this is a game that changed me, for better or for worse, no other game has had even close to the same level of impact that this has had on me. The music is ingrained in my memory, and it brings back such fantastic feelings, I only regret that the game wasn't longer..... oh well.

How can anyone even begin explaining just how amazing this game is? Sure it was made in like the 90s but it has revolutionized, not just RPGs, but video games in general. One can sorta think Final Fantasy 7 as the Beatles. Both revolutionized things. This game has touched my heart and will always be in my heart. You get a feeling that you can't get from any other video game. This is one of those games where you sit back on your couch and think to yourself 'I wanna play FF7' FF7=amazing.
This truly is a great game. Sure the graphics are crap, except in cut-scenes, but it is one to remember by all. Though, many will be mad at this, I much prefer the prequel/sequel Crisis Core.

I remember logging around 200 hours into this game before I actually beat it. I was too busy exploring everywhere possible and making sure my characters were as high leveled as they can go. This is one game that will stick with me forever. I just wish they could make a FF game that's half as good as this nowadays.

This game struck us all emotionally and socially. No matter where we go, this music will be etched in our minds forever. This legendary adventure was not just about the world, but of a love triangle. I was 6 when I saw my brother playing this, its been 11 years since then, and not a month goes by that I don't think about this game. They need to remaster it. Only graphics, no voice/ recomposing the music. It would be a pleasure.

the dark sephiroth theme used every time he was near or shown in a flashback.. the heavy, industrial theme used in mako reactors, and so on
nowadays i dont even pay attention to the music in games. it feels like the songs are just put in, without thinking about how it fits with the scene

They say it will take a long time to make especially cause of the world map view, imagine all that upgraded to ps3 graphics and scaled properly. When I first played this game it was a demo on my 1st gaming console; PS1. I bought FF7 off my own allowance from kmart. My parents divorced while I played it. Never knew but my sis would watch me play and saw me at peace. When I found these vids and played them as adults... wow. Now I know what she was talking about. Best game ever. I really love this game.. and the graphics were way better on this game. 100% under rated.. i started playing this last week and still cant put it down.

@Gello81 I totally agree. There's just something about FF7 that makes it so special, it's difficult to put your finger on. It's the attention to detail in the enviroments, the characters, the spirit of the thing -everything.
If they tried to 'make' it again, it just couldn't be the same. In fact, that's why a lot of the FF7 soundtrack feels so melancholy, in my opinion - because we can't ever really go back to how we were when we first played it. Really bittersweet.
@HolidayPirate i play sports games, all sports games, only sports games...except, I also play Final Fantasy VII...and only VII...none of the others have ever done for me what VII does, it literealy makes me feel I am in the game.
This game will only die when the world ends. Will it end tomorrow? In five minutes? 2012? I have no idea, nor do I care to know. Point is, this game still is my favorite Final Fantasy (and by extention, my favorite video game) and even should I play a game I enjoy more, this game will forever have a place in my heart (alongside Sonic 2, Modern Warfare 2, and the other greatest RPG ever made, Chrono Trigger).
You know I have not been into a game in over 5 years. I actually stopped watching tv a year ago. But a remake of this game will bring me back.
However maybe it needs to stay what it is. A legend. As much as we want to feel what we felt as kids playing this game it won't be the same. And nothing they do will ever be enough.

It really really really makes me happy to read all these comments and know that there are so many people that love this game just as much as me. This was so much more than a game... I put countless hours, hundreds even into this game and I wouldnt take ANY of them back. nothing like it, and I highly doubt it will EVER be topped. Amazing
this game had it all, horror, love, mystery, it was scary, yet the landscapes and the people in the game were beautiful. fighting for a revolution against tyrants. to top it all off with the great story the music was on a beethoven level.
This was back when you just cared about you, your friends, & just being a kid. These were definitely good times & those good times will definitely be missed....
It's too bad they play this song, like, once in the whole game. But that ONE moment is inmortalized through this song. I the end, that's all that matters.
@Skygerobrian There's gotta be an idea in somebodie's head at this point in time that is just as great as Final Fantasy 7. This world needs a game like that. One with a real long and good story. You don't see that anymore. Now game producers try to wow us with only graphics and effects rather than the beauty of a well made story.

When I first played this game it was a demo on my 1st gaming console; PS1. I bought FF7 off my own allowance from kmart. My parents divorced while I played it. Never knew but my sis would watch me play and saw me at peace. When I found these vids and played them as adults... wow. Now I know what she was talking about. Best game ever. But still, I want the same exact game with the same exact soundtrack on PS3/4 graphics. Just don't F with the game SquareEnix!

yea man, these tracks bring back great memories. when i donated my ps-one and all the games way back when i kept 3 things. FF-7/FF-8/ and a memory card. my favorite games of all time

if they remade it, there is only one thing i would change... putting this game on a single disk!! lol.. I have read so many comments on here and i will agree with almost everyone... this game is perfect as is but a little extra would be nice.. sadly whenever a company tries to remake something they always screw it up. so yea as is !! :D ps this is my favorite of the ff series, next up is ff9!! that game was good too.

@demonicxxx I agree, FF9 is awesome :D Everyone seems to love FF7 (although it was fantastic!!!) But FF9 is completely underrated :O

@Brianette yea FF7 was the best at first cause lets face it.. For it's time it blew everything away. Then FF9 came out and mixed it up in the best of ways. New mini Games .. Aka terra cards. Fun but tricky, lol at least for me it is. the sub boss's and some fun at Treno auctions. WOW!! i can go on and on !! I really love this game.. and the graphics were way better on this game. 100% under rated.. i started playing this last week and still cant put it down.

@Brianette Oh...for some reason I find the bosses in FF9 a little more difficult than FF7 or maybe thats just my bad memory of FF7.... o_o

@Gello81 I totally agree. There's just something about FF7 that makes it so special, it's difficult to put your finger on. It's the attention to detail in the enviroments, the characters, the spirit of the thing -everything.
If they tried to 'make' it again, it just couldn't be the same. In fact, that's why a lot of the FF7 soundtrack feels so melancholy, in my opinion - because we can't ever really go back to how we were when we first played it. Really bittersweet.

@HolidayPirate i play sports games, all sports games, only sports games...except, I also play Final Fantasy VII...and only VII...none of the others have ever done for me what VII does, it literealy makes me feel I am in the game.

This game will only die when the world ends. Will it end tomorrow? In five minutes? 2012? I have no idea, nor do I care to know. Point is, this game still is my favorite Final Fantasy (and by extention, my favorite video game) and even should I play a game I enjoy more, this game will forever have a place in my heart (alongside Sonic 2, Modern Warfare 2, and the other greatest RPG ever made, Chrono Trigger).

You know I have not been into a game in over 5 years. I actually stopped watching tv a year ago. But a remake of this game will bring me back.
However maybe it needs to stay what it is. A legend. As much as we want to feel what we felt as kids playing this game it won't be the same. And nothing they do will ever be enough.
It was more than a game. It was a great story. It was great music. It was just magic.
But lets let it be. We don't want to repaint the mona lisa.

listening to the songs again and what not made me really want them to remake this game with sick graphics and maybe a few new add-ons or sidestories but keep to the true FF7. But your post convinced me this game is better left where it's at in its legendary status..

It really really really makes me happy to read all these comments and know that there are so many people that love this game just as much as me. This was so much more than a game... I put countless hours, hundreds even into this game and I wouldnt take ANY of them back. nothing like it, and I highly doubt it will EVER be topped. Amazing

this game had it all, horror, love, mystery, it was scary, yet the landscapes and the people in the game were beautiful. fighting for a revolution against tyrants. to top it all off with the great story the music was on a beethoven level.

@Skygerobrian There's gotta be an idea in somebodie's head at this point in time that is just as great as Final Fantasy 7. This world needs a game like that. One with a real long and good story. You don't see that anymore. Now game producers try to wow us with only graphics and effects rather than the beauty of a well made story.

Damn man...I'm sorry...I can't relate to your mom and dad being separated, but I can imagine how this theme song could really bring back memories. Especially if you watched your mom play this game...man. I used to watch my dad play video games all the time, now he barely does...It sucks, but wow...times were so easier back then...It would be nice to go back maybe for like a week or so. So much pressure now from School and being successful..Man..good times. Once again, sorry for your parents.
