  • @MG06ZT Thanks Keith, I am fortunate in respect of scenery but starved of trains to film....Bob

  • The first images with the arrival of the train under the bridge are beautiful. Thank you for everything Bob, it's fantastic.

    Warren

  • @desdemona77 Thanks Warren, it was great to see and hear a 37 down here again...Bob

  • As always superb camera work, not into diesels, but still enjoyed,by the way my Aunt Jenny was from Carmarthen, went once by train, when i was 7or 8 about 65yrs ago when dad worked on railway, this just jolted my memory

  • @firemanvic36c A lovely story Vic, it won't have changed much since then , and I'm delighted that even a diesel video has brought back some happy childhood memories for you...Bob

  • You're having some damn fine locos in Wales lately. Great catch Bob and stunning clarity. I have this 47 as my desktop background too. Keith ;)

  • @MonochromeLoco The whole years action will pass through here during April and May, leaving the rest of it a little bland to say the least, so every one counts....Thanks again Keith...it's much appreciated...Bob

  • Great video Rob. And it reminds me of the happy days spent railfanning at Carmarthen Station. Seems a long time ago now.

  • @Bobcatonline It does doesn't it Rob, about time you made another visit now the weather's improving...Thanks again...Bob

  • Excellent video, I was on this tour and, seeing as it was passing through your territory, was looking forward to your videos. Despite the late running to Fishguard we actually managed to arrive at Bolton (where I got off) 3 early!

  • @37372 Thanks Tom, despite the delays, you couldn't have asked for better weather for your jaunt down to West Wales....fantastic to see the 37's back in Wales....Bob

  • Busy time in the wild West of Wales lately, what with this and the King. Carmarthen station seems to have been tidied up a bit.

  • @AndreiTupolev Thanks Andrei, Carmarthen has been extended so more platforms are now available, and the work is on going .....Bob

  • Thankyou for uploading Bob, do you know whats happening with the deltic that DRS bought ?

  • @bladesman123

Do you mean D9016? That's been sold to 55022's owner now, I believe. It's on the East Lancs.

  • Loved this video,great shots at Carmarthen.Chris.

  • @wooltman Thanks Chris, always a treat to see the 37's working back in Wales...Bob

  • Terrific video Bob,it must be a rare thing to see three engines on a railtour.............John

  • @johnwood57 It certainly is John, but it was the sight of 37's back in West Wales was the real treat....Thanks as always....Bob

  • Excellent footage mate. The Heart of Wales line really is beautiful, it makes a change from all these suburban lines.

It was an interesting day, had to do an emergency stop south of Ferryside as some prat walked across infront of us to get to the beach then promptly hid behind some rocks from all of our shouting. We were held up for quite a while too due to some problem at Carmarthen then on the way back the 47 had a moment of madness after leaving Crewe.

  • @Phil6219 Thanks Phil, it sounds as though there were many incidents to endure during the day, but hopefully it didn't prevent you from enjoying this lovely part of Wales...Bob

  • Beautiful landscapes ..... beautiful shots .... with stunning move the camera .... Another incredibly beautiful work .... Congrats Bob :)

  • @KAPNIZW Σας ευχαριστώ πολύ Σίμος, και είμαι ευτυχής να σας άρεσε ... Bob

  • Stunning video as usual Bob

    Dean

  • @Dean57010 Thanks Dean, it was great to see three locos looking so good....Bob

  • Superb footage yet again Bob..How great was it to see a couple of class 37's and a 47 back in southwales yesterday!!!...and well done 'Spitfire tours' for running such a glourious looking train and for putting up with 'Arriva' trains last min change of plans with such professionalism....maybe 'Arriva' should take a few tips.

  • @accubar I totally agree, there is little praise for the people behind these tours, that put in so much hard work in order that their customers have a great day out...Bob

  • Awesome video as always gutted I missed this well at least I got to see King Edward today

  • @dannytherev This was a real treat Danny, and the King today was superb wasn't it...Bob

  • Bob what a awesome shot of the country side and the approching train at the end

  • @canvids1 Thanks Wayne, it was the shot of the day for me as well..I've been out filming steam today to keep a look out for it...Bob

  • You must edit al your films as soon as you get home it take me a few day till I get round to editing one of my railway films.

  • @penninefilms This took me over six hours to do, but I enjoy it so not a chore...Thanks again...Bob

  • @robmasterman That faster than I get mine don in.

  • Nice work Bob. Good to see premier power in West wales again!

  • @simonpilk I've been waiting to see 37's down West for a long time Simon, so this was a special day for sure...Thanks for watching...Bob

  • I do like seeing these old vintage diesels, my very own teen era. I loved that shot as the train arrived at the station, in fact I was expecting to see it pull out from there too, but you didn't disappoint with the final long shot, marvellous scene.

Just has to be a thumbs up Bob.

    Paul :-))

  • @Bevoin1970 I was originally West of Carmarthen Paul, then the train was reported being nearly an hour late, so in case it went no further than Carmarthen, we went to the station, it then suddenly left when I was in the wrong place to do any filming..Can't win them all eh!...Thanks as always...Bob

  • great video bob with some nice scenes at carmarthen and the flats.5*. Bob what web sites do you go on to find out about tour dates.

  • @lennze1 Thanks very much, details of forthcoming tours can be found in most Railway publications, or from the web sites of Tour Operators...Bob

  • Do you know why the train was running late? 5star video.

  • @railwaylive We got held up for an hour going into Camarthen because of late running Arriva trains, and also we had to have an emergancy stop because a wedding party decided it would be to a good idea to take pictures of each other on the track. The Class 37 missed one of the people by inches.

  • @railwaylive Thanks for the rating, I'm not sure exactly why such a long delay, but I did hear mention that a thirteen coach train and three locos was a tight fit for Carmarthen station...Bob

  • Lovely shot of the train along the flats Bob. Was the old steam shed at Carmarthen behind the tower on the left hand side?

  • @siobhan104 Thanks very much Tim, the steam shed was behind the water tower, opposite where the coaches are seen....Bob

  • Good to be with you again Bob..........Mike

  • @modemeyes Nice to have you back Mike, Thanks again...Bob

  • Superb clips Bob. The locos look splendid in the spring sunshine. I had the priviledge of seeing County of Essex in action during her brief spell at the Mid-Norfolk railway.

  • @cmeonthemove They certainly did, all credit to those behind the scenes...Thanks for watching...Bob

  • Nice one Bob, all well captured.

  • @salopia Thank you Roger, your support welcome as always...Bob

  • I was on this, considering the disapointment of not going to Tenby, it turned out a good tour. Superb filming! especially on that last shot

  • @DavidMichael182 Thanks very much for watching, and it's great to hear that you enjoyed your visit to West Wales, despite the problems earlier.....Bob

  • @DavidMichael182 Considering we only just avoided running over wedding guests by the coast

  • Great Video!!

Saw 37688 & 37194 today back at Stockport...

Couldn't get a photo as the driver stopped them past the end of the platform!!

  • @moxon2313 What a shame, and thanks very much for your comments...Bob

  • That last shot is terrific. Were you per chance stood on a large block of concrete with another guy? If so, I do believe I saw you as we passed. Thanks for sharing.

  • @RallyBasher Thanks very much, and it was me and a friend of mine stood on that bunker..well spotted, and I hope, that despite the problems that you enjoyed your day out to West Wales...Bob

  • Got some photos of this at Carmarthen . Any idea what caused t edelays with this. I know there was problems with the doors not closing properly on the pacer which worked the 14:00 Swansea - Pembroke Dock .

  • @veolia215 Not sure Anthony, but it was rumoured that a train of thirteen coaches and three locos was too long for the smaller platforms at Carmarthen...Bob

  • @robmasterman Yes i noticed that the train was longer than the platform at Carmarthen although it was only the class 47 that was beyond the signal at the top of platform 1

  • A stunning compilation of some fine locos here Bob. Great choice of locations especially the one in the final clip...Fred.

  • @nxea170202 Thank you Fred, that's very kind of you to say so....Bob

  • Excellent video Bob,it was a breezy day .It was rather a delay on the outward leg but they done well to catch up time on the return.(C&A)

  • @EMuksteam They certainly did, and thanks again for your support...Bob

  • again, Bob you have produced a fantastic compilation of the day. as I encountered, it was difficult to make any shots of the train at Carmarthen due to the long train length

  • @JPMiller14 Thanks Justin, I was going to catch it West of Carmarthen but when it was delayed, I came back to the station, then wasn't able to get back out in time...Bob

  • nice video bob. shame it was not openned up on the first shot. i hear some where it wasn't going Fishgaurd. thumbs up

  • @GJDobbzy Thanks Gareth, first it was Tenby, then Fishguard, then Carmarthen, then finally it went to Fishguard...what a day...Bob

  • Superb video Bob! Nice choice of locations and well filmed.

    Thanks for Sharing!

  • @stuvids Thanks Stu, just wished I'd been able to get some more thrash...Bob
