@tobiasrules21 you sound like a 13 year old wining kid. please stop trying to argue a point that you are too young to have witnessed with your own eyes. At 13 the best thing you can do keep practicing to become one of the greatest musicians ever! Talk with your horn, not your mouth! This is knowledge passed down from the pros!
if anybody knows of an expansion version of this, let me know. Its hard to be at work and stop and replay the song every 4 and a half min. I just can't get enough of it.
Ok I am not a jazz player but I like this tune. So much so I play it as a interlude in church. Young folk get it old folk like it, musicians jam with it!
I love this tune (and this film). I've arranged this tune with one by Abdullah Ibrahim and will put it on my next album when I get the licence clearance!
WOW THIS IS GOLD,, TO MR, LEE WHAT IS UP WITH THE HATING OF MR.PERRY HEY HE IS JUST ANOTHER BLACK MAN LIKE YOU WHO STARTED WITH NOTHING AND BUILT A BILLON DOLLAR DREAN ME MYSELF I GOT THE SAME DREAM I AM A WRITER,,, AND GO TO SCHOOL I AM 41 A YEAR I TOUCH A WOMAN I THOUGHT WAS MINE SHARE A DREAM WITH THE BITCH SHE RAN OFF WITH 47,000 TO SOUTH CAROLINA TO SMOKE CRACK,,, KATHY SO STOP HATING,,,,, BIGGS
Everytime I hear this song, I create a image in my head. Now ladies and gentlemen, picture yourselves on a date with your boyfriend or girlfriend around spring or summertime. You're walking along the riverfront and you stop for a minute. Gazing at the night blue sky and the stars that's in it. You can also feel a smooth breeze blowing on you as you glance at the river and the beautiful scenery around it. The sounds of this song represents that image.
Why I wanted to be an Actor. Why I wanted to be a Filmmaker. Wesley Snipes best role besides Nino. My favorite Denzel movie of all time, Training Day in a strong second. Genius. When Bleek and Shadow hit that harmonious note right after "Mo & Josh wanna see you". That's why I wanted to be an Actor.
@Hoopermazing I said of the two women, I relate more, personality-wise to Indigo. I love that name. I named my son Bishop after the movie Juice LOL Rarely meet any Bishops or Indigos out there.
@porkisgood4u after reading Miles' autobiography, I think the movie is loosely based on Miles' life...although some of the things happened to other people in Miles' circle...It makes more sense now that you say he is posing and playing like Miles.
We need more movies like this. I love spike Lee joints because of the reality. I dont think some of the younger musicians respect the powerful voice of music. So what they learned how to play some now what type of influence will they have on musicians younger than them. This movie inspired me more than some of the talented musicians out here. Thanks to Spike for voicing & displaying life from a musicians perspective. I realize my music is not about me but the survival of live music. real music!
@mr10304 You got that right! I wanted to be Bleek Gilliam when I grew up too. He was the coolest cat out there in the early 90's next to 'Marcus Graham'. But a far more believable character. The way Marcus could just get any hot chick he wanted was a little cartoonish.
You know what? Now that I've listened to it again, I know I was wrong. Thanks to you and the others for pointing that out! I've removed my comment. Peace.
