@Nothefaceyoubitch Could be that that mentioned gentelman was planning on a weekend in the country and therefore wore his appropriate attire, but it also depends on what kind of clothes we are talking about. You can wear a slim, brown brogue on the street or a brown jacket with no intention of going off to the green fields. Wearing brown you are always less formal but you can still be smashingly dapper.
I rather thought tweed was strictly for country pursuits? Never wear brown in town, and all that...
