At 6:53 when the white rook took your pawn, it seems to me like a catastrophic mistake on his behalf, and inevitably becomes one, any ideas what he could have been thinking when he did that?
jrobi youre a good teacher but you dnt apply it to your games ..why????...i play on fics as well...my handle is novanicole..am a begginer too...lets play ...
I agree - have been trying to cut down, but it's hard when you have a busy week with work and family. Very tempting to play some speed chess in the off-times that come up.
Alot of players are happy to trade their bishop for a knight, but in my opinion a bishop is alot more usefull for later stages in a match, ive not played for very long so i was just wondering your opinion on that?
I like to keep my good bishop (the one that is attacking more pieces of the enemies same color) and get rid of bad bishops (the bishops that are blocked in by your own pieces).
Would you say it was a serious blunder on his part at 3:57 to move his knight c3? I was thinking 2 better moves would be knight to c5 or king to d6, both moves ending with him getting your pawn for free, while his pawn is still on c file instead of d.
Obviously, a very fast paced blitz game, but i think it shows how one move, near the end can quickly change the outcome of a game.
Very interesting - I will plug it into my viewer and check it out. Totally agree about the blitz statement and how one move can really swing things either towards a winning position or a completely lost position!
yup...this time, the eyes are quicker than the hands but less quicker than the mind...--isn't that ryt? i mean thats my own understanding about blitz...nice play there jrobi.
i love the blitz way...long game gets me bored.i mean i'm not kasparov or any chessmaster, i just love to play chess. especially chess puzzles...perhaps you got lots there.
i guess you man is national master or a grndmaster perhaps that played lots of tournaments...
Nope not at all - just learning the game the best I can. I started making this videos to help me get better through talking about chess, and getting feedback from subscribers. It's helped a great deal. Thanks again for checking out the video!
"Understatement of the Century!" hehe Falsified! =)
When I hit that knight I was pretty happy, really enjoyed that position for sure, especially in a quick blitz game. Thanks for checking out the video and looking forward to your next one!
I'm really running out of ideas for videos though. And every time I record a live game it turns out bad: Either my opponent blunders or it's a boring game or I play horrible. :-(
Your last series of that long match you had was awesome, commentary throughout was excellent. Maybe more of those until you get something else planned?
I enjoy the 3 min blitz simply for fun - definitely prone to more errors under those time constraints, but it's fun to see how many lines you can remember under pressure. =)
What program is that?
HippyMaMoSwine1 11 months ago
@1:34 a better move would be Rd1 attacking the bishop. If he would move that bishop, the knight on d7 falls.

lol at 7:20 when you are a rook ahead and picking his last chance of winning up "i think im pretty comfortable"

Sorry OTB just means "Over-the-board" -tournaments with actual chess sets and people - not on the internet.

Aiming at promotion if you don't take, and he can retake pawn if yu do. This game should have been a draw.

Playing Speed Chess over the internet might hamper your development over the board.

Man, it might just be the PBR talking but I've never enjoyed watching someone play chest so much!
Also... did you end up getting the 22" monitor?
Seawaffle2021 4 years ago
I didn't unfortunately! It's still on my "list" of things to get relatively quickly though. Thanks for checking out the vid and the comment! =)

"So I'm in a pretty solid position here."
Understatement of the Century!
Also, in the 1st game, your knight on d6 illustrated an idea called "domination." It really cramped his position a lot, especially his rook.
