The lads have clearly had a few bevvies, jumped on stage...and had a good time! Whats wrong with that, I regularly do it...and end up getting escorted out by security! Good on ya boys!
maybe would have been better if rehearsed but if we wanted a perfect performance we would watch elton john or shirley bassey wouldnt we? madness are a fun band & a good band. pub band? wake up, thats why they still sell out all the arena's, finsbury park & race courses.
El toque especial q pet shop boys le puede dar, muy lindo el tema pero con psb se duplica, aguante pet shop boys y argentina carajo, lindo recuerdos les dejamos a estos 2 este gran pais
I would use milder adjectives, for there was an evident interest in PSB to cover the song and, as they solely rely on CG rhythms, should have banned Suggs and Chas onstage. If PSB decided not to they must have been aware of the risks involved, for which I can only enjoy a meeting of this sort as it is.
If I were interested in a flawless product, I'd check the PSB studio version available here in YT.
Neil corrected Suggs (0:50 - 0:56) and gave him the right cue (1:32) to start his vocals. Their complicity -and perhaps even friendship- when concocting this flawed though spontaneous, on-the-spot version is clear to me.
I respect anyone who can do better than myself in front of a live audience.
I agree with the late Bill Hicks, anyone that does a commercial is automatically off the artistic role call. Suggs is just shameless, flogging garden peas. PSB's have never done a commercial even when they were begged early on, they've refused to "do" royalty. Madness, despite their cockney geezer blokey image had no problem with genuflecting before people that think they're better than them and deserve to take your taxes to do nothing. Gawd bless yer your majesty, 'ave a plate o peas!
Maybe it's news to you, BuddaUK, but in the ordinary world people need to earn a living, so people who have jobs are commercial in that respect (and the same goes for bands). And even artists want to make a living. Donj't forget Bill Hicks sold his tickets, he didn't just give 'em away. So please stop talking rubbish, if you have a problem with Madness, just say so and don't hide it behind your politically correct drivel...
I think you're mistaking Suggs for Madness, since the rest of the band is not involved and they don't necessarily approve of it. As far as I'm concerned there's no need for him to do commercials, but that's up to him (and anyone else dabbling in the artistic world, for that matter) and it doesn't detract anything from Madness' music. Apart from that, it doesn't seem to bother The Pet Shop Boys... And did I mention Andy Warhol? ;-)
Honestly, as great as Bill Hicks was, I think there is nothing wrong with Madness flogging their name, likeness as much as they possibly can, so long as people are up for it.
Madness are artists who if they are successful are hardly living in the "ordinary world" after making a mint in the 80's. Sure Bill Hicks sold tickets to make a living but he didn't get sponsored because he made enough to live on. It's not politically correct to not behave like a greedy whore like Madonna. If you want respect as an artist you don't grin with a can of Pepsi for mega-cash, you sell tickets and albums. Btw Madness are OK, I was just disappointed in the advertising.
Nope, quite agree, it's up to Suggs, it's just a personal wince when I see someone I admire doing a commercial. If the Pets ever did one I'd be gutted. Maybe Suggs does need the cash, maybe not, fair enough I guess, but someone like Madonna has no excuse, that level of success means you absolutely don't have to hawk yourself like a greedy whore and you should be pilloried for doing so.
Greed comes in all shapes and sizes. Agree with you on Madonna, but I haven't got a clue whether or not Suggs needs the cash. What I do know is there are artists doing commercials in order to be able to create the things they like (well, at least over here). Apart from that, I can enjoy any art form regardless of whether I approve of the things the artist thinks he or she should (or should not) do.
I don't see a problem with people in the music industry doing advertising. Why do people think they're breaking some kind artistic code of honour and "sold out"? Noddy Holder has advertised beer (as has Suggs), Roger Daltrey has done American Express and even John Lydon is advertising butter. So what?
Tennant has a one of a kind voice and is one of the best song writers, vocals and human beings out there, but Suggs is a pretty funny character and has a voice that matches Mr. Lowe's fancy keyboard rhythms.
muy buena actuación. me gusta. neil está un poco frio, demasiado correcto. neil deberia dejarse llevar por la musica y los entimientos que ésta provoca. chris fantastico. i love PSB and i love suggs.......GUAUUUUU

This should definitely be released properly, with Suggs on vocals (apologies to Neil's demo). I can see it being an Ibiza anthem - a 'Boys and Girls' for 2008! This youtube version, depite being chaotic, has a certain something, and hints at what could be. Go on lads, do it!
Suggs was off face, either on alcohol or something a bit harder. Clearly they hadn't rehearsed it, but it was an amusing performance of a revamped Madness classic.
Great to be at the front of the stage to see Chris really get into the swing of things.
Probably not quite what Neil & Chris envisaged as it became a little anarchic... but hay that was always Madness...
As others have already said... please release it as a single in its own right, not only because it is a quality remix, but also as a fitting honour to Dainton and celebration of his life... awesome!!!

It's typical of the PSB's, nothing's
perfect. I'd have steared away from anything to do with madness tho. Madness are a pub act these days.

How many pub acts sell out the O2 Arena? Madness' new album (hopefully out this year), which they previewed in July, will be amazing.
