@1236sason It's a comedy sketch so it's kind of meant to be a joke... and they're not real games, but having owned an Atari 2600 I can tell you they are alarmingly close to the truth of what games on that console were like. Especially the 'Catch Him!' one, the other two are stupid enough to be funny but I'm sure I can remember a few Atari games with less depth than that one. And they nearly all had much worse graphics than the 'Jumping' one.

I think what this video represents is the 1983 console gaming industry crash, which was due to Atari's complete lack of quality control, rushed bug-ridden arcade ports (Pac-Man), and crappy licensed games (E.T.).

Console games were then revived by the NES, which had Super Mario Bros. (still good even today) and the "Nintendo Seal of Quality" (ensuring quality control), and the rest is history...

However, the real "golden age of games" was not in the home, but it was in the arcades from the late 70s to 80s, when games like Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Frogger and Donkey Kong became mainstream, and arcade games became the most dominant entertainment industry, surpassing revenues of both Hollywood and pop music combined. A lot of arcade games from that era have aged very well, in contrast to the console market which was flooded with loads of bad games until the NES came along.

I started playing Link to the Past recently and my god it is STILL awesome. Sprite games from the SNES retain their age very well IMO
