  • My transmission works perfectly and is exceptionally quiet and responsive. 2012 Ford Focus Titanium

  • Comment removed

  • ford is not good in sport cars ,so its a big foot on this filed ,they should care more

  • @niggashit36 i wish you posted this comment earlier, my 2011 Fiesta's transmission started having wierd noise two months ago and its getting louder and louder, the dealership couldn't figure out whats causing it and kept saying this is a new technology and the noise is normal..and until last new week, the gears stop changing and this time, they said the transmission needs to be replaced and i am still waiting for the parts. Dont trust any new tech.

  • Wait until self driving cars become the hot topic, imagine the presentation there.cars swerving and doing crazy ballets on a small stage like that without hitting each other. And then a guy runs in the middle of all of it and doesn't get hit.

When Jim talks it feels like he's dragging the words out of his brain.

  • Screw the car, I want those projectors!

  • love the light show!

  • Great review. I'm in the process of buying a new car. I've always liked the ford focus esp this new one. I'm between Honda civic 5d hatchback or This new ford focus!!!

  • So give mazda credit. It's not all american.

  • 2 weeks till i get mine :)

  • 2011 Elantra....move over

  • The car looks nice and interesting, but Jimmy's presentation was a big load of BS.

  • What happened to the iconic rear lights, dont like the grille, too much going on the dashboard, too much fancey extras, what has america done! Apart from that its the same as the last European Model.

  • Yes!! Finally a European - Looking American Car by Ford. Great Job Jim.

How about a Street Legal, Four-Wheel Drive Turbo Rally Version with 4 or 500 Horsepower?!?!!!!!

  • @dcracing1 in Europe Ford produce performance versions of the Focus under the ST, RS and RS500 designations. I think I'm correct in saying the RS500 (as a strictly limited edition) is the most powerful and puts out something like 300HP from a 2.5 litre engine. I think Ford looked into a 4 wheel drive system but discounted it, I'm not sure why.

  • @Nothefaceyoubitch the rs 500 has got 350 hp the rs has 305 hp

  • @ebebimik More kick than I thought. I want one even more.

  • Ha ha, finally have a car that has a chance to compete and can be compared with European cars. Should take sales away from the competition if the pricing remains competitive.

  • '

    no no no thank,,,

i dont like this focus car

  • They only offer a 5 speed stick, why not a 6 speed? They got the auto as a 6 speed. Dont make any sense.

  • I will still keep my 2 door 2009 Focus. They can keep their 4 and 5 door car for the masses. Maybe if they make a 2 door with a stick i'll get one.

  • @tuugfo Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Yours however is downright derogatory and useless.

  • awesome intro to the car.

  • What is the name of this red colour? nice new design!

  • Not gonna lie i drive a M3 HB and the old focus never came close but this ones real nice kudos ford

  • the previous gen euro focus still looks better. :(

  • I think this thing looks epic. If you're a fan of hatchbacks, this might he holy grail in styling. So many hatches look frumpy or boxy... not this. The Golf looks square and homely in comparison. Epic.

  • thanks for the comments and enlighting me on your knowledge on facts i was unaware of. but I still would not ever buy a foreign car. our dommestic manufacturers accomodates our needs 100%. there should be NO reason not to buy american. Period.

  • UGLY, looks more like a KIA Ce'ed. What is happening in the car world ? Are they all using the same design software or what ??

  • @zeproo yeah... microsoft paint...:))

  • As long as they offer the 5-speed on the top of the line model. I will consider it.

  • Ford finally learned to make cars that doesn't suck

  • The front of this car is odd and ugly

  • my god absolutely no personality on style, it just try to recap what is done among others, go learn from italian or german style, ford (europe) use to have a strong recognisable design specially with the focus, in this one the rear lights for example are just too complicated and ugly, in the good old days of car design one single line was sufficient to give style to a car, they should meditate on that

  • @carig121 The Golf looks too simple. It looks like a worn bar of soap to me. Also, the red on this focus makes it look cheap and overdone at the same time. Check out a white one on Ford's page. I think the white one looks fantastic - but yes, it's more busy than the Ikea-like approach of the Teutonic hegemony.

  • Dear Ford, now THIS would make me part with my beloved MK1. Want one so bad.

  • Ford = Mazda

  • @mehiael

Ford owned shares of mazda not the other way around. Mazda=Ford. Take your Ford hating comments elsewhere. Your probably a little Government Motors troll who's upset Ford is actually making a decent product.

  • @turbochargit So give mazda credit. It's not all american these days.

  • That's nice......where are the 2012 Fusion Hybrids?

  • Can someone from Ford please tell me why you refuse to bring the diesel Focus to the US? Please bring them here there has to be a way..

  • I like it, will be standing in line for one...

  • Will it eat tires up like my 2007 Focus? I replaced 3 sets so far and I even rotate them every 4000 miles.

  • Looks like a Toyota -__-. Not very "Ford" like. Come on Ford!

  • Wow, I like the interior. I won't mind driving this.

  • 5 speed manual!

    no way

  • Were is the rally car version!!

  • This guy looks really uncomfortable while speaking. Not bad over all tho.

  • the previous model looked way sharper and crisp (I'm talking about the euro version) , it looked awesome...this new model looks a bit boring...it looks too much like a VW Golf Plus or Seat Altea and those are too big to be hatches they are almost vans ... so designwise - nothing new...but this is just my opinion

  • I note that the 'walk-around' deliberately avoids walking around the back to where those monumentally ugly new rear light clusters are.

Stylistically, the Focus has lost something of it's uniqueness over the years, particularly with this latest version. Disappointing.

  • this is a humiliation, the fiesta was good, the new rs amazing this is just a complete copy of the new megane, and alfa guillera with exception to the nose.

I dont like fords, but for an everyday type of normal car the drive better than renaults vauxhalls/opels citroen etc etc but this is disapointing because by the time this comes out theyre will be some nice new cars on the road by 2011 and this will look crap

  • @munichlegends crap is in the eye of the beholder...

  • "...we're gonna have features that are gonna surprise...": rain sensor wipers... WTF? My 30.000€ car has already that feature and it's 5 years old.

  • @NearTheLimits No shit numb nuts. But no small econobox has those options usually only bimmers.

  • @dre5491 I bought mine for 28.900€ and it brings: rain and sunlight sensor, rear parking sensor, interior mirror with dim sensor, 6 CD charger, dual climatronic, board computer, automatic foldable exterior mirorrs, doble clutch DSG (by now I guess you have a better clue of the brand) , bluetooth and 17" alloy rims. So, dickhead, what's the point ?

  • @NearTheLimits Cool asswhipe. That's not an Econobox that costs less than $30K AMERICAN dollars not Euros. And European cars are obviously much cheaper in Europe than they are. So, 28,900 pounds converts over to 45,000 us dollars, so still a complete different price range than this focus is. When this car comes out with the Ecoboost, it'll be the best bang for the buck here in america in styling, luxury, and performance.

  • @dre5491 Who's saying it's in sterlin pounds? it's EUROS. 28900€ x 1,21$/€ = 35.000 US$

  • @dre5491 BTW, 1. At your last statement you're mixing yourself ("...less than $30K US dollars not euros..." when obviusly the US$ is cheaper than the euro. 2. In any case, eurpean cars have much more better chassi and sport suspension than soft american cars. And that is unpayable. Just try to turn round corners with a Ford and then try with a, let's say, a VW or Audi.

  • @NearTheLimits $35k is still more than $30k lol. And Ford has been revamping the suspension on all of their vehicles. For example a lot of non Biased car magazines have been saying that the newer M3s are a waste of money. When you can buy a 2011 Mustang GT for a fraction of the cost and have a faster 0-60 and ALMOST the same handling. The M3 put down a couple thousands of a seconds quicker on an unnamed track. VW and Audi = Break down all the time and expensive maintenance.

  • @dre5491 The quality of the car depends on the place they were build (assembled) cuz if you build the VW or Audi in mexico for 99 cents you will get the quality you payed for.The parts that break down are not shipped from europe, they are made in the country were the car was made.Shipping them would be extremely stupid and pricy so they are made in mexico,in this case, for 99 cents, and you pay 3x the price, that's business. Why VWs and Audi don't break all the time in the rest of the world?Quality!

  • @dre5491 The Mustang has leaf springs on the rear wheels how can you compare it to a BMW who has sport independent suspension as standard? And the rest of the world doesn't care about the 0-60 time, the rest of the world cares more about handling in the curves...

  • @c00smeen leaf springs? are you some kind of stupid?

  • @tbi08 google it ...then comment...I didn't make it...america did...

  • @c00smeen LOL! The Mustang does not have leaf springs! I suggest doing a Google search before you start making comments like that. BTW, the Mustang out handled the M3 on a road course test. I'm sure the video is up somewhere....

  • @DentlessDave dude...I was trying to make a point with the leaf springs because in america the roads are straight and wide, you practically don't need suspension there...little-to-no-curves...in europe there are little-to-no-straight-roads so we build cars that go round the corner because we need to go round the corner...in america they build cars that go straight because they need them to...no need to go round the corner...now what's wrong with that?

  • @c00smeen errrrr. There are tons of cars here that can "go around corners". I drove an American car in Japan for 5 years, it worked great and they have a shit ton of "corners".

  • @Warpath2198 well...all cars go round the corner, but some of the cars keep you alive going through one with more than 10 mph...now that's called ''a good handling car''...

  • @c00smeen thats HALARIOUS!! reminds me of will farrel in the other guys!!

  • @jamesrichardson63 that was a very funny movie...:))

  • @c00smeen This is obviously spoken from someone who has never been to America. American Roads are not all straight. Our interstate system is, but we have tons and tons of rural roads that are very twisty with man sharp apexes and elevation changes. Do a search for Deals Gap, NC...Park Road 37 in San Antonio, Texas....Lime Creek in Austin Texas... Park roads 336, 335, and 337 in Texas. These are just to name a few of the more POPULAR roads where I have lived in previous years.

  • @DentlessDave If you have those roads build a car THERE not at the 73rd floor in an office with ''bingo'' car designers and ''bingo'' test drivers ...but I wouldn't hold my breath...

  • @NearTheLimits My question for you is why watch the video if all you're going to do is talk smack about American cars? Go beat off to some VW or Audi videos. Euro cars are more expensive here and parts for them are usually 3x the cost of the parts for American cars here in the US. You keep forgetting that the stuff for a vehicle to whom it originated is going to be much cheaper than one that it is imported into.

  • @dre5491 This is a free forum, just defending my point of view dude. But I give up trying to convince you that all you're saying is nonsense. Just one last statement: german cars are much more reliable, have lot more better handling, technology, efficiency and quality than american cars. And you pay for it.

  • If you want to do something about fuel economy, bring in turbo diesel cars. To this day I still don't know why the US have no diesel cars. We have a 2003 1.8 TDi Ford Focus that does 51 miles per gallon. By the way, i'm in Ireland.

  • @rtenewsonone We do not understand either. Either its because gas is still cheap compared to Europe (current price $2.65 a gallon or four liters). Or because many including myself hate the smell of diesel fuel. But for all I know you guys might have the smell issue taken care of. They seem to be pushing the electric car concept here. But that will not be for quite some time because of the size and infrastructure of the US. Volvo is the only company that offers the US a diesel car at this point.

  • @srabchun Do you not also get the TDI engines from VW? I am from Canada and we get them but I'm sure I've read that TDI is also in the States. I believe also the defunct Saab brand had some diesel engines in the past.

I've been thinking about the Fiesta but the Focus is a lot safer and frankly looks more manly than the Fiesta but that's not to say I have small penis complex but it's still nice to have a bigger car with some oomph.

  • corolla or civic are no match. now it's about beating the cruze, mazda 3 (for the upscale focus models) and more importantly the 2011 elantra with a direct injected 2 ltr. toyota and honda are out of the picture.

btw ford, when do we get the mondeo? we're tired of playing second to euro fun boys.

  • I own a 2003 focus and let me tell you that it has been the most reliable car I have owned, I will most likely upgrade it to the 2012 version. Even though it doesn't look as sick as a sports car, it is pretty nice.

  • Absolutely love the new 2012 mk3 Focus! The new, next-generation Focus is going to rock the global C-segment, especially here in the U.S. Go Ford and Go Focus! I will buy the 5 door hatchback with the PowerShift transmission. Most likely an SE trim.

  • Why not fix the ignition on the 2004 Focus models? It's defective.

    As usual, Ford sucks.

  • Fuckin Euro fags Ford is still an American car company and the Fords that are produced in Europe arent in America. Even though I have heard rumors that the Focus RS is coming to America in 2011.

And @R1doorbar wtf does cheerleading I mean soccer have to do with cars

  • Like the car, don't like the video

  • The only good Ford models are designed and built in Europe. That Jim huges is only a face for the US, because Americas don't like that Europe makes better cars and wouldn't buy a car if the German head of this project presented it. Wouuld I buy this car: Yes. Would I buy something like a Ford Ranger: Fuck no! Incidently, first team to go out in the world cup (that's football) cleans up the oil! (oh sorry, did you not get that memo, lol)

  • this car looks fucking shit compared with the UK Ford Focus...

  • NICE CAR!

  • I love this car. I hope it's available with a real sunroof. Sunroofs aren't available on the Mustang or Fiesta. And please make it available on the entry level cars.

  • From all hatches i like most the focus and the golf. If you want a proper car go for these. If you want a toy go for the others.

  • I heard this was a good car for new drivers... what else do you reccomend I'm almost of age...

  • @AlongTheHorizonLine Something from the 80s with a manual transmission, and no ABS or power steering. Oh, and that you have to fix little things on yourself all the time but generally runs ok.

Something like that will teach you to drive and take care of a car >_>

    lol.

Although modern cars /are/ much safer...

  • From my experience of owning a focus ST even now it takes months to rectify problems and repairs, all these "gadgets" thats a lot of stuff to go wrong!! buy jap cars or make sure you have massive extended warrenties, your gunna need it

  • @mr9246m I own a 01 Focus Wagon w/ the Zetec. How many KMs? 245 000 and counting. Any transmission problems? No. Engine? No. Electronics? No.

Maybe you got a lemon...I was very surprised with me buying such a reliable American used with high millage.

  • I dont like this joint Euro-US partnership. Euro focus all the way!

  • No Ford Focus RS in the U.S.? Bullshit!

  • @gremlin05 i know!! but i herd they will bring an ecoboosted 2.0 over here.. if they make an ecoboosted 5-speed focus, then one's mine, in a blue hatchback. :D

  • @gremlin05 be very grateful,

  • It looks good inside and out. I hope it sells well but reliability is still an issue, quality is also. I think Gm and Ford got the message and actually started to build better vehicles. I'm not a Ford guy but I would consider one over a GM. I used to like Chrysler but lately they just don't try hard enough. I got tired of it. I bought a Nissan and I'm very happy. I'll wait and see how these cars do before buying one. GOOD LUCK.

  • Great car, this next generation (Euro) Ford Focus... beat the UK-built Toyota Corolla for reliability according to a German reliability study...

...and it's coming to the USA. Hope Ford US doesn't change it much from its Euro-roots (as Ford US did with previous Euro "transplants") and hope the American consumers appreciate it!

  • Ford has the Tech to make a Probe like car reliable, fuel efficient , and the I'm dieing for a Z killer. Make it look like the Audi R8 and be as cheap as a well equipped Taurus and Ford will have it made. Demand would be thought the roof.

  • IF!!! Ford screws this car up like they did with the Fiesta i'll stay with my car that has 17K and rust. Isn't that sad? It Rhymes with senseLess and its name (is) . P.O.S.

I want the Focus to come in an RS just like the one in Europe. If i cant have that then I want a car more sporty then the Mustang to compete with the Hyundai genesis, Nissan Z and I want a Ford call it Probe perhaps? I mean we already have the Fiesta and 5.0 back. Why not the Mustang replacement. ROFL.

  • @72seeker72 Nobody should be guilted into buying a product they don't like. I have owned two Fords in the past, and I liked them a lot. I liked my current Hyundai even better so I bought one. When it comes time to buy another vehicle I will see who makes what I view to be the best on that year. If its not American again oh well lol. Its bad enough tax payers are propping up Govt. Motors.

  • @Warpath2198 "bad enough tax payers are propping up gm" and then u buy an import??? like your helping? i honesltly think they should regulate heavily the imports in order for the us to stablaize OUR economy. fuck u and your hyuindai

  • @jamesrichardson63 Fuck you unAmerican prick. Welcome to freedom and a free enterprise. If you make shit products you should go out of business. As for the trade deficit that's the govt's problem. Nobody should be propping up shitty cars that GM is producing. Have you even seen the new ugly shit cars GM has produced lately? You are probably one of those old lazy Union fucks that whine at work all day lol.

  • @Warpath2198 u comunist cunt... we should throw ur ass out of the USA and into the middle of china then. people like you are the MAJOR problem we have with our country now. no support at all and i bet u bitch and whine about what a shitty econmy we have now u prick. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ECONOMY cunt!

  • @jamesrichardson63 Actually no I don't. I have something called job skills and I don't spend all of my money on shit I can't afford. What bad economy? I have been getting pay raises every year. Looks like I wasn't far off the old Union fuck LOL. Communist? Uhh no that would be Union workers. Unions are a form of socialism. I am a veteran, conservative, and anti socialist. You sir are into socialism by your comments. I will SUPPORT a local economy if it makes a quality product.

  • @jamesrichardson63 As for GM it is shit. It has been bailed out more than once. It was bailed out in Europe under the name Opel and Buick in China as well in the U.S. How many fucking bail outs does one company need? Also the new Volt? What a fucking joke. For every Volt sold it costs the tax payer $7500 and GM makes $1000 profit on top of the $7500 from the govt. You should never sell a product that is propped up by tax payer money. Now who is the communist?

  • @Warpath2198 and GM makes shitty products? one of the biggest car manufacturer on the planet but they sell shitty cars? please tell me how they did that? what a marketing strategy!!!!!! fuck you

You seriously need an eye exam, because Japan makes the ugliest shit on the planet.

  • I love it, I love it. I want to make love to it. Although I would like a 6 speeds manual gearbox and buy it now NOW ¡NOW! not in 2012 ¡NOW!

The interior looks like a jet cockpit.

  • Hot Hot Hot!!

  • AWSOME I have always drove cavaliers. I think civics are better, but I like the idea of buying cars made near me(or the companies base) . I am Canadian. This is a cool car tho. Good bang for your buck I could like less extras for less cost, and would be willing to pay more for wishbone suspension (if it doesnt already have that?). Anyways, reeeaaallllly wanna see a 2 door!!! I love the volvo C30 influance. Would like to see less of a dumpling look and more "hunkered down" look for the 2 door

  • they stole the ibiza leon design, the did it for the last focust st and they do it on this one with the new ibiza leon

  • @aXlBroO0

    Rubbish!

If they sole the design ,why isn't then as ugly as the Ibiza Leon?

  • Not liking the blue and white lighting on the dash instead of red...what about night vision?

  • I didn't regret that i buyed an Opel Astra.I thought it was as beautiful as the Fiesta

  • Thank god that they are dumping the HORIBLE design of the current focus. I still think the 2007 focus is the best.

  • u think this new focus is going to cost a lil more than the one today?

  • I want the hatch back. I just turned 16 and got my G1 thinking of getting a 2000 - 2007 Ford Focus for my first car :)

  • i jus turned 16 also. do u kno if the ford focus st came out here in north america.

  • @ryu1036 ya but not the european version

  • I had a 2001 2.0L ztech, and i LOVED it. not the best interior quality, but the engine made up for it. i have a 06 matrix and the only thing i love about it is how much it can hold. if they can get the same power as the 2010 Focus RS (sold in uk) and the versatility of the matrix PLUS a better experience/qualitywhere do i buy one?

  • pjoiner0 i really don't think that changing the logo is even thought about... why not change bmw, mercedes, volvo, mazda etc brands on the same basis??

  • At least on the surface, this certainly measures up to or even surpasses my Toyota Matrix. I think I'm gong to consider a Ford for the first time ever. I sure wish Ford would change its outdated and unattractive blue logo, however.

  • @pjoiner0 I doubt that ford will ever get rid of the blue oval. It's had that logo forever and It isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

  • hope they realese a rs verison to replace my svtf

  • i love my 2010 focus & i will get this focus when it's out!!! :)

  • Love Ford, I own a 2006 Focus ZX5 and I love it to death.

  • Do your worst Jeff. I don't give a shit. I think you've been wrapped in cotton wool and are slightly touchy. Grow some balls.

  • is this the European Focus? i'm guessing it is. look at those bumpers. they don't look like U.S. bumpers. i parallel park, looks like these bumpers would get trashed very quickly. does Ford have tough bumpers? i don't even know.

  • @jeffdrown Maybe you should learn how to drive! I parallel park too, and my bumbers are scuff free. I look after my car! Damn USA throw away culture.

  • wow. that was rude. i know how to park. but often the others around me don't and my car gets scuffed. bumper laws aren't what they used to be. i'm just wondering if this is the U.S. version or the Europeon. don't reply unless you know. also, i'im going to see about having you banned from YouTube for being so rude.

  • We are either going to get this or the Fiesta.

  • This Focus Chief Engineer look slappy, old and unclear. The way he talk make he sound like uneducated.

  • To you perhaps. I was paying more attention to what he was saying and the car.

My father has never steal a car and neither have I. I have been studying criminology for the last 4 years so instead of stealing cars I would probably help people get them back.

  • I helped you. Thats Truth. I always try to help people like you to understand things that they could not.

You been "studying criminology for the last 4 years" you know if you just watch CSI on TV thats not actually studying.

I could also said I been helping the President for the last 4 years. Hows that You Moron !!
