  • I have this video in my MP3 :D I have all your musics indoor ! I love them ! and listen them always ! Thank you for the magic of your videos !

  • You play wonderfully! But why is your head never in the picture? :D Spooky

  • Genius!

  • Amazing!

  • Bland det bästa jag hört på nyckelharpa. och jag har hört mycket....

  • i would love to learn one of these.... is it easier than the violin or much more complicated!! ??

  • It's much easier than violin. You are very helped if you have played violin

  • Why are there "sympathetic strings" on the instrument, if you don't play em? what are they doing? What happens if you WERE to play them?

  • Sympathetic strings sound off when you play the note they are tuned to match, so some of them are always vibrating under the main melody. You can't play them, they are placed lower than the melody strings so the bow doesn't / can't touch them. But they are always playing themselves....

  • Amazing!!!

  • ...

  • beautiful. thanks for posting

  • This is amazing. I want one... but the cheapest I could find is about $5,000. :(

I prefer nyckelharpa to the hurdy gurdy at least a thousand fold.

  • what strangeous instrument :O i've never seen before!

  • vakker musikk!!

  • What a miracle of science... that I can sit on my laptop in a coffee shop and listen to a nyckelharpa!

  • Love this - nice sound too! I've recorded a Nyckelharpa, and I was wondering, is this recorded without reverb? I've noticed the open strings resonate and give a sound a bit like reverb, so I was wondering about this one. I love your Bach pieces too.

  • There seems to be no reverb here. It is just the resonating strings:)

But when i record nyckelharpa, i usually use a bit of reverb, it makes the sound fuller and it feels more natural to listen to:)

  • Amazing. Just amazing.

  • Really wonderful!

  • Beautiful!

  • awesome!!!

  • uncle**

  • My unckle used to play the nyckelharpa, I love this instrument!

  • Håper på å spille like bra som deg en vakker dag! Har nettopp begynt å spille nyckelharpa :-)

  • how many strings are on that thing?

  • It is 16 strings. But you only play on 4 of them. The fatest string nearest the player is a bass string without any tangents. The other three strings from the left away from the player is the g-string the c- string and the a-string. the g is equiped with 7 tangents or keys as we say in sweeden. the c string has 10 keys and the a- string has 20 or sometimes 22 keys. The remaining 12 strings is resonance strings. Hope you understand what i wrote :-)

  • wow, thanks

  • Theres 16 strings

  • its great that you did this video in what looks like a workshop, cause it makes me think you made the instrument! haha

  • the hard truth is, thats the truth the most times.its much cheaper to build a nyckelharpa on your own.

  • True, although building one is time consuming and you first ones probably won't reach the level of quality and sound as the best ones you can purchase, which are surely expensive, but they won't really ruin you.

  • Beautiful, very nice.

  • åh, min favvis! Det var väldigt fint! Tack så oerhört mycket! Vad snyggt du spelar den, otroligt fint!

  • ah, my favorite! This is very nice! Thank so very much! How beautifull you play this, awesome nice
