Oh hai! Have you thought about intellectus diet (do a google search for intellectus424dietcom)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cousin lost crazy amounts of weight with it.
Works for me and makes sense when you analyze the science behind food chemistry. To make it brief: proteins are macronutrients, wich means they must be teared down into micro so that they can be absorbed (last transformation: enzymes). So it doesnt makes a lot of sense to eat the macro when you can eat the micro at first hand. Veggies and fruits are already in an pre-enzymatic/enzymatic shape (of course they have to be digested but with much less energy). From Peru, hope my english was fine
This is exactly what I was searching for, do you have any recommendations on what I can eat? I'm big, and plan to get bigger, and know this will work, I have the work ethic to prove it, but I'm trying to learn what kind of meals I need to put together.
It seems like in the bodybuilding community people care about 2 things:
1. How much you can lift
2. How you look
the interesting thing is, 'INNER HEALTH' is IMHO more important than either.
Whey pollutes your blood, is incredibly hard to digest (ever smell the gas of someone who eats Whey, it stinks!) leeches calcium from your bones, and taxes your body.
Why not go with sprouted brown rice protein, Spirulina and Quinoa? Everything you need for mass, strength, and HEALTH.
wikipedia says that protein combining is a myth you dont need to do it...
but if i eat meat do i really need to add rice to my beans right at that meal or can i just eat egg in one meal and beans in another and meat in another and get the total enzymes i need? or do i have to eat it WITH the beans at the specific meal?
Do you have scientific evidence via articles to proof your 'view'. Cus all you have is your point of view as far as I see and no facts. So I would like to see where you got your point of view from in a form of scientific articles which are peer reviewed.
@SicSeb ..wouldnt you say personal experience is valid? So many sientific studies and peer reviews are inacurate and rigged by the companies sponsoring them. He has facts... the fact that the raw food has worked for him. Also what evidence is there against what hes saying? Have you seen most americans lately? out of shape & no energyn on a SAD. Have you ever tried eating raw? You immediately have more energy & strength. Hes only making a video to help not hinder. hes not getting money from this
People need to understand that eating high amounts of animal proteins are not easy for the body to deal with and plant oils are much better for the natural order of the human body
@istaeclipse We evolved eating raw meat, later we started cooking it. We evolved eating fruits and eating vegetables. But we didn't eat this many weats and vegetables until we stopped being hunter gatherers.
thats why u look over-prossessd and fake with ur body coz u used to eat too much fake animal protein which makes u fat and is very unhealthy now ur body will be lean fit an real lean muscle not over bloated fake muscle like it used to cant waite too see ur body in 3 months with all ur training
Ever since i decided to change my protein intake from 1gram of protein per 1lb of body weight to 1gram of protein per 1 Kilogram of bodyweight, i feel 10 times better. I was at 170lbs and shredded down to 155 over a few months. I became leaner than ever. I wasnt as bulky as i was but i was faster, stronger, powerful, you name it. I had more energy and felt better! And on top of that, My diet throughout the weeks consisted of alot of fruits, veggies, and medium amounts of complex carbs!
And the best part is i look bigger than i was, because of the lean muscle you get the appearance of being bigger! So i can hold truth to some evidence that RAW foods has played a role in my development of the perfect specimen.
I do 78g protein shakes(2 shakes a day) and with food around 40 on top so around 120 grams of protein a day my weight is 90kg, am i ok to take that much??
@lay4life I think that is more than enough to get the job done. Just make sure you are using your weight in muscle mass and subtract your percentage of total fat and use that for your total protein intake. I go into this more in episode #100 part 1 and 2
@RawFoodMuscle thanks, yes i got a bit of belly, so what protein i take is diet promax from maximuscle, results are noticed after 1 week, honestly, some fat reduced with p90x, i also take 4 softgels maxi-efa a day it's omega 3,6 fats
@lay4life The ratio is 0.75 gr pr kilo (2.2 pounds), the body may be able to support 2/3 of its daily protein needs by itself.. if you eat 1 gr pr 2.2 pounds then you will be fine.. so for you about 90 grams of protein, preferibly from wholefoods and not from protein shakes.. as isolated protein is not healthy, you need the fibre and you need the complete package. =) Check out also the McDougal diet, unless you are a raw vegan. =)
Really on point... I remember when I first heard this stuff and thought it was crazy. I first heard tim van orden talk about this on his "protein myth" video. I've been a raw food eater now for over a year and with raw sprouted nuts I have seen my muscle mass grow to much larger sizes than it was before.
Love the video. I also came from a bodybuilding background. Today I am a vegan and about 95% raw and I feel stronger than I have felt in a long time. If someone would have told me even a year ago that I would be strong on Raw foods I would have thought they were crazy.
Of course another protein myth is that there is only one kind of protein, there are many proteins and humans chemically require several. There are even minor differences in some of the same proteins depending on the source and preparation of the food item (some of the same proteins will be more easily broken down from cooked meat for example) and due to factory farming raw foods can be dangerous. Raw meat and even raw plants can be contaminated with ecoli, and raw eggs can contain salmonella.
@starvingarvin I am not the only one who has been able to build muscle from raw foods. I have been lifting weights for over 20 years and I used to think meat and eggs where the best way to build muscle. But now I know from experience that raw foods such as sprouts, spinach and kale can give me the same if not better results then meat. I know this is hard to understand, I was the same way until I tried and felt how much energy and strength I gained. Thanks for watching.........Much Respect
@RawFoodMuscle Negative. Your thought processes are far from correct. Just because you managed to get into good shape over time does not mean you understand the reasons why it happened.

RawFoodMuscle,
Please don't continue to pretend to have any idea that you know what you are talking about. It isn't helpful to anyone and is actually probably damaging to those who watch and don't know any better. If you do actually think you are correct, just stop and think about how much you are kidding yourself.
@RawFoodMuscle yo rawfoodmuscle, i was wondering if you could give me just a very brief description of what you eat throughout the day? it would be much appreciated, thanks.
@starvingarvin I don't know man.... I was a vegetarian for 3 years in california. Moved to TX and dropped that. Then the last year or so have been playing around with all of it. I lift weights and do martial arts. I started playing around with the raw foods thing and I feel AWESOME! ENERGY is off the chain. I still occasionally drink a protien shake a day cause I get worried I am not getting enought protien, but I will never go back to eating anything but raw man.
@AshLionHeart I agree with you, that is what I used to think years ago based on information that was popular back in those days and that is way I know that information is wrong. That is way I can still build muscle now without ingesting such high amounts of protein. What I was explaining in this video, is that we were told wrong information. Please listen to the whole video so you can understand.
I have, I stopped at that focal point because the information of the "past" is a wrong misconception based on the formula itself, not the results. I've done everything in terms of every diet there is out there. Everyday for the past week, I've eaten 350g's+ days recently just to test something out.
Positively a pure percentage of that protein increase gave me growth (even if it were 1%), which to most bodybuilders, is significantly high.
@AshLionHeart I'm glad you listened to the whole video, thought you didn't when you said you stopped at 0:40. But yes that informaton is over 20 years old and thats why I pointed out that it was not correct. Most people think you need lots of protein to build muscle which is not correct and the reason why I made this video. I am living proof that you can build muscle on raw foods.
But what you're saying is the formula is out of date, which it isn't. A 200lb man that formulates 1.2g's of protein per muscle mass which equals 109g's of protein intake overall, ISN'T A HIGH NUMBER TO ACHIEVE. 40-30-30 is a prime example.
So really are you saying that the 40-30-30 formula is too much?
To say that is out of date is also saying 1,000's of people never lost weight and got big and lean. This is where I point out the fallibility of the "protein myth" theory.
In all honesty, what it comes down to, is the person's natural body metabolism, and body in mind itself. What works for me doesn't work for anyone, far and few at least.
Question really comes down to this...
It's not about how much protein(s) you need, it's about do you need that amount of protein?
@AshLionHeart YES!!!....Thats what this video is all about. we dont need high amounts of protein in order to build muscle mass. It all comes down to hard work in the gym, genetics and good quality foods.
Another issue I can argue is that if this were true, then why are bodybuilders huge? Steroids are NOT the end all be all, because it's much much more than shooting up. Sure it helps, but doesn't protein shakes "cheating" too? If protein wasn't such a "great" source and a "myth" to how their diets are, then bodybuilders shouldn't be as big as they are now. Ever.
@AshLionHeart I think you need to listen to the video again. I never said you cant build muscle on eating high amount of protein. I said that is not the ONLY way to do it. There is a much healthier way to build muscle that wont put your liver through all the stress. I use to eat lots of meat and eggs for years which made me big but it also cause internal problems. You need to listen to the video and understand what I am saying.
I might have actually misunderstood what you said and what your goal is to get out there, but again it comes back down to "everybody's different". I have not ever had one day where I've had internal problems ever being 27 and becoming younger while eating pure amounts of meats, fish and poultry.
@AshLionHeart Again, I just wanted to say that eating HIGH amounts of protein is not the ONLY way to build muscle mass. Raw foods are just a healthier choice and promotes a long and healthy life.
Meats are raw wholesome foods though, just as vegetables and fruits. Things that "spoil" are good for you.
But you can't identify any numbers towards "veggie's and fruits promote longer life span". Most people are allergic to veggie's and fruits.... what then?
Every source has a place for itself... but maybe I'm overthinking this way too much.
@AshLionHeart Yes, people are allergic to certain fruits and veggies and eat the ones that they are not. Some people raw meat and it makes them feel great. Like you said it's all mind and body. What ever works for each person
Thank you so much for this set of videos. I am going down the raw path to achieve health and loose weight. My son is a body builder and power lifter. I have been encouraging him to try raw and the protein thing has come up! This was a blessing!
But it's about getting the amino acids directly from the source such as dark green instead of your body having to digest all the cooked meat which has toxins and takes away your bodies natural enzymes in order to break the food down. Why not go straight to the source, especially if it gives you more energy and better healthy. Awesome comment, thank you so much :)
Remember amino acids comes from protein and all foods have amino acids so you have to count all the food that is being eaten in the day not just the kale. Also the RDA has a lot invested in putting information out that makes money for the dairy and meat industry and that is why veal, lamb, beef and so on are at the top of the list of recommended protein intake, not to mention the protein levels of the meat are based on it being raw. Once cooked the protein levels are lowered by half.
Santiago, thanks for replying. I realize that protein accounts from all the different sources not just kale, I only used kale as an example for my calculation. What's hard for me to believe is that the RDA could produce such falsified numbers which are based on peer-reviewed journal articles. I mean, I realize that there is a lot of bent info. coming out these days, and I guess it's not impossible to think nutrition recommendations made by large bodies such the RDA could be a part of that.
It's getting more and more difficult to distinguish the actual truth from such a large body of knowledge and information that's available nowadays (knowledge that you'd think is coming from a reputable source). To think that the RDA could be producing numbers to benefit the meat and dairy industry is a scary thought.
My understanding is that our bodies have break down proteins from animal sources into their amino acid chains to use them. So, by eating a diet EXTREMELY HIGH in amino acids (veggies, fruits, seeds, nuts), we reduce the step of our body having to break anything down to use. Muscle develops when nourished and when you "PUT IN THE WORK" as you say. You are the proof of that!! Looking forward to part 2 now!! Way to go, Santiago, for bringing this important point to the forefront! :)
I've been taking some hemp protein and some brown rice protein and it's pretty good. I've stopped taking protein from soy and animals and feel a heck of a lot better.
...cont'd...Seeing is to how 1gram of protein is 4kcal 3g of protein form 100g of kale contains 12kcal which means 300/12 = 25 bunches of 100g (2.5kg) of Kale would have to be eaten to meet your requirements through a raw vegan diet for protein, to me that seems like A LOT!!!
I want to believe this but I am conflicted. 100g of kale at best contains about 3g of protein, which accounts to about 25% of the calories from protein (seeing how 100g of kale has 50 calories). An average individual who exercises at least has to be consuming about 15% his/her calories from protein (based on the numbers from the RDA). 15% of a 2000kcal diet is about 300 calories, which a person has to consume from protein --> cont'd..
I left my comment on the second part of your video... but I want to say here - again - thank you for being an example of muscle without tons of protein. I couldn't imagine having to eat 150 grams of protein per day... that's sickening. Spread the good word!
No, I do not use any kind of those supplements, just stick with natural foods. I do not compete in any powerlifting or bodybuilding events. I was offered sponcorship by worlds gym years ago but turned it down because I felt there was too much abuse of supplements in order to compete.
Hi thanx for the video.Yeah its amazing if you look at nutrient dense foods kale is number one.
I mean it leaves beef behind.

Wrong, it's between .9-1.2g's of body MASS (e.g. muscle) in kg's. .9 being the least as a casual, and 1.2 for overall athletics or very active people.
Get the facts straight.

@AshLionHeart Yes, people are allergic to certain fruits and veggies and eat the ones that they are not. Some people raw meat and it makes them feel great. Like you said it's all mind and body. What ever works for each person

Damn man, if this is true then the whole protein (meat) thing is a BIG lie. And I'm not surprised.

I've stopped taking protein from soy and animals and feel a heck of a lot better.

...cont'd...Seeing is to how 1gram of protein is 4kcal 3g of protein form 100g of kale contains 12kcal which means 300/12 = 25 bunches of 100g (2.5kg) of Kale would have to be eaten to meet your requirements through a raw vegan diet for protein, to me that seems like A LOT!!!
mikek241 2 years ago

RawFoodMuscle 2 years ago
Do you or have you ever competed in bodybuilding or powerlifting events? I was also wondering if you use any kind of creatine supplements ?
