  • Ram bars...rofl.

  • would this cpu cooler work on a lga115 motherboard?, with an intel 2700k processor?

  • @TheJimmyman888 Yep.

  • You forgot a RAM Clip

  • MOBO: ASUS P8Z68 V / Gen3 will post a short clip soon. Be waiting for it my good people.

  • Running 2x G Skill Ripjaw X and 2x Corsair Vengeance, running smooth so far. Yes, the Corsair Vengeance (not Low Profile version), barely past / fit.

  • what if i hide the cable near the heatpipes and it melts down the cable covering? i just ordered my whole set of SB rig with 7970 :))

  • Actually my main problem is that i dont know if it'll fit in a zalman z9 plus

  • Good news, Noctua NH - D14 installed with two Corsair Vengeance and two G Skill Ripjaw X Series, barely past. Wait for my clip my good people!!!

  • LOVE THIS MUSIC

  • Will the CPU cooler fit in my case? It's a full ATX tower, but there are two fans on the side that might interfere with it. (Sentey GS-6500)

  • Song ploz?

  • if something can be on socket 1156 it can be on socket 1155 right?

  • Would some g skill ripjaw ram fit? Its the type with half a centimeter "teeth" on them

  • @airsoftrulzpaintball I can't tell you definitely but it should work since you can also move up the fan a bit or mount it on the other side. Or in worst case just use another ram slot (if there are some free). Sometimes you can also dismount the ram cooler since the ram also gets the airflow of the Noctua fans. But please make sure that this is really recommended by Noctua or your ram manufacturer. You can also visit Noctua and see if your ram is supported.

  • @YummyBeatsClips thx m8 i went on noctua website and i know my 990xa ud3 mobo is supported and looks like ill have enough space in zalman z9 plus

  • @airsoftrulzpaintball you can check on their website, they have the compatibility list

  • @airsoftrulzpaintball I got red ripjaws with "teeth" and they fit perfectly with this cooler :)

  • why would you wear latex gloves?

  • @domeee11 you don't have to. But if you got some latex gloves, use them. It protects the cooler/CPU from fingerprints which would reduce the cooling performance.

  • I HATE techno/dance/club music...but i love this song for some reason.

  • very cool vid, the music also helped, keep it up.

  • hey can this fan be used on socket 1155? their website says so, but some sellers like amazon dont put it up..

  • @domeee11 yes, you can trust the official Noctua site. Amazon doesn't always get all latest updates.

  • @YummyBeatsClips hey thanks for the reply. do you think this will fit into the CM Storm Enforcer? ther site says it can fit until 170mm of cpu heatsink, and this noctua says 160mm tall. but with the bracket and holder in place im afraid it will go beyond 170mm maximum height.. any idea?

  • @YummyBeatsClips Please tell me this cooler will fit onto the ASUS P8Z68 V/Gen3 motherboard? Running LGA 1155. Please reply promptly, just placed an order on Amazon. Thanks in advance.

  • @ComVoiDua yes, socket 1155 is supported.

Please also read the other comments or refer to the Noctua homepage. Because some questions are asked several times. THX

  • @YummyBeatsClips Thanks, I did check on the site. It shows: Asus P8Z68 V ... not sure if Gen3 will be okay (no Gen3 at the end).

  • @ComVoiDua I looked at some pictures and I know what you mean. The blue coolers next to the CPU could be a problem indeed. Has the P8Z68 V the same coolers? Then it should be no problem if it's in noctua's compatibility list. Or if you are able to measure the heights of these blue coolers you could compare it with the NH-D14 blueprints on the Noctua website.

  • @YummyBeatsClips On Noctua's site, the P8Z68 V /Gen3 not listed under "Compatibility" list. From the pictures provided on ASUS's site. The V and the V / Gen3, looking about the same. I am crossing my fingers here in hoping that the NH-D14 will fit.

  • @YummyBeatsClips Hence, of course, I do not want to order / pay for something that will not fit. Same goes with everyone else.

  • @YummyBeatsClips I google the P8Z68 V and the .... V / Gen3, the pictures of the two boards are pretty identical, exception to it is that mine has the PCI-e 3.0 ready. Blue heat sink coolers looking identical.

  • @domeee11 1155 is the same as 1156

  • LOL thats not how you put thermal paste on

  • @GamingHabit actually it is :-) It's exactly what the manual tells and it's much more comfortable. The paste gets spread by the pressure. But yes, we also made a little mistake because we put a bit too much paste on the CPU. But everything's still fine

  • @GamingHabit You're an idiot.

  • @GamingHabit That's how I do it, works fine every time!

  • nice music :)

  • @haebel121 thank you all for your appreciation. Also big thanks to BosBeats who made this track together with us. We wish you all nice holidays!

  • Where do you plug in your PCcase?

  • @FunnyVideoCollector Do you mean your case fan? Usually you plug it into the CHA_FAN_1 or CHA_FAN_2,.... connector. But you should refer to your mainboard manual. I don't know if all manufacturers are using the same labels.

  • Sickest song ever. should be on spotify!!

  • The actual installation begins at 3:42 Thumbs this up, it will save people almost 4 minutes of their lives.

  • thanks for the great video was very helpfull

  • I have a question. I plan on getting this along with my i7 2600k but before i do that could you please answer the following: When installing the middle fan again what direction should the arrow of the fan point, the same as the other fan? And, what is the difference when installing a 2600k, just the bolt aligning? Thanks man!

  • @PcWizTechProductions same as the other fan, its the same with a 2600k

  • oh god this song is awesome!

  • @manbal100 Yes, the socket 1155 is in their compatibility list. However also check your case that it isn't too small.

  • It's nice but I will not buy that to install to my PC...too massive

  • at 3:56 ... What will happend if the screws are blocked off?

  • my computer case has a 120mm fan on the very top and one on the front for intake. Could I simply rotate the coler 90 degrees to make it suck air from the botttorm and push the hot one out the top?? PLEASE ANSWEER! thank you :)

  • @TwoPlusFourIsSe7en Yes, you could

  • Kept on watching this video months ago, only cause of the song...Now I was choosing a cooler for my 2600k, and then remembered this video and the song...Chose this cooler cause of this video, thanks alot! (Well, the perfomance of this cooler is top-class too so that mattered aswell:P)

  • "you should put on some latex gloves to protect your cooler from fingers prints and a LAYER OF FAT" ... what? i dont know what kind of hands you have but mine sure arent leaving layers of fat on anything i touch O.O

  • @gamerx9191 actually we really meant a small "layer of fat" between your heatsink and your CPU if you touch the downside of your heatsink. Because Fingerprints are nothing else than little fat spots. And also you got lots of fat on your fingers. I'm sorry that you had to learn it this way :-) Anyway Fingerpints or "a layer of fat" on the downside of your heatsink could dramatically decrease the cooling performance. With latex gloves you just minimize the risk.

  • @gamerx9191 I think he's referring to the oil in your skin (fingerprints) =P

  • Comment removed

  • Thanx for the big help m8! (Finished the installation with youre guide, step by step )

Nice video, good music, and ofc HD!!!

  • Never had "Airbubbles" surely you dont stomp the cooler on the cpu if you do it Right you have no Bubbles an much better temperatures. for an Overclocker 5degree is much.

  • Termalpaste only in the middle? seems you are very Skilled at this...you could lower your temps by apply the TermalPaste with a CreditCard about 3-5degree....

  • @nobertikus hehe, thx. But to be honest it's no big deal and only what the manual tells :-) The paste gets spread perfectly by the cooler's pressure when you fasten the screws.

  • @nobertikus There are lots of Pros and Cons for both methods of applying thermal paste. When you spread the thermal paste across the whole CPU using a credit card, people say that it will leave air bubbles which hinder its cooling performance.

  • @nobertikus Nope (Chuck Testa!). Both methods give the same results (well, drop in the middle is better if the paste is more liquid, and the spread method is better if the paste is firmer. But all in all the temps are very similar).

  • @nobertikus by spreading the thermal compound with a creditcard liike you say will cause airbubbles to form... So actually, its worse then the method used in this vid. Heck, everyone does it like this...

  • @nobertikus thermalpaste only in the middle is good choice, my temperatures after installation 29C.

  • @nobertikus You know your idea is wrong! if you spread the thermal paste you just spread it all over the cpu and may get to the mainboard!

  • Why did you remove the RAM? o_O?

  • @Drunkenvalley You should remove the ram because you have to turn around your MB to isntall the mounting bars. Yeah, probably nothing happens if you don't remove it. However there's a chance that you break your ram or even your MB by putting too much pressure on your MB. Or that your Ram or parts of your Ram get caught on the ground etc. Removing your ram only takes a few seconds. And I would say the little time you save by not removing it, really isn't worth the risk.

  • @YummyBeatsClips /facepalm

I mounted all the equipment -- short of the cooler itself -- without ever removing the motherboard, so I was just confused when looking at this. xD

  • @Drunkenvalley nice, how did you do that? I mean how did you install the black backplate and the long screws?

  • @YummyBeatsClips It's the level 10 GT case, so there's a large cutout to reach the backside without ever removing it.

So after removing the stock cooler I placed the screws in place in the backplate, then threaded the plate onto the mobo's old one. From the other side I then put on the spacings, then brackets. After securing them I moved the cabinet on its side so I could let gravity make the cooler sit in place while I put on some paste and screwed it on.

  • @Drunkenvalley ah k, I already thought of that. Having such a case would be very nice, actually. I guess you also can hide your cables completely with this case so that you also reach more cooling power?

  • @YummyBeatsClips Tbf there are probably better cases for a better price. It just so happens that the handle adds an incredible amount of mobility. :p

But yes, cables are looking damn fine in the case, and cooling's good as well.

  • By far the best computer component installation guide ive ever seen.

  • i get mine in a cupple of day ^_^ cant w8 :)

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I usually spread heat paste evenly across the top surface of the CPU to ensure an even distribution of the stuff.

  • @unnamednewbie13 and you also get to have air bubbles. YAY!

  • @WeirdoMikey2T Only if you spread it around with gorilla fingers.

  • great video thank you

  • thermal paste included?

  • @Dvizion08 Yes, it's included and also of a very good quality according to several tests

  • @YummyBeatsClips hey did you plug it into the cpu plug or the sys fan plug? I plugged into sys fan cuz it only had 3 prongs and it works but i just wanted to make sure since i just got this because my old heatsink wasn't quite doing the job

  • @jerkface37 it's now plugged into a speed controler in the front panel but the big fan used to be plugged into the cpu fan with the y cable. Also the big fan (or even both fans) were connected with the supplied resistors for extra silent mode (if I remember right it was about 300 to 500 RPM).

But if your are satisfied with your setup you can leave it like this, the max voltages on the fan connectors are all the same, as far as I know.

  • @YummyBeatsClips alright cool i've never used anything but stock heatsinks so i was just curious

  • shiiiiiiiiiiit that thing is huge... looked lot smaller on pics

  • Will there be a conflict with my G Skill ripjaws RAM?

  • @blizzaroxx nope, all ripjaws will work. The Noctua site actually has a list for it

  • Comment removed

  • Ouch!! that was alot of flex on the board when he was installing the ram

  • Comment removed

  • This cooler without its fans is better then the stock cooler.

  • thumps up if you mute the song

  • @MrJagdtrieb HOW MANY THUMBS DID YOU GET THEN???? MMWWAAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

  • Hmm, isnt it smarter to install the backplate, then mount the motherboard to your case and mount the cooler?

  • @frankwer the smartest way is always how you do it the best and fastest, I would say. This video is just referring to the manual. But I still wouldn't recommend your suggestion to everyone because - depending on your case - it can be difficult to reach all screws and connectors when installing the cooler. And since you need to remove your mainboard anyway (to install the mounting bars) you also wouldn't save any time. Installing the mainboard with the cooler was also easy.

  • can you put the motherboard with cooler vertically in your case to the side without the cooler breaking of the motherboard? Or does it have to lay flat?

  • @alexanderrrrrrrrr yes, sure. The i7 sockets are all very solid and durable. In general mainboards are very durable and can carry more weight than you think. So its no problem to hold the cooler with the supplied screws and mounting bars no matter in which position you turn your case then. However you shouldn't throw your case around or shake it heavily ;-)

  • @YummyBeatsClips hm great, thanks!

  • Is it possible to mount it the same way you had but with the fans on the opposite side. Cuz i have full height RAMs

  • Thank !!! The best install video)))))

  • Lga 1156 has the same mounting holes as lga 1155

  • Is it the same on the 1155 socket?

  • what song is this on your site?

  • @ChargersRock13 It's the BTrack in our free-stuff area

  • damn dude this music got me high !

  • I know this will fit in a Haf 922, but I wonder if it would fit in a Haf 912?

  • @MrBaracas I got 1 HAF 932 so i should be totally fine right? XD!

  • So easy to understand. Thank you very much for the awesome video

  • i like the music... the music is FUCKING awesome!!!!

i like the video.. the video is FUCKING awesome!!!

    ;)

  • awesome beat

  • I saw the very end if I have tall RAM (the one with heatspreader wont work)

If I take out that fan and move it to the front, will it work out for me? =)

  • I use rubber gloves as latex is mildly conductive but glad to see someone else uses gloves.

  • The best installation of this cooler thnx man!! :)

  • I stay rocking to this. Beat

  • Gotta question, ive seen people mount it the other way round so the fan is facing the rear exhaust, which is better? and why do people preffer the fan facing the rear exhaust and not the ram. You have done it so that its facing the ram im confused :[

  • @ASSYRIAQS The best way is to use the cooler to transport the heat out of your case. In our case the airflow direction is from front to back because our back case fan (which transports the air out of the case) is right behind the cooler. So the warm cpu & ram air gets sucked out of the case directly.

However if you got fans on the top of your case (transporting the air out) you can also use the cooler from bottom to top to transport the grafics card heat out of your case.

  • Wow. Your video is awesome. Helped me so much. And great music. But quick question, can I install LED fans instead of the stock ones? They don't match the color scheme of the case I'm building.

  • @DeviousPhoenix1 Thx.I would think so. Just make sure you use fans of the same sizes (12mm and 14 mm ) and that the holes are on the right place (for the steel clips). But I think all fans are standardized, anyway. Also make sure that your fans run at the same rpm. In case you want to run them in silent mode make sure that they are also start running on very low voltage and also monitor your temperature in the first weeks. Also contact noctua[dot]com maybe they can name you verified fans.

  • @YummyBeatsClips can i use any alternatives for isopropyl alchohol??

can i use nail polish remover??

  • @2006KANISHKJAISWAL I'm not a chemist but I wouldn't recommend that. Because I made bad experience with nail polish remover and plastics. This stuff is very aggressive. Rather take spirit - however got no experience. Maybe there are some remains affecting the cooling power?! Or take vodka - only experience with drinking it :-D

However isopropyl (or 2-propanol) isn't that expensive and also useful for other cleaning stuff.

  • @YummyBeatsClips lol at the vodka experience, but the problem is i cant find propan-2-ol in any local stores, but ill try at my school lab.. And thanx for the knowledge my friend, very kind of you. and your video is awesome too(including the music, great bass)

  • @YummyBeatsClips, Thanks for the info. I'll do just that. Haven't built a PC in years and it's the first time I'm using a heart sink. Was going to use the Corsair H70, but it can't fit in the NZXT Phantom with 2 200mm fans at the top. But thanks a bunch for the reply.

  • @DeviousPhoenix1 sorry, its noctua[dot]at

  • @DeviousPhoenix1 No LED fan is going to perform like a Noctua fan (yes the difference really is substantial). It's not worth it. Just add LED's to the Noctua if you really have to haver them, otherwise don't bother. Performance matters a lot more than aesthetics, especially with a PC.

  • @xilix True. Thanks for the info. I can't fit this in my case so I will pick up Noctua fans instead for the case though. Again, thanks for the info.

  • hye bro...u think this cooler can fit with ram patriot sector 5? hmmm

  • I LOVE THE SONG! I downloaded it for some months ago! :D

  • I keep replaying this video to listen to the song :P

    Nice vid

  • @USAFRaptorf22 thx, you can also download a newer (slightly different) remix of the song at yummybeats[dot]com But pls still keep on replaying this vid :-D

  • im considering buying one of these, are they any good on an overclocked i7 860?

  • @spencedanny1 it's a great cooler, however it depends on how much you wanna overclock your cpu, I guess. However we used this cooler to silence our pc not to overclock it. But the temperatures are about 55 °C (131 F) at full CPU load and at idle around 35 °C (90 F). Whereby our cooler runs at lowest fan speed, in a soundproofed tower, and with a slightly misuse of the thermal compound as a user told us. For detailed info I suggest you to look for some benchmarks.

  • on p67 boards will this block how many ram slots?

  • do you lose any rpms/power of cooling by puting those two 3 pin fans into 1 ?

  • @maxaxelpro yes, like every electric consumer a fan also has a resistance. So two fans on one connector run slower. However I can't tell you how much. But they are still running and the slower speed can be perfect if you prefer silence.

  • Comment removed

  • this cooler perfromed on par with my h50 with noctua fans...

  • Why are you wearing gloves?

  • @bengoerk

    They're anti static

  • i really like that beat. the score of the synth kicks ass. this was very helpful by the way. i will be mounting this thing soon as it arrives

  • im really not looking forward to breaking my computer down so i can remove the mobo and install this cooler :(

  • HA HA! I found the song, it's actually free for download in their website (yummybeats) it's under the free-stuff => free dl's tab

SONG: "BTrack" (from Quiet Your PC pt I)

  • зачем было ОЗУ снимать?))

  • TOO MUCH PASTE!!!

  • @1991Luk maybe you can also use less paste? I don't know. However this wasn't too much I would say. It was perfectly spread when it has been uninstalled once. Well, there was also some paste on the side of the CPU but I don't know if you can ever get the perfect point? And I would say it's still better to use too much paste then too less :-)

  • @YummyBeatsClips too less? :|..."As thin as possible for best performance" - > ...I heard it somewhere and i believe him.

  • @1991Luk It may well be that your source is right. However we trusted the manual and it says "Then press a small drop (4-5mm diameter)". Well, maybe our drop was 7mm big, sorry for that ;-) Anyway maybe you can give us the exact amount of paste? That would really be helpful, I guess. Because "as thin as possible" is a bit relatively.

  • @YummyBeatsClips :))....well .... a small drop with 4mm in diameter would be perfect i think...i don't want you to think that i am saying that you are wrong,it's true, the noctua manual does say 4-5mm and you used a 7mm in diameter drop so i think it is a little bit to much....And P.S: i don't think that is 7mm....

  • @YummyBeatsClips

Most people say you should use the "grain of salt method".

Naturally meaning the paste drop should be no bigger than a average grain of salt.

  • @TheIrredeemable

nah, i prefer a grain of rice on the CPU ^^

A grain of slat sounds too little.

  • @uzor123

Haha, thats actually what I meant to say.....I felt like a fool after I read it.

  • Lol latex gloves, i literally licked my Thors Hammer when I recieved it...

  • @Zillamp3z haha. Everyone has his own preferences :-D

No, seriously. The gloves where still there from another project and if I remember right the manual said somewhere to use gloves to prevent fingerprints...so why not :-P

  • @YummyBeatsClips ...i like the gloves...well done for using it because you are supposed too anyways. good vid

  • That is a... Big cooling system. Wow.

I've heard many good things about this product (MANY), but i have one question; is this a safe option for a Desktop that is not sitting on its side? I fear the weight and size of it might warp the motherboard because it's so top heavy.

  • @Thezeronumber Yes, it's save. You can even shake your whole case and nothing happens. So all supported sockets can carry this cooler. The 1156 and the 1366 sockets at least can even carry much more weight I would say (I don't have any experience with AMD sockets, probably they also do)

  • @Thezeronumber Perfectly safe :D

  • this is gona be a lot of work, i have to dismount my mugen 2 -_-

  • Forgot to mention that was a cool video of the rc cars drifting; dont think we have any thing like that where I live as far as race competion. About 20yrs ago we had a race track but it was oval for RC cars. I have old dune buggy rc car built 15yrs ago and have raced it maybe a handful of times. Guess the RC drift are battery controlled. My father wants some insane rc boat. I wouldnt mind getting a drift style rc car someday. How much is it for a decent one? Thanks for help on mobo/ram issue.

  • NIce video ! Can you make a video of installation for the Mugen 2 too?

  • This is seriously one of the best songs I've ever heard :O Awsome video too! thumbs up!

  • just be thankful you didn't use the gskill ripjaws. you wouldn't have been able to install that HDT because the teeth on the ram heatsinks would have stopped the install dead in it's tracks.

  • @gaptoofgranny I notice you mention the G.Skill Ripjaws wont fit in case but on Notcua website they have them listed as compatible w/ the NH-D14? Are you certain they will not work together or know for fact from experience? Please respond I would love to know this.

  • @Lonegraywolf75 Based on the dimensions I was able to obtain, the clearance between the bottom fin and the pcb of the mobo itself is 53mm. minus the height of the ddr socket (which is roughly 6mm) gives you a working space of 47mm. add in the height of the gskill's teeth of 40mm and you are working with at most 7mm of space between the two elements. It would be very difficult at best to install this hdt with this type of RAM installed.

  • @gaptoofgranny I researched found RAM compatibility list on website. This is somewhat generalized stating "Ripjaws' memory is compatible w/ NH-D14 since recommended model is named Ripjaws X. Its risky in and of itself to attempt to fit ram with heatsinks w/ Noctua but I guess you see that I want this fan badly. I do know the fan can be adjusted for height so if I'm only using slot 2 & 4 im good! :)

  • Latex gloves? are you kidding me?lol. I'll buy this cooler on my next upgrade, just trying to raise another 150 euro so that i can buy the upgrade >.>

  • and i just bought this cooler its unbelievable, 4ghz over clock on my i7 920 with prime95 torture stress reaching a max temp of just 71C, under games its about 55C and idle just 32-38C depending on which core, the amount of heat an i7 generates is unbelievable and this dissipates it so well, this thing is better than the h50 and h70. a great alternative to water cooling.

  • music is so fucking awesome

  • Dude thats one sick looking mother board, Blue + Black = always win

  • Dude, thats one Sick looking motherboard

  • thanks, very good tutorial!
