the begginings change depending on what race and class you choose at the start of the game. thats why the game is called 'origins'.

or at least thats what i am led to believe, im getting the game in about an hour so i shall find out :)

i dont think its as open world in terms of you can just explore a vast region and go anywhere. its more linear, think like final fantasy or knights of the old republic.

however it is still an open world of sorts, but like i said i dont have it yet so i can't say for sure, im only going on what i've read

well the guys who made this game (bioware) also made knights of the old republic. and personally i think that was the best fucking game i've ever played.

what i can say for sure is dragon age should have a great story, and surely get you zapped in. but remember its an rpg, so i'd only buy it if you enjoy rpg style games, i had a guy earlier saying this game was crap because of the combat, but he clearly did not know what he was in for

Every single video ad for this game has been extremely deceiving in how it's absolutely nothing like its actual game-play. I recently bought this game and I am afraid to say that it is filled with flaws in almost every aspect that end up destroying the overall experience. It seems like an unoriginal attempt to mash Lord of the Rings and Oblivion(GotY 2006) into one RPG, while being massively subordinate to both.

Biggest disappointment in 2009. Some people did a lot of great work to make this game, but they screwed it up anyway. Overall balance, loot dropping, combat system, character development look half baked to me, and I wonder why this game got so many top reviews??? I smell a rat, it doesn't deserve more than a 75% rating, tops! And I've been into RPGs for over 20 years now, so don't say "maybe it's just not your kind of game". I could design a better system and balancing, for sure.

This game looks awesome, but its of those games where all you do is: OMG baddies!!! pause. select 1 guy, tell him to attack one enemy select another guy tell him to attack this other enemy resume pause again tell this guy to move back a bit tell this other guy to cast x spell resume pause again... resume, pause X200 yeah. not fun. you can play in Easy Mode without pausing, but then whats the point?
