gotta play with emotion. Her tutor or whatever should try and let her just freestyle on the piano. She's gotta be able to appreciate music, otherwise, however cute she is she'll never be professional.

I'm sure the parents take great pride in watching their daughter play beautiful music.

There is no child abuse in having a child learn a musical instrument; there is no child abuse in teaching a child how to talk or read. It's very much so the same concept. The chances of people making it big, are larger if you nourish it in your youth. With her being 8 in this video, i find her chances very big.

Nationality jokes aside, its a point of view. Adaptation. If you grow up with strict parents, wether you like learning X or not, it seems normal to you. If you grow up with your parents not caring, that seems normal to you.

I personally say strictness is better, as it makes it possible to be happy. If a child to use to doing anything he wants, a tiny bit of strictness makes them upset.

I know for I've been following this wonderful little Sora for more than a year1/2 now, and I've watched all her videos, starting with the Bach Gigue she played when she was 5 y/o..

Great performance. But I noticed, when I used to take piano lessons, my teacher would make sure I had my fingers in the correct shape, and she 'd also make me place erasers on my wrists and not drop them while I played to make sure I didn't wriggle my wrists around. But when you looke at performances of great pianists they don't really stick to those rules at all. This girl does it almost perfectly. If she IS enjoying all this, I wish we could see it more in her playing.

Every pianist I have ever seen that played more difficult classical pieces and played very well, usually had that serious, focused look on their face when they played. I think it looks like she's really into it, and very excited about the music she's creating. The way her body sways and such, the adorable expression she has at certain points in the song.. lol, I just love her.
