I've always used Traktor Pro on a Mackbook Pro laptop. Never crashed or malfunctioned a single time. I used to have Traktor LE on a HP laptop running vista, and it crashed almost every gig.
I've found you get what you pay for as far as software goes. (to a certain extent). it's a worthy investment if your services rely on it.
If your using Laptops, they are only designed to be used for a short period of time, as they get hot, and perform poorly, this is the problem i have...
It slows loading time of tracks, and the audio Latency goes up. (This, for example, is the time it takes for sound to be heard when the play button is pressed (assuming the cue point is significant))
I now use extra cooling (Y) it works fine now :P:P
I use Traktor DJ Studio.
Being german, its very reliable :P Never crashed once..
Hey man just subscribed. Ouch! had to use media player! Whew! Good recovery lol! I personally use Virtual DJ, I have a couple vids on it if you want to check it out. Practice N Enjoy!
Well Matt, sorry to hear about all of the problems that you were having, but crap always happens weather we like it or not. You did a good job working around it and still keeping things going.
Hey watch having the table on top of your equipment in your car, I had mine on top before and I stopped quickly causing it to fly forward and crack my windshield. rope or bungee it down :-) if you dont already do it :-)
virtual dj or serato virtualdj does video as well serato you have to buy something else but will also do video use virtual dj with timecoded cds or time coded vynl it rocks
