  • Why didn't she have an answer for the democracy vs. climate change question? Because it was a completely invalid question. That's why. It is a good thing she's patient. I would have just called the interviewer a moron.

  • She stammers for the same reason as I do; because she's just trying to collect her thoughts, and because there are so many of them.

  • STUPIDEST QUESTION EVAR!!!!!! Can democracy solve climate change? WTF IS THAT... Thats like asking does 2+2= the extinction of the dinosaurs.... if u ask that question to a 6 year old they would ask you if ur retarted >.>

  • I think this interview was just to find kicks and jokes by asking stupid questions and they were probobly suprissed when she put forth answers to those stupid questions eloquently and not give stupid answers.

  • I did't Think it was possible for mé to gain even more respect for Regina - or ANYONE - but I just did! She's my biggest hero by far!

  • Brilliant as always, but I don't agree on the voting bit. Well, I'm not eligible anyways, so it doesn't matter, YET. Politicians, both sides, by nature of the job and who wishes to fill it, are usually the kinds of people you don't want to rule in the first place, IMO. So, good interview, stupid questions.

REGINA. IS. AWESOMENESS! <— The new absolute in the universe.

  • @Theblizzardking Yeah, it's terrible, right? I mean, they don't start wars abroad and all that stuff. What a shame. Right?

  • @Theblizzardking you know that liberalism and socialsm are two distinctly different ideologies, right?

  • Cute, Artistic, Talented AND Intelligent?

Regina is just another level of awesome..

    *mindblown*

  • Why is it people talk about democracy as if it represents the most people when everywhere you look the majority of people are against what the state is doing. If that doesn't give you pause, then I'm not sure you're thinking clearly.

  • If you are for representing the most amount of people, then why would you invalidate a minority through voting? Why do you not then endorse a type of voting that happens 24 hours a day all year round called consumer purchasing to handle social and economic issues? That is sure to represent everyone who actually put their own resources toward the issues. It just seems otherwise like you are punishing people for not caring as much as you claim to. I guess that's my problem with democracy.

  • When talking about her music, she's very whimsical and cute.

When talking about the world, she's very articulate and srs.

    I love her brain.

  • My idol

  • so voting is the opiate of the masses? sounds about right.

animals and plants live in harmony?! sorry, they don't (except for the symbiotic plants that live inside vertebrates). only viruses live in harmony with each other because they have no intra-specific competition apparatus.

there never was an era when mankind lived in harmony with nature. it was simply that there were fewer people around before.

  • @djhbrown Animals and plants live in harmony in the sense that they depend on one another for food and for population control, and that ecosystems were basically balanced before modern human interference

  • I don't know why, but I love how she says "no" to the question of whether women are more democratic than men or not hahahaa.

  • me too :)

  • 4:48 her eyebrows are funny

    btw I LOVE HER!

  • solve the climate change crisis: CO2 increases global warming (allegedly), fossil fuels No1 cause of CO2, therefore reduce dependency on fossil fuels by replacing it with a new cleaner more efficient fuel....like water and free radiant electricity! ...oh yeah Regina is cute btw :)

  • if CO2 isn't causing the "problem" then perhaps "global warming" it is part of our natural cycle...

  • Between denial and despair is hope.

  • shaman are here. possibly without even knowing.

  • See how she says her last sentence "I don't neccessarily think that it would be a political system or religious system that would do it" Somone reply with the right way to put how she said it. Oh, Regina, you do deserve President of the world.

  • Her laugh at 2:01 is cute :)

  • That's an incredible sentiment - I've always thought that I don't know enough to vote, or that there's no-one good to vote for. But if I make an effort to look into this stuff, and then I do vote, and everyone does the same, we can make big changes!

  • yes, keep searching for other ways of being. YES! Look to nature and it's harmony! Permaculture to grow one's own food. Look to history and examples of cooperative society ie Spanish collectives before the Civil War. Thank you Regina. Global Warming. Climate Crisis.

  • Regina, aren't there many other, possibly more effective ways to assert ones opinion, to empower oneself? Isn't the voting process as rigged as the rest of the system? I hope that people who vote are more inclined to do other things such as organize a protest, but I also think there is the tendency to assume that all of one's participation is entailed in the vote. Which tendency takes precedence? Well we have less than 50 percent voter turn out, people convinced that system doesn't work....

  • her intelligence turns me on

  • Talented, pretty and intelligent. REginaSPECTor ;)

  • Bad questions, well answered

  • Some of these questions are way too general.

  • Now that I know what she thinks about Democracy and generally the world, I love her so much more!

I'm so glad that I share views with one of my heroes.

Also, I love how she speaks, it kind of reminds me of how a little kid would speak, just....really really adorable. =D

  • Let's not forget Regina grew up in Soviet Russia. She has a perspective on freedeom and democracy unlike most native born Americans.

  • The problem with native born Americans is that they actually believe they are free. Its because they believe everything they are told by the very ones most likely to decieve them, their government. Most Americans have never been anywhere but America so they have nothing by which to judge their own freedom. The government knows this and uses it to their advantage.

  • Indeed, Wecry. First time I traveled overseas, it was shocking and quite eye opening to view your own country, through the eyes of the others. I don't think you can really understand America(for the good and bad), unless you have traveled abroad

  • "The problem with native born Americans is that they actually believe they are free. Its because they believe everything they are told by the very ones most likely to decieve them, their government."

Do you not see that as being a belief that you hold? You do not actually know all native born Americans - and what belief (or different belief, or lack of belief) "they" do - (meaning each and every single separate individual American does) personally hold, do you?

  • dang it. If i could have a choice who i would want to be great friends with, Regina (and Thom Yorke) would be at the top of the list. In fact, i wouldn't mind bein married to her either:p she is too awesome to be unnoticed.

  • This is amazing. I was worried when I read the titles but I agree with all of Regina's ideas and notions and she (unknowingly) agrees with mine.

  • Very smart young lady. After all, who has the wisdom she has to be so cautious on such important issues? Democracy may be what we think is right for the world but the world isn't ready for just our way of seeing things. What I am more impressed with is that she has such a passion for being in true with herself and not influenced by others. It is refreshing that she doesn't think that "democracy" is the answer but that human equality is! It took me longer to reach this lesson!

  • Regina for president !:D

  • wow, what an intellegent woman. i love her music, and could never figure out how she could write it, but her brains sure show.

i never knew she had such an accent, either

  • I disagree. I love this lady, but a democracy serves the people it governs. So how can a democracy NOT be the solution to all world governments? I am not saying that ONE NATION should govern ALL NATIONS....or that an INTERNATIONAL BODY shoud govern all nations. I am saying that ALL FORMS OF GOVERNMENT should serve the people.

  • Because once the individual is ignored the majority is ignored. Besides, you do realize that (if you are an American, which by the way you seem to carry your conversations I wouldn't be surprised)your government isn't even democratic, its a democratic republic, which ignores the principles of a republic but still votes.

  • democracy = mob rule, majority = stupid and self serving

  • @Prometheus1st Our government for example, does not serve all its people, just the rich ones. It calls itself a republic but in actual practice there are no republics or democracies anywhere on Earth.

  • i agree with bloomingauthor7 you took the words right off my finger tips. this makes me love her even more than i already do, so thats an awful lot!!!! thanks for posting this whydemocracy.

  • i think ive said "wow" like 5 times during these two parts on democracy....a lot of her points make so much sense...shes so smart =]]

  • is it possible i love her even more now?

i've never heard her talk this long before. this is really cool. thank you.

  • Lol right, I was thinking the same thing. Regina never ceases to amaze!
