your line from your pvc should not be goint strait to your adaptor plate .hav it running o your charcole cannister and have the line T'd into the adaptor plate
I upgraded to the weber carb as well, I had to get my floats adjusted and it rejetted because they were sea level jets and i live over a mile above sea level.
Where can i go to see what jets are which for a dgav carb? I want to rejet my carb but it seems that no one or no where something like this can be found!!SOMEONE HELP!!
oh koool kool yea mine came with a spring but i didnt understand what the directions were sayin so i rigged mine up lol they sure do run awesome with webers
Actually I took a spring i found from autozone and hooked it over the linkage to something else so it works out because the pedal feels more solid now.
It looks like its going to the bottom of the carb but it is actually going down and then back up straight into the Air Filter Housing. There is a connection under neath the house because the element comes off from the top. Thanks for noticing that.
For starters you need to check your idle jets. The weber kits typically come with jets too large for the AMC I6 application. If you call Weber North America explain to them you have a Jeep with the I6 and you need smaller idle jets. They will send them to you free of charge. You should be running 35/35 for your primary/secondary idle jets. Once you have it jetted correctly you can go from there. Mine runs like a raped ape with the Weber 34 and I'm getting 17-20mpg in my 1986 CJ7.
I've heard that if you don't install a fuel regulator with those Webers, they may run too rich on idle, thus increasing the rpm. I personally don't have a weber. I have a Motorcraft 2100 which works like a top.
Right now, the engine is Nuttered, only has a cat for exhaust, and has an Edelbrock Pro Flo filter. All that probably does nothing to lean out the mixture, but oh well.
A Ford TFI ignition would really help. So would a Clifford header and 2 bbl. intake. Those, of course, cost $.
I didn't drive the Jeep with the Carter on it, so I don't know about performance gains. It has great throttle response, though.
When I was driving the Jeep daily when it had 2.73 gears, I was getting maybe 13 mpg, but I was bogging it down unknowingly (I was using 5th @ 55 mph). I would say 16 to 17 mpg shouldn't be out of the question.
It runs great, though. If you need help, you have my username... ; )
Hook both the original return springs onto the accelerator cable where it connects to the arm on the carburetor. The weber return spring seems to be pretty light and sticks sometimes.
Look up a "nutter bypass" to by pass the computer that still tries to control the old 2bbl Carter, this will be the same as the CJs were set up with the 4.2 I6. After this you can idle smoothly, no misses, etc. assuming timing is good and don't have vacuum leaks.
I would check if your vacuum advance line is hooked up right, then if it is, test out how much vacuum pressure your getting. Next i would try all the other stuff (fuel/air ratio, spark gap, timing, fuel line, manifold gasket ect.)
Check your spark plug wires. Mine were shotand the jees was missin a bit. Other than that adjusting the fuel mixture button may work. My YJ was cutting out on me when I started to hit the gas. Turns out of of my fuel hoses wasbent like a twizler. So check them.
3.5 psi settings on a holley 12-804 fuel pressure regulator and it should be much better mine had the same issue.

Wrong Carb. 36/36 Weber dosnt Work perfekt.
I have Weber 32/36 Inside, Modify Idle Jet of 135, and Run perfekt in idle, Warm and have Perfomance.
Run in Austria.

the cvaccum hose from ur breather on to of ur valve cover needs to connect to ur airfilter housing instead of on the bottom portion of ur carb

yes you need to install a fuel reg and drop it down below 4 psi when i am not running high rpms its running down around 2.5-3psi

melvin I recently put a Weber 34 Carb on my YJ 4.2 258. and now the spark plug have carbon deposit

is your motorcraft 2100 on a jeep 258?
jeepman787 2 years ago
Yes. 1.08 mc2100 with 48 jets. It runs a little rich, but goodies will thin that out.

what kind of goodies?
expensive goodies?
or cheap goodies?

cool well ill definitely be taking your route because it is hardly running as it is and i think i can put up with it running a little rich
did you notice any performance gains or fuel economy gains
