  • I cant believe I never watched this video and I did that request for you... looks like quite the collection. Ive recently became a "cheapo" collector by only collecting plates I find in the junkyard, looking back I've spent wayy too much money collecting, so by getting a ton of them for free, it makes it worth collecting again :P

  • How much do you generally spend on plates? Im from the UK and wanna collect but the postage costs here are huge

  • where do you get all of these

  • love your vids man!

  • Thank you, I have more to upload!

  • Comment removed

  • totally out of curiosity, where the hell do you get all these? i have about 35-40 from about 25 different states (mainly my homestate, PA) but some rare finds like old PA ones, plus an alaska, hawaii, and personalized 1984 olympics california one

  • Junk yards, salvage yards, and I'm a member of ALPCA. I've also been collecting for about 3yrs now.

  • yeah i got some from this flea market place plus people get them for me and old family ones...

  • Yeah, I do that too. In my state, they are very hard to get, as they fine you if the tags aren't turned in.

  • that's pretty crazy, which state is that? pennsylvania just tells you to recycle them but they don't care

  • Maryland.

  • yeah i heard those are harder to find, but that i have the hardest to find (alaska, hawaii, rhode island, south dakota...)

  • South Dakota was hard for you to find?

  • it took a while, because i just kinda look and see what i can find, i don't go buying mass quantities on the internet, just kinda pick up whatever wherever... i was going to put a video of the 30 or so hanging in my room up this week, but my battery died, so maybe this weekend, can i post it as a video response to this?

  • Oh ok I see. That would be awesome to see a vid.

  • i'll try again in a few days...

  • OK sounds good!

  • Sweet collection and great vids... I can probably send you some plates to add to your collection too!! RR

  • Wow! that would be awesome! and thanks! also, thanks for the sub! great vids! I can't stop watching them!

  • Nice plates man.

  • Thanks! I appriciate it (:

  • where do you get most of your plates besides alpca? in my state they can suspend your licence if the catch you not returning your plates.

  • That is the same in my state. I do tend to go to ALOT of salvage yards(pretty fun!) and most will just let you leave with them for free, and I trade with other ALPCA members over the web. I do order them from eBay if I like the deal I see.

  • thanks!

  • No problem. Looks like you are pretty close to a 50 state run!

  • 35/50. i hope to increase that soon

  • You're doing great for a begginer! Good luck on getting a D.C. plate!

  • i think im going for arizona next. in my state, ive only seen a few d.c plates, and most of them were on cars. the southwest states are really where i need

  • Wont be hard at all to get any of those. when I started out, I found Vermont to be the hardest.

  • wyoming was the hardest for me

  • Found a Wyoming early on! lol

  • i was on ebay and over 3 different deals fell apart before i finally one, but it was worth it.

  • Cool! try a salvage yard, junk yard, antique stores etc. you can find great plates!

  • next time i see one, ill stop buy

  • It sure is worth it! Iv'e walked away with some great deals! once, got to leave with about 100 different plates from cars in a junk yard for free!

  • wow.

  • I was pretty siked then! I get family now in other states to go to salvage yards and get different plates for me.

  • i dont have a widespread family and dont vacation often, but there is a salvage yard in my town

  • Go to the salvage yard haha!!

  • if i could i would, but i dont go that way very often. next time i do, i will. one good thing about my state is that all plates since 1959 can still be used

  • Cool! yep, most states have the YOM (Year Of Manufacture) law where you can put plates on your vintage vehicle, Plates from 1920's+up can go for big money!

  • i figured somthing like that was in place. it would seem unlikely that plates on some vintage vehicles are original.

  • Oh the plates have to be original to be put on the cars, no fakes! Best vehicle I have seen, was a 1932 Virginia on a real nice restored car!

  • in the october plates magazine they had some nice motorcycle plates too.

  • Yep! so you are a member of ALPCA now?

  • yeah just a week or so ago i got my stuff

  • Congrats! welcome to the club!

  • thank you!

  • Lol you are welcome! you will enjoy the swap meets and being able to trade with other members!

  • i hope so. this group sounds very prosperous.

  • Since joining, I have made over 100 trades!

  • how long ago did you join?

  • nice. i am on ebay as we speak.

  • Awesome!

  • Vermont plates are my favourite. I also really love the Vermont state police plates. I like green!

  • Vermont plates are hard to get!

  • Cool, how many plates do you reckon you have in total?

  • Probably 700-1k, have tons hanging on my walls now too!

  • Nice! I hadn't seen the new Louisiana with the pelican and Mississippi with the lighthouse, or the Texas with the big star! Very cool! :) Jack

  • Thanks Jack for the comment (: My favorite plates are actually the MS and LA! Those Texas plates with the star I think are the best design Texas had!

  • I'm glad that Louisiana went back to the pelican! It's so in their history! :) Jack

  • Thanks for the comment Jack! Yes me too!
