@NikeSwoosh407, ausinfranze1 is wrong about the Hifonics amp only. The BXi 2010D does maybe 1600 real watts, ***IF*** you can maintain voltage at 14.4 volts. The Sundown is a million times better in every way, but also twice the price too. That amp will EASILY do 2000 watts at 12 volts. If you can maintain your voltage above 12.5 or higher it will do better than 2500 real unclipped watts. A SAZ-1500D will eat the Hifonics amp for lunch as well. Not only that but it's much more efficient too.

On another not it will leave holes in your box and you can fill them but if the box is already carpeted then it's gonna be a pain.

@ChocolateSteez Depending on the car an open area. If you can mount it to the back of your seats or make an amp rack that would be preferable and ideal. If you do mount to the box as that may be your only option then you need to make a dampened mount. It needs to use rubber and some other items to make the vibrations stop. If your amp is getting vibrated especially when it's hot and pushing a ton of power it won't last long and will fail.

I really wouldn't mount the amp on the box on a system with that kind of power. I rattled two amps apart before I learned that, and this is on a 1200W system with two 15's. And yes, that is too much box flex.

Otherwise, that thing must hit hard. I'm ordering my BTL 18 tomorrow... :-D

You know what though? The box would have to be bolted to the vehicle well for box-mounting an amp to be safe since the vehicle would absorb the vibrations better instead of leaking the vibrations just to the box. I had eight 10s in my Tacoma with a 1200W Rockford amp and for over a year and a half the amp went fine, but I bolted the box to the cab anywhere I could.

Excluding costs, I heard the LMS 5400 18" sub from Tc sounds is better than an a Fi 18 BTL. It's rated @ 10000 watts RMS, but actually gets 6000 watts.
