you can choose between 3 car classes: Tuner, Muscle, Exotic, there is a car for each car class, you pick tuner, you get RX8, you pick muscle you get Chevrolet Camaro SS, you pick exotic, you get Alfa Romeo Brera.

i always make the races to take the nissan 240 sx and make all the game with it..ok it's hard with darius but u can make him with it..( tuner tier 1)...challenge series..:D..and u get above 500.000$ if u keep them..so u can take any car u want :P and customize it..
