as for where the word nepal came from was derived from kirati word of "nepala".
that's why historian, scholars have already proven that original newars were Kirat descendant.

@diliprai Yes, u might be right about where the term "NEPAL" came from and it was only used to describe Kathmandu valley...but if prithivi narayan shah, who was from gorkha(that's where the term Gurkha/Gorkhali came from), had decided to name the whole country Gorkha, then you would be having this discussion right now. He only choose to name the country Nepal and not gorkha because he didnt wanted people to think that he is discriminating !

Under Hindu government, administration Nepal is listed as one of the most corrupted nations on earth by UN. as for south asia regions, nepal is 2nd corrupted nation. the 1st was Afghanistan.so what does it means? it means that every nepalis are corrupted. so i will never trust nepalis. they lie and cheat people so they are corrupted. many nepalis go to america every year and never return home but they promised to consular they would. @diliprai If there was any Kirati government, Nepal would be dead by then. Himalayan part would belong to China where as Hilli and Terai part would belong to India. Shit, that's why Pritivi Narayan Shah united nepal because he wanted to have one united Nation with different race, cultures, and traditions. Nepalese Kirati's were stupid from beginning and they still are, that's why they are not qualified for many things. Ever heard this quote by Prithivi Narayan Shah, "char jaat chattis barna" ?

@bogati143 kirat dynasty came to end in 330 AD at the hands of aryan licchavis my friend. if there was no aryan licchvais invasion, today nepal would have been different story. historians and scholars have verified that nepal under kirat administration was the golden period in nepal history. there was tax system under kirat rule, there was law and order, justice was equal and there was no caste system during kirat civilization. but everythign change after aryan licchavis takeover.

@diliprai HA HA....Yes, if nepal was ruled by kirati government, there would have been a different story. different story that china or india would be ruling Nepal right now. Nepal would have never been strong enough to fight back british. And don't forget that kiratis were not originated in Nepal. They might have been the first settlers of Nepal but they themselves came from other areas.
