So is every american a racist? Well, at least those who object the black rapper and his views. Well, as a European I really don't understand this :)))
@jedinyMartusak All Americans are not racist. Were I to venture a guess as to why the black rapper isn't accepted? I'd have to say it's the lifestyle and what the lyrics are about that turns one off to the black rapper and their lifestyle. Is that racist? One chooses to live that way of life. Most Americans do not care for the violence that accompanies such. Why promote a form of art that promotes violence?
@chop98 It is your right not to enjoy the music or art form, but we should not forget that violence is also what brought about the need for such an art form. The music industry however did turn the rap lifestyle into the promotional tool for some form of violence that it has become. If you get passed the beat you actually often find in good rap, very good lyrics. Like anything else these days, most of it is not that good though.
This music is also really distracting and I find that it reinforces stupid stereotypes for what music is "black". I'd appreciate something more tasteful and fitting.
This series was moving along so nicely until this bullshit section. I had and have no idea what just happened. What, putting up a couple cob benches in one of our countries murder capitals and calling it an amphitheatre is supposed to somehow teach sustainability? Give me a break. Why didn't you just go all the way and talk about building cob jails?!!
social, racial, political, urban, environmenal issues? they are all intertwined!!!! check out the history, how city spaces were formed in your country
The racism spewed at the beginning of this one really interferes with the message. You have to separate the politics from an issue or you will only preach to people hou agree with you already. Just my hard learned and unsolicited advice. The green movement does itself a lot of disservice by alienating vast numbers of people who will just roll their eyes and go watch clips of people falling down or something. You have to reach them on their level, not yours. end rant :)
"...people that may be consciously or unconsciously racist..." Spewing this kind of bigotry, and saying that all (white?) people are racist? consciously or unconsciously? a lot of people stop watching right there. I didn't, I was able to look past the racism of the messenger and see the message for what it was. Important. But the DJ with the beanie over his eyes had some counterproductive political views that turn most Americans off. I don't know why he or the black panthers are in the movie.
Thank you.
