One thing i don't like with Twilight Princess is the new stuff where you need to defeat your enemies to get through. Man you're outside, not even in a dungeon. Thios is the first time we need to do that in a Zerlda and it sucks. More Okami-like if you want a piece of my mind.
This game will always remind me of housing for my grandparents, and playing this on their big television at 11:00 at night with my sister. Good times.

@Blace12344 i think it all cones down to the story. i like how twilight princess shares some of the ocarina of times attributes. but then again, i played ocarina of time as a kid and for me that game it's just epic, it's like a staple in your life. i think a lot of people give OofT a lot of sentimental value for the same reason, regardless of how better or not twilight princess is. personally i love both games BUT ocarina of time takes the win for that reason.
I love classic zelda games but my favorites so far have been the 3d ones, they just feel so epic!!! P.S. Cant wait for Skyward Sword no matter what people say :D!!!!!

I waited 3 whole weeks and I was totally desperate to play it. Then on January 15, 2007, my mom suprised me with the Wii and I ran around the house excited. TP turned out an adventure I always wanted a Zelda game to be. It took me 4 weeks to beat it, *sigh* memories. :)

i feel like the LInk from OoT and MM is this links father idk its a feeling because now link is randomly a farmer i think Oot link hooked up with malon and not zelda because if it was with zelda link would be a prince and i think the heroes shade is Link from Oot and MM because in MM link was looking for navi in the lost woods and when hylians die there they turn to stalfos and well if the heroes shade (the guys who teaches you the moves) once defeated ganon then he has to be Oot & MM link

@linkthepimpofhyrule I dont think he's his son but he could very well be his distant relative. Throughout the game the gods of the springs and many characters refer to an "Ancient Hero", though there is never talk about a "Hero of Time". The Ancient Hero could very well be the Hero of TIme, or it may be talking about the Link in Skyward Sword. Could it be possible that since the Link in Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time may have been forgotten because he died in the Lost Woods?

Twilight Princess is a great game, but honestly it's one of my least favourites in the series. It really felt like a watered down version of Ocarina of Time, which sucks because it shouldn't be like that. I think maybe Twilight Princess was made in response to people who criticized Wind Waker for the graphics (which were perfect by the way!).
For Skyward Sword, I heard it wasn't influenced by past Zelda games. I hope so =3
I could go on a rant abou this game, but I won't because it implies I hate it, which I don't. I love it, and I'm already on my third playthrough. I'm discovering things I loved about the game I didn't see the first time I played it. I just wish this game was a little more original and had better difficulty. Thought so and know the graphics on Skyward Sword are solid. Graphics is not the heart its the resolution of the graphics in other words pixels. Also Twilight Princess was nice and all I love the game but the graphics were TOO realistic especially for a zelda game.
@swordlesslol I think it too, but it's still good you don't need any magic in the game. I always use magic too much so I don't have any left, so that maybe wouldn't be so suitable for me, hehe.
all i have to say about this game is it is amazing. it didnt ruin anything like most game series can do. it kept the original feel of zelda and expanded everything to a better place :) i really hope they are currently making another like this one
He was only right handed in the Wii version because the entire game was mirrored. Knowing that right handed players would be playing, it might've felt akward, they mirrored the whole game (Inc.Link) so it suited the right handed players. Dunno why though, considering the Wii controller isn't fixed, you can just switch them around in your hand but whatever.
I never quite understood why they didn't just have an option at the beginning asking which hand you were using to hold the Wii Remote, just edit Link's animations in game and just do it that way. The mirroring seemed a bit unnecessary to me.
Perhaps it was just some sort of excuse to make the GameCube version the least bit different from the Wii version.
They originally made the GCN version of the game for release ONLY on the GCN. Then when the Wii was going to be released they decided that they wanted a main title to release along with the Wii.
Now true Zelda fan's know that in EVERY Zelda game Link is Left handed. Thus, the need for flipping was present. Since the majority of Wii players are Right handed they Mirrored the game so it's convenient for right handed players.
@Kajalamorth95 Miyamoto said himself he had to rush wind waker to meet their deadline, they missed out two dungeons which were originally going to be in the game.
@SmashBrosBrawler so yeah thats the reason they make you find the 8 triforce pieces in the game rather than more dungeons,they ran out of time to make them.
The next Zelda Wii better be epic. I just need a game that will consume my time and that I will obsess over because it's so good. Twilight Princess was really good, but.. I didn't obsess, so it wasn't THAT good..
When OoT came out it was like nothing anyone had seen and when you are adult link the story just takes off and really gets epic. Great memories playing that game, great and difficult bosses. With TP which I also love, it felt unreal to be in a world like that, and to me, TP was a lot different than OoT and I thought it wasn't the same as OoT/ALttP at all. It was way different to me and epic, but the bosses were somewhat easy, great exploring game though, overall it was amazing as well as OoT
I felt the same, as actually i pretty much left my WW at the moment when you need to collect all the chapters and translate them with tingle, after that i went back to game after like 1 month and I finished it. It was good but had this long-maker like collecting chapter which is boring. When now I look at it, I must say it had it's own style, climat and that stuff. Pretty good. I still like OoT the most.
TP was made EXTRA for fans, like there was everything made just like fans wanted...
...and that's what kinda ... killed that game. I don't say it was bad, it was awesome, epic and all-around good but i felt like i missed something... I think it was that little originality that Nintendo puts in it's games. Too fan-defined it was :P
OoT always will have that special place in my heart :P
With OOT, I never felt the 'magic'. TP, gave me a thrilling feeling that I just didn't get with OOT and others. My second favorite zelda would have to be MM. It was really a lot of fun messing around with my brothers completed game.(I didnt ruin anything, I never saved) Anyway, this is only my opinion. And Pablo, a lot of people feel some sort of feeling while playing OOT. I just never did. Thanks for the reply btw. ^^
Probably you are some younger than me coz when OoT was a new game it was something REALLY BIG and new, fresh. I was just amazed by this game. Now new Zeldas just can't give me that amazing feelings, but still they are awesome. TP bad side was also the bosses, so freaking easy but at least nice looking in fight, none will tell me that dragon fight in sky city isn't epic.
I've played every game, and passed all of them, except for the Gameboy/Gameboy Color Zeldas (tried Link's Awakening, but file erased TWICE) and Zelda II. Working on Zelda 1 too.
I really loved the music in TP. Midna's Lament in particular is very amazing. OoT and MM are amazing too. I just think people should give TP some more credit. For me TP is better than MM lower than OoT. LTTP is my all time favorite though XD

does anyone remember the gdc 05 trailer? that was the greatest thing i had ever seen! however the graphics and enviroments were far inferior in the final game. this game was still good but ended up being a huge dissapointment. why does reality crush our dreams with such cruelty?
This is a good game but in my opinion it doent deserve to be called zelda because is too easy and it just doesnt anything new to the zelda games being wolf i useless and that stupid fishing (OBLIGATORY TWICE) minigame makes the game to fell weaker because stops you from advancing twice and is the only reason I dint go trough it on a week
I reckon this game would have felt a whole lot newer had they have used much, much more original music. As it sounds, it just seems like a cash in on OOT, which is as odd to say as it is to read. Which is a shame, because I think there could have been a new atmosphere exclusive to this game created, had they thought of giving it it's own musical flavour, like so many Zeldas of the past.
I just beat it and was unsatisfied... but handheld games don't really do it for me, Golden Sun was good though.
However no Zelda game wil ever beat OOT and MM. TP could never even touch the atmosphere of those games. For one Koji Kondo didn't even produce the soundtrack which is WASTED

nah man I think OOt is possibly one thousand times better than TP in every way. So is Majoras Mask. The Soundtracks were not even orchestrated on those games, it was the genius work of Koji Kondo, who didn't work on TP.
The woods which are in the game are a joke compared with the trailer woods.
Where is the giant covered in light and where are the cats Link is carrying? Sure, there is a cat in Ordon village but you can't even carry it. And it is just one single cat.
True, but you are forgeting the technology at that time, and ocarina of time is a great game as well, it had more complexity if you ask me dungeon wise, I deffintley like TP too, but you just can't beat the classics... So if you ask me some zelda games are great hits and some others don't rank up as well, but honestly all I can say is, To every zelda game, a well done job and they just keep getting better and better.
Twilight Princess is the best Zelda ever made. The only reason so many fans bash it is because it's not Ocarina of Time. OOT was the first 3D Zelda game. It gave us a sense of amazement and wonder, and no new Zelda can ever give us that same magic, which is why it's unfair to say this game isn't as good as OOT. You can't have nostalgia play a role in reviewing a game. It's not fair.

That is completely wrong if you ask me, Sure we were fascinated with 3d, but you forget about certain things as well, such as Storyline- TP beats OOT at that, Diffculty- TP beats OOT at some points, but OOT beats TP at others, Graphics- TP of course, but OOT actually wins this one if you ask me... It was the time period that made the diffrence, Experience-You said exactly OOT's experience, but TP gave us the experience of the wii-mote... so its a tie, but OOT is a classic. So OOT wins my vote.

yeah miyamoto said that they are at work on another zelda and mario at the same time. he said that twilight princess took almost 3 years to develop from concept to finished product. he said that he would like to have both the zelda an mario games out before they start the push for nintendo's new hardware. look for a very rough cut preview in early 2010.
I think the story for this game could have been a little better. Its still a great story and game though. I loved every moment of the game. They should do another game bringing back the hero of time.

they had to rush out the Wii version because they had it made for Gamecube, and it was a launch game for the Wii

They originally made the GCN version of the game for release ONLY on the GCN. Then when the Wii was going to be released they decided that they wanted a main title to release along with the Wii.
Now true Zelda fan's know that in EVERY Zelda game Link is Left handed. Thus, the need for flipping was present. Since the majority of Wii players are Right handed they Mirrored the game so it's convenient for right handed players.
Still GCN is better than Wii Version.

Because Link had always been left handed, but they decided the mirror the game on the Wii because the majority of the players were right handed.

When OoT came out it was like nothing anyone had seen and when you are adult link the story just takes off and really gets epic. Great memories playing that game, great and difficult bosses. With TP which I also love, it felt unreal to be in a world like that, and to me, TP was a lot different than OoT and I thought it wasn't the same as OoT/ALttP at all. It was way different to me and epic, but the bosses were somewhat easy, great exploring game though, overall it was amazing as well as OoT

I felt the same, as actually i pretty much left my WW at the moment when you need to collect all the chapters and translate them with tingle, after that i went back to game after like 1 month and I finished it. It was good but had this long-maker like collecting chapter which is boring. When now I look at it, I must say it had it's own style, climat and that stuff. Pretty good. I still like OoT the most.
TP was made EXTRA for fans, like there was everything made just like fans wanted...

...and that's what kinda ... killed that game. I don't say it was bad, it was awesome, epic and all-around good but i felt like i missed something... I think it was that little originality that Nintendo puts in it's games. Too fan-defined it was :P

With OOT, I never felt the 'magic'. TP, gave me a thrilling feeling that I just didn't get with OOT and others. My second favorite zelda would have to be MM. It was really a lot of fun messing around with my brothers completed game.(I didnt ruin anything, I never saved) Anyway, this is only my opinion. And Pablo, a lot of people feel some sort of feeling while playing OOT. I just never did. Thanks for the reply btw. ^^

Probably you are some younger than me coz when OoT was a new game it was something REALLY BIG and new, fresh. I was just amazed by this game. Now new Zeldas just can't give me that amazing feelings, but still they are awesome. TP bad side was also the bosses, so freaking easy but at least nice looking in fight, none will tell me that dragon fight in sky city isn't epic.

I've played every game, and passed all of them, except for the Gameboy/Gameboy Color Zeldas (tried Link's Awakening, but file erased TWICE) and Zelda II. Working on Zelda 1 too.

I really loved the music in TP. Midna's Lament in particular is very amazing. OoT and MM are amazing too. I just think people should give TP some more credit. For me TP is better than MM lower than OoT. LTTP is my all time favorite though XD

does anyone remember the gdc 05 trailer? that was the greatest thing i had ever seen! however the graphics and enviroments were far inferior in the final game. this game was still good but ended up being a huge dissapointment. why does reality crush our dreams with such cruelty?

This is a good game but in my opinion it doent deserve to be called zelda because is too easy and it just doesnt anything new to the zelda games being wolf i useless and that stupid fishing (OBLIGATORY TWICE) minigame makes the game to fell weaker because stops you from advancing twice and is the only reason I dint go trough it on a week

I reckon this game would have felt a whole lot newer had they have used much, much more original music. As it sounds, it just seems like a cash in on OOT, which is as odd to say as it is to read. Which is a shame, because I think there could have been a new atmosphere exclusive to this game created, had they thought of giving it it's own musical flavour, like so many Zeldas of the past.

I just beat it and was unsatisfied... but handheld games don't really do it for me, Golden Sun was good though.
However no Zelda game wil ever beat OOT and MM. TP could never even touch the atmosphere of those games. For one Koji Kondo didn't even produce the soundtrack which is WASTED

Personally I really like TP. I got OoT from virtual console, but it doesnt seem as good to me. I do agree with you on music though. They should have orchestrated the entire soundtrack.

nah man I think OOt is possibly one thousand times better than TP in every way. So is Majoras Mask. The Soundtracks were not even orchestrated on those games, it was the genius work of Koji Kondo, who didn't work on TP.

The woods which are in the game are a joke compared with the trailer woods.
Where is the giant covered in light and where are the cats Link is carrying? Sure, there is a cat in Ordon village but you can't even carry it. And it is just one single cat.

The giant is the guardian of Faron woods. The cats might be from the Hidden Village mini-game.

TP fucks with the storylines of the previous Zeldas, that's why I don't like it that much.
TP wins in difficulty? Do you know how easy this game is? Where is the challenge there?
TP is kind of a minigame collection with some story, some riddles and a bit of fighting. You can sumo ring, snowboard, fly a giant bird, etc.
Also many things out of the trailers weren't in the final game. Where's goma chasing link in the direction of the camera? Where are these HUGE woods?

True, but you are forgeting the technology at that time, and ocarina of time is a great game as well, it had more complexity if you ask me dungeon wise, I deffintley like TP too, but you just can't beat the classics... So if you ask me some zelda games are great hits and some others don't rank up as well, but honestly all I can say is, To every zelda game, a well done job and they just keep getting better and better.

Twilight Princess is the best Zelda ever made. The only reason so many fans bash it is because it's not Ocarina of Time. OOT was the first 3D Zelda game. It gave us a sense of amazement and wonder, and no new Zelda can ever give us that same magic, which is why it's unfair to say this game isn't as good as OOT. You can't have nostalgia play a role in reviewing a game. It's not fair.

That is completely wrong if you ask me, Sure we were fascinated with 3d, but you forget about certain things as well, such as Storyline- TP beats OOT at that, Diffculty- TP beats OOT at some points, but OOT beats TP at others, Graphics- TP of course, but OOT actually wins this one if you ask me... It was the time period that made the diffrence, Experience-You said exactly OOT's experience, but TP gave us the experience of the wii-mote... so its a tie, but OOT is a classic. So OOT wins my vote.

yeah miyamoto said that they are at work on another zelda and mario at the same time. he said that twilight princess took almost 3 years to develop from concept to finished product. he said that he would like to have both the zelda an mario games out before they start the push for nintendo's new hardware. look for a very rough cut preview in early 2010.

I think the story for this game could have been a little better. Its still a great story and game though. I loved every moment of the game. They should do another game bringing back the hero of time.

Got the game for the wii and it is fantastic. Bit tricky at some points and a bit challenging but that is what makes it fun.
