You can argue that others have in the past said the same thing--however, for Obama to use it NOW--just after Palin's joke at the convention about pit bull and lipstick is intentional to malign and misrepresent her.

Obama also, in the same sentence, said "You can wrap an old dead fish in newspaper, but it's still going to stink." So is he calling Palin an old dead fish, too? Give me a break. I've heard this exact same phrase regarding lipstick on a pig" given by politicians for years. John McCain, himself, use this exact same phrase to describe Hillary Clinton's healthcare plan just this year. How is that any different? The republicans need to get a grip and start taking Obama on on the actual issues.
