I like Ubuntu 8.04 :( Stupid Sony hardcore the technology on their systems. now we can't mod...

there is a newer kernel and a debian based distribution called blackrhino out there ;) .. then you can simpyl use aptitude to upgrade/update your system... (ubuntu is based on debian)...

the only thing you would get some trouble with is that the ps2 has too low power for the WM of ubuntu/kubuntu/xubuntu....the only thing you can try is to install "fluxbuntu" ... ;) it is ubuntu with fluxbox as WM.. ;)

bäm there you go you have your ubuntu on your ps2 (: wit hthe latest software ;)

i personally have ;) ... but soft mods are a good alternative (: (my wii for example is soft modded and is as least as good as a hardware modded console ;) )

@kaiomatico I'm afraid you are wrong. I downloaded PS2 Linux and i have softmod. But it seems that the 2nd disc wont read it. So i think i need to hardmod my old system to ever get linux on it.

#2 how do you specify "system"? do you mean the "operating system"(linux which i show how i install?)

I THINK YOU HAVE NOOOOOOO idea about console modding and especially the LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM (which is btw more stable than windows)

as i wrote in the end of the credits, it is from the dj "plastician" from myspace and his song is called "japan"

i already showed in this tutorial of how to install them ;) it only sets the fluxbox-like wm as defautl like shown in my video... to change it you will need to go to the text mode,type in the command "sdr"

;) now have fun with that ;) (but beware:it is WAY more slow !!! )

a playstation 2 (the fat one is better ;) ) a network adaptor(for connecting a hd,usb hd's do not work as far as i know, a hd and usb keyboard (mouse is not needed for installation,but on a desktop it makes sense ;) )

if you have a modchip installed,you can download these dvd's from torrentspy , com

as I did....

if not,the tutorial with the unofficial way comes soon... I have only troubles getting my usb keyboard working right now ;) as far as this will be fixed,you can run it without these special dvd's ;)
