@whtcanbrwnd04u I have a 06 stage 3.. with a pulley and tune, on a baby m90 with 4:10 gear and DOTs. I have beat at least 4 GT500's from a dig. They don't hook. their susp is total garbage. The old terminator cobra's pulled are faster regardless of base than most of the s197's I have seen worked up. They weigh like 4000 lbs. If I want to out run the SVT Brick... all i have to do is hit my brake or go into a curve bone stock. Moreless tuned.
@mcbrown36 lol. No way in HELL does a stock 427r beat a GT500 in ANY type of race, regardless of year. A guy in the stang club im a member of, has a bone stock 427r and couldn't even beat my 06 gt. At the time I had 3.73 gears, SCT tune, K&N CAI, Borla catback, and a Zex 100shot. We have several GT500's in our club and with that SAME setup, I couldn't beat even 1 of the gt500's. Most which were factory stock as well. I usually lost by about a car and a half to the gt500's.
I have to agree with you there. I will say, I do love the 427R though...Especially the 2010-11' models. Even the S197 427R is awesome. Of course I love the GT500 as well. I know for 2011 they switched to an aluminum block and took about 100 pounds off the front end & gave it 10 extra HP to a whopping 550! The 510 LBFT isn't too shabby either =)
I did see a Saleen vs Roush comparison test and on a road course the Roush was superior. It would probably take a GT500 as well. Not straight line but in the twisties...You guys are kinda arguing over tits. They are all good in some way.
Second video I've seen where this retard GTO driver misses 4th. Stick to an auto if you can't shift properly instead of banging gears and hitting your rev limiter constantly by missing a stupid easy shift. This is a "poor mans" Corvette hanging with the only "high performance" offering that Ford has. And don't say "Well what about the GT500?" Its a rebadged built Mustang. Same car and bodystyle. I've got basic bolt ons, a tune, and a bit of nitrous. I payed 22k for the car used, and just a few G's on mods. My parents payed 70K.

Don't knock automatics. They're not the same as they were 10 years ago. In today's performance cars, they're programmed to milk every bit of the car's power out at the peak of the power band. Which means they don't miss gears, ever, and they shift a HECK of a lot faster than we do. The fastest car I was ever in was an automatic, and this is coming from a former racetrack STI owner and, currently, a Mustang GT Kenne Bell Supercharged, MANUAL, owner.

@mcbrown36 There is no such thing as a v6 GTO. The 04 ones (in the video) came with a 5.7 v8 350 hp. The 05/06 models came with a 6.0 400 hp. Both mods and dyno number listed are accurate.

@outcast1011 Have you ever driven a GTO? The stock shifter, when it's in gear, feels like neutral in any other car. It's very sloppy. I dropped into 2nd many times in mine just trying to downshift from 5th. 3rd to 4th on a hard shift would hit dead spot alot of times when trying to quick shift.

@tangledline Go to BMRsuspension's website, and look at the "DRP001 - Drag Race Package (Level 1)" for $980, I have that, plus the subframes. That made a tremendous difference in my 60ft times, and as a result, my trap speed. Give me 4 months and I'll make a vid for you, ill even include your name in the audio if you would like. I'm in the middle east right now, so my stuff is in storage. (Army)

Don't knock automatics. They're not the same as they were 10 years ago. In today's performance cars, they're programmed to milk every bit of the car's power out at the peak of the power band. Which means they don't miss gears, ever, and they shift a HECK of a lot faster than we do. The fastest car I was ever in was an automatic, and this is coming from a former racetrack STI owner and, currently, a Mustang GT Kenne Bell Supercharged, MANUAL, owner.

@whtcanbrwnd04u Ok 500 hp and a big block, while I have 435 and a small block. My car weighs alot less than a gt500 bro. Im just sayin ive outran 2. 1 rolling from 30 and 1 from a dead stop. Not saying i SMOKED them, but I did beat them both. And I plan on having the mutha thumpr cams and pulley upgraded within about a month ... and of course with those mods it'll require tuning. Im hoping to hit around 425rwhp :/

@mcbrown36 There is no such thing as a v6 GTO. The 04 ones (in the video) came with a 5.7 v8 350 hp. The 05/06 models came with a 6.0 400 hp. Both mods and dyno number listed are accurate.

And sorry but just from Headers, Intake, and a Tune, your not gaining 70HP. I don't know here your getting your gains from but they're deff inaccurate bro.

really? No GTO was a V6, they only came with LS1 (first year 04) and LS2 (05-06), with 350 and 400hp respectively. Though the Mustang might be down on power, it is lighter than the GTO, the outcome of this race is not surprising, BTW you are an idiot ethug

@outcast1011 Have you ever driven a GTO? The stock shifter, when it's in gear, feels like neutral in any other car. It's very sloppy. I dropped into 2nd many times in mine just trying to downshift from 5th. 3rd to 4th on a hard shift would hit dead spot alot of times when trying to quick shift.

@outcast1011 You put it back in second, or sixth gear. Generally fourth gear is one where you pull down so for me sometimes I get lazy or since I'm comfortable with my car I thought it would be enough oomph to get it there but nope.

youll always loose to the GTO stock v stock. i could take 5 grand to a fucking cobalt and beat a stock mustang gt. i mean you cant compare modded cars unless they are very similarly modded. which these are and the GTO looks like it has some pretty heavy wheels too, just saying. and besides all other points the GTO looks haus and you dont see 50 of them on the way to work/school like you do mustangs. hahaha
