I love it!!! AT&T sure made themselves out to be seriously unethical, unreliable, and one hell of an autistic jackass... Now lets bust them bitch back up...
@96alancazares Okay, so Sprint is a valid option. But seriously, there's a reason no one is on those smaller networks, that reason is you have extremely crappy coverage.
@NOSEnetwork Sprint will make up such a small amount of the market that it doesn't matter. That's why Sprint was left out. It would only make up less than 20%. That's pretty small.
The point is AT&T admitted in a memo from their lawyer that they could have built out roughly the same amount of spectrum they are getting in this merger for about $3 million a few years ago. They decided it wasn't cost effective because they were already making plenty of money with the service they offered. Now they're willing to pay ten times that much for the same amount of spectrum? No, they're doing this to cut down on competition. AT&T could have built out to rural areas and didn't.
Swear they always say increase prices why the fuck do they forget about sprint verizon cricket and etc if they raise the prices they will lose customers .... Retards
@TMoFanatic Its also a fact that a good portion of the Sprint customers would not qualify (credit) to be a customer of another carrier, and this is why they are a Sprint customer to begin with... Its known on the street if you can't get service at one of the majors goto Sprint... At least you will have a phone. There is a place for this don't get me wrong... but its not a direct competitor.
No kidding. I did not even think of that... With AT&T you can not download from Amazing Android store... WHAT A JOKE... no free app of the day there... No competition there.
Its just bad... They are right it will be good for business if they do the deal.. It will be GREAT business for Verizon. I know my 324.00 per month family plan will become a 360.00 family plan at Verizon before I gave a penny to AT&T. And I believe that I am not even close to being alone on that.
@TMoFanatic Are you kidding me.. about a month ago I switched to Sprint.. They were going to save me 100 per month on our family plan and I don't want AT&T... I jumped back the next day.. it SUCKED big time, dropped half my calls had nearly NO 4g coverage and 3g was spotty as all hell.... Sprint??? Are you joking me??? And I am NOT rural AT ALL...... Sprint??? really? Just say no to walkie talkie service (Nextel).
@TMoFanatic Anyone traveling to other countries needs a GSM phone. AT&T will have a monopoly and will raise prices because there will be nothing competing with them to stop it. How could you possibly be in favor of merging with a company that "already has the second-highest prices"?
@TMoFanatic How can they compete if they don't have GSM service? You make absolutely no sense. Of course AT&T will raise rates; they won't have any competition. Are you being paid to post these comments?
@eyescreamcake Its not just the rates.. I mean money is important but its like 40.00 more for the family I have. I don't want to pay it but sure T-Mobile, match the AT&T rates and stay as you are. I would be MUCH happier. I have great service and unimaginable customer care..... I don't have a home phone, I am T-MO all the way and I never worry if it is going to work. I watch movies, almost all my news, Youtube, etc on my T-Mo phone and TAB. It works flawlessly.
Apparently monopolies are no longer illegal, or at the very least they aren't if you throw enough money at it. Or just hire one of the people in charge of enforcing that policy.. *sigh*
It's even better when you realize the companies getting back together now are many of the same splinters that where already broken apart once, in the 80's, when anyone in the government still cared at all. =/
Right now in our world the way it is this seems unimportant to me.Make a video to end the war and save lives.Id pay for that.Im not rich a have net ten phone with 3000 minutes.I dont need all the apps if i can call and they can call me in an emergency im ok with that. You should have a landline basic non cordless phone so if the power goes out your ok.
For customers living in the country, this will guaranty better coverage. So if I may a little more and have better service, I don't mind. I am for the merger!
So I went to the T-Mobile Website to see how much I would pay if I where a subscriber and DAMN!!! There prices are CHEAP!! I never knew how cheap they where.. maybe the merge isn't such a good idea anymore... :-/
AT&T will elimibate jobs as well if this merger goes thru. I use to be AT&T customer but left after they informed me that after 5 years I was no longer in their coverage area, but yet they wanted to sell me an upgraded plan. Upgraded plan for what? If I am not in your coverage area, besides the BS, what are you selling me? Way bad idea if this merger passes. I jumped to SPrint and pay only 1/2 of what I was paying AT&T and much better Customer Svc. so far. Just saying...
I dumped AT&T and will never look back. I am on Boost(Sprint's old network) and am much more satisfied with the service. Every 6 months, they take off $5. I pay $40 currently and it caps at $35 for unlimited everything. Granted, the phone options aren't as robust, but they also offer Blackberry and a lite version of an Android phone.AT&T has always been ball cancer on the sack of innovation. Those of us who lived and paid through their previous decades of monopolistic power can't be conned.
They forgot Sprint, the best one out there(: btww. They need to make one with all the major companies ( Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-mobile ) and do like competition. Thumbs up .
obviously what we need to do is cut all of their taxes and give them more money. They will create jobs with all of this new money that we give them. Then the money will trickle down to the middle class people.
FUCK THAT. if tmobile / at&t makes so much as a single noise about changing my service or raising my fees, i will CANCEL ALL MY SERVICE WITH THEM and simply use my phone wi-fi connection to text over google voice.
Yeah sure they can "raise" our prices but they can also give us better coverage, less dropped calls, more bandwidth, and AT&T will use T-Mobiles' AWS Spectrum to launch it's 4G LTE Network.
P.S. Saying that they will raise our prices is kinda dumb because If only AT&T raises their prices and lets say, Verizon stays the same the people would just go to Verizon. Plus Sprint still has 30 % of the market. I would still call Sprint a big player here.
@LazyFrogg I have never had any problems with coverage, dropped calls, or bandwidth, so all your purported benefits are bunk. This will only hurt T-Mobile customers. AT&T will definitely raise their prices. Why wouldn't they? They have no competition.
Capitalism. It's just like communism except that you don't get food, housing or a job. You still have to deal with monopolies that are run by party apparatchniks; it's just the Republican party.
Some people are just simple pinko-commies and understand this is bad.
Only one provider (if you don't live in the VERY FEW cities with 4g VZW, & SPRINT) that offers simultaneous voice and data over non-WiFi would have 0 competition. Consumers would have 0 choices if they need voice and data at the same time when out and about...
The thing I've learned from watching all these commercials is that I have a feeling it's not going to be as bad as these videos make it seem. When the merger happens, we'll all remember these commercials and sigh in relief and say to ourselves. Oh! It was just a merjer and these commercials were made to scare the shit out of us and it turned out to be just that. A merjer. We still have Sprints Truly Unlimited Everything plan for $89 a month.
We all know that the executives of both companies will profit from this, as the employees of both companies (especially T-Mobile) will lose their jobs. I am now certian that the FCC commissioners and chairman are corrupt and were probably paid (lobbyist style) kickbacks and bribes. There needs to be a DOJ investigation into the so-called government regulatory agencies which have allowed an unprecedented menagerie of monopolistic mergers (say that three times fast) in recent years.
i'm so shocked, really. not at all like i've been anticipating for the last 5 years without absolutely a thing to do about it, nope. im totally shocked
@TMoFanatic It doesn't have to have 100% of the market to be a monopoly. It just has to have enough of the market that they don't feel any pressure due to competition to keep prices reasonable or provide good customer service.
@jrtman Damn right we do.... And its not just a few of us.... People that have had AT&T directly then forced into it (ie: Cingular purchase).... We care more than you can imagine. My T-Mobile service is amazing... just today tested a download with a friend that has AT&T 4G; 2.1 mb download speed. Me, same test software, Samsung Galaxy phone just like him... sitting next to each other, same test site (server), same TIME testing... ME..... Are you ready 10.3MB peak. 8.4 MB sustained.
@jrtman your getting fed bullshit.. more customers lower prices because there server doesn't even cost half of what you pay each month.. but then again how to I explain this to 88,000 retards I mean you're american you hear false shit all the timeand 5 - 20 dollars? That's really gonna change your fucking life "false shit" all together
@xxdeathx More customers does not equal lower prices. Just compare the prices of T-Mobile vs. Verizon and AT&T to see that in action. Basic supply and demand principles dictate that when there is less choice for the same demand, prices go up.
@TMoFanatic Also, no one, unless there paid to spread propaganda, would bother to mention "regional carriers" in their post. Who's going to buy a plan that will only work in their home town / state? Regional carriers are NOT competition and everyone knows it.
@TMoFanatic LOL at your name. Is T-Mobile paying you to post this? For someone who needs there phone to work in more than just the USA, Sprint and Verizon are not even considerations. Outside of the USA you need a GSM phone. If you don't think they'll advertise this fact as a feature and charge extra for it your a fool.
hear is the skinny of it....the less you pay, the less carriers have to put into towers and tech.....so your lower bill can make for crappier service....but w/ this merger...it prob will be a win win....2 peeps coming together..more towers and tech customer service reps, more towers...easier to manage your signal..so less cost for carrier..so less cost for u! so.....less....which makes this ad moot.
@seanthegeek I have no stance on it...i just listen to what i'm told...then go find out the truth...after the senate meeting w/ sprint/att/tmo ceo's and other agencies, i checked out some stuff, alot of it wasn't verifiable..just claims, and alot of ppl didn't listen, kept saying that tmo has the most spectrum. / but thats not the case when it comes to LTE which was the main thing..but nobody listened...
We pay more, get crappy service.. THEN. our money trickles out of our pocket DOWN our leg... and into the hands of the bottom feeding execs that run AT&T
@soknee08: I'm not even on Verizon, but to say they have horrible coverage?? That's just ludicrous. They have the nation's largest and most generally reliable network in the US as is commonly reported by independent tests.
well I dont like T mobile, and att is expensive and Verizon has horrible coverage what to do??? wait I have Boost Mobile so why am I bothering with this worry? lol
@soknee08 First of all I am not a fan of Verizon. They are a bit snoby... The prices are high and you can not talk and use internet at the same time. All that said their service NET and VOICE are great. They are no better than T-Mobile and I can do both at the same time, and I do all the time.... AND the prices are better and customer serivce is awesome... To your point that Verizon has no coverage??? What planet are you on? They probably have the MOST of any carrier??

That's why nothing has changed between them.
