The infected are still alive, it's just that they're hallucinating and think we're monsters because we don't produce the same hormones. they also can still think on par with humanity. If you've seen the movie, you'll notice because Neville thought they were animals, he didn't expect them to trap him or want the female back.

i had a very vivid dream about the i am legend zombies, this particular clip inspired it. in the end i came up with a solution, im writing a book series about survivors, the monsters very similar to these ones. im trying to make it as real, thrilling, believable as possible and hope that when ive finnished my editing i can get it published.

@Dextear It doesn't only make people hallucinate, it also causes people to think differently and not be themselves. Normally the girl wouldn't bite at a monster, but the infection is making her want to feed she when she sees meat she don't give a fuck that it is a monster because she is hungry.
The book is actually a lot clearer on the whole zombie/vampire society thing. I'm pretty sure they see humans as they are not as portrayed in here. The title of the novel-film actually is pretty self explanatory. The paradigm shifts and the legends (vampires that hunt humans) become the dominant species and the humans become legendary "creatures" that hunt them.
To the girl in the story: Love conquers all, unless there is a goddamn zombie epidemic.
@empemitheos well this takes places mostly during the start of the apocalypse so cell phone coverage might still be available maybe after a few weeks or months communication might go down but you only see that in the movies so you never know :P

The movie for I am Legend was so far from the book that I couldn't help but be sick. The main character was an old white guy in his forties for christ sake! The infected we intelligent also and the guy wasn't military. What was really horrible, what made me rage was the fact that when they republished the book they put Will Smith on the cover! I bet anyone who picks that one up will be in a for a real shocker. "Where's Will Smith? Why can these zombies speak?"
You know, whuile I absolutely hate the downer endings these animated comics all have, I absolutely adore the artwork. Whichever animator team made these should get a raise.

The more your understand what this means, the more it has an effect on you, so if you read a comment of someone saying they were slightly afraid, then leave them alone, because this video was made to impress/scare/disturb and expande the I AM LEGEND story.
As we can see, the infected's mind are dull and they see anything as prey, In this case Pritam, whilst in the building, saw Vatsala as a none infected, he was about to attack her when on closer inspeaction saw she was a fellow infected and in this case his girl-friend.
This is most likely why infected can tell the difference between infected and none infected, their eyes, and then the lack of hair...
This may not apply to all the infected, but in this case paranoia was the path she took when turning infected, her mind began to brake and she made excuses such as, the food or water is making me ill, etc, until eventually, she was at the point when the infection dulls your mind and you see non infected as something else....Prey.......

Orson Scott Card put a twist on the usual zombie story by showing that on some level, the infected are concious of eachother, and through the lens of the disease, they see regular people as monsters, and they even retain their own self image. To them, they look the same as when they were "alive", while in actuality, but is not shown in the comic, the exact opposite is true.

Do they have to feed of off non-infected humans or do they just need flesh in general? If they need non-infected humans then the infected are going to die pretty fast too.

there have been alot of comments regarding are people afraid of this vid....
I think for certain people it can be scary and I think for most people this is disturbing,,,,, and yet a good animated novel/comic
The more your understand what this means, the more it has an effect on you, so if you read a comment of someone saying they were slightly afraid, then leave them alone, because this video was made to impress/scare/disturb and expande the I AM LEGEND story.

As we can see, the infected's mind are dull and they see anything as prey, In this case Pritam, whilst in the building, saw Vatsala as a none infected, he was about to attack her when on closer inspeaction saw she was a fellow infected and in this case his girl-friend.
This is most likely why infected can tell the difference between infected and none infected, their eyes, and then the lack of hair...

This may not apply to all the infected, but in this case paranoia was the path she took when turning infected, her mind began to brake and she made excuses such as, the food or water is making me ill, etc, until eventually, she was at the point when the infection dulls your mind and you see non infected as something else....Prey.......

The family seen here was about to go underground, to a shelter (because of the virus) but the girl insisted on seeing his boyfriend which was already infected. So the rest of the family didn't wait for her, for their protection and left her outside, she got infected by the kiss she gave to that dude and went ape-shit!, I think it was her brother who let her in, and those "monster" are the family members, you know the virus makes you hungry and agresive and makes you hallucinate

It's still wrong to kill cold blood whether you're infected or not. The girl mutated along with her boyfriend. I think that this is not just the case of them hallucinating and being killer aggressive humans. They've changed into a more primal and animalistic like state. They can't think like normal humans anymore and they've become like lions and tigers. As we all know, even lions can show affection toward its own kind but will humans. I don't think the infected went apeshit more like "de evolve

Vatsala was infected by the kiss and got ill, and became one of the infected. Her brother let her in and she killed her family, mistaking them for infected; in her sickness she didn't realize she was in fact the monster.

people react in different ways. For example I do not get scared either I get really sad and almost mourn for the people who are dead or get killed. I am a touchy feeling person. I also become afraid for people real easy. You probably react in some way but do not realize it.

Orson Scott Card put a twist on the usual zombie story by showing that on some level, the infected are concious of eachother, and through the lens of the disease, they see regular people as monsters, and they even retain their own self image. To them, they look the same as when they were "alive", while in actuality, but is not shown in the comic, the exact opposite is true.
Her little brother said "He thought the thing was Watsala" which in fact it was. She was just unrecognizable. And vis versa
