when they say its "87mpg", people say "woooow i am going to save a lot of money" this is for any electrical car but they forget the fact that how much they will pay for the electricity. I recently checked out one of the nissan cars and did the calculation. You are not really saving crazy money. This is mostly for governments not to rely on oil too much and environmental purposes. who gives a damn about the consumer right?

There are a lot of questions that this new project rise. Ive always applauded BMW engineering, however, I would like to know what kind of batteries its going to need?. How long is the charging process gonna take? I mean, i would fucking love to drive one of those, but if in the making of an Enviroment Friendly car, they're going to start using non-enviroment friendly processes or materials, i woudl thinkg twice before mass-producing that thing...

Regarding hydrogen fuel cell, its a no go. Sure its easy to make hydrogen, not so easy to make a fuel cell affordable. Also, its only green if you make the hydrogen from water, problem is that thats a very inefficient way of making it.

Think of all that wasted electrical energy just to produce a fuel, why not use that electrical energy directly? This is how inefficient it is:

FCV: Solar->electric->chemical(elec­trolysis)->electric->chemical(­battery)->electric->GO!

EV: Solar->electric->chemical(batt­ery)->electric->GO!

Not to mention that it will require a totally new infrastructure, on a globale scale. If you can tell me how FCV will ever be competitive with EV you will win a noble price:)
