  • What are the benefits of standing in front of the "whiteboard" and touching the screen, thus blocking the board's view from your students and getting the projection light in your eyes when you turn towards your class? This adds no real value over a "whiteboard" operated from a computer in the corner of the room somewhere. The only value I see here is probably the software, but you can accomplish these things with a browser and m.s. paint. Don't buy into technology all because it exists people.

  • these are more than awesome!!! Gotta get one for my class

  • heý_ÅNý_gûýs_wånt_t0_chât_wÍth_mÉ

  • Thanks for the video. I have to do a presentation based on the smartboard and it is cool to see it first hand.

  • First time i saw one of these. How come we didn't have them in my high school. class of 99'. Kids are spoiled these days with technology. ^.^

  • my school has hundreds of them!!!!!

  • We have one in our classroom - im 10 years old

its AWESOME you can also play games on it!!!

  • DONT DRAW ON THE SMART BOARD LOL.....

  • Are smart boards really physical to use? cuz guy here

is out of breathe for like the whole video.

  • nice

  • I want 2 write on a smartboard

  • I really wanna thank you for those informations

  • bought the luidia ebeam interactive version recently off ebay at a good price. its really a great device

  • nice kleenex comparison. its EXACTLY the same.

  • Cool way to keep these "Digital-natives" kids interested in the lesson.

  • i really want one in my room... SO EXPENSIVE

  • @WWEBUBBLE how much is it now?

  • @WWEBUBBLE Hey Bro good News you can make your own. I did it and it works. you need a wii controller and you need to make an interfered pen from a marker and a diode you get from radio shack, follow Johny lees instructions and you have to download the free whiteboard program from his web site and have lots of fun

    watch?v=5s5EvhHy7eQ

  • 4 of my teachers have that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!at MSA 1

  • what if you can't reach "X"? :D

  • @EdTheBadass if you cant reach, then you can do it on your computer and the students can still see it!! or u can use ur remote :)

  • hmm .. I am not well-informed about interactive whiteboards, but I am quite sure I have seen similar projects.

One particular I remember seeing on discovery Science few years ago, having the same results they have here.

So how is this project unique? Or is it just the same tech?

  • @EdTheBadass You can use a stick with a soft plastic tip. or with the Wii interactive white board, I sell a 28 1/2 inch long IR pen.

  • we have a smart board to its nice

  • My school Just got a SmartBoard and a Document cameras installed in every class. And A small tower commuter JUST for the Board so the teacher dosent have to give up his/her comp.

  • all of the math rooms in my school has one i like it a lot more than what we had last year and what all of the other class rooms have we have "ladybugs" or elmos in the science rooms

  • My school got 1 in like every room in it, they're cool, but, the laptops using the Smartboards are SO freaking slow! :(

  • I really want that in my room.

  • very good

    have 1 in our classroom

  • hint to earase it easier just circle what you wrote and then tap it in the middle were you circled

  • I cant see it as anything but a cheaper version of Microsoft's White Board. Quite useful and competitive anyway.

  • we have one in every single classroom at my high school. and we use them for everything from a simple whiteboard to watching videos to showing powerpoints to interacting with and writing notes on web pages.

  • Can you do it MINUS the projector via direct connection? The projector is the only thing that draws this back as I don't like the shadows and the darkened classroom

  • shit, I'd love this for my work. We're stuck with ol' projectors and powerpoint slides.

  • ok ! we've got only three interactives, no computer programmes to work with .

  • u know what would be funny is that if a child clicked on an innapropiate picture on there and can't reach the close button. that would be hilarious.

  • lol

  • my teacher has that. he lets us play with it

  • I LOVE THOSE! i have them in like almost every classroom of my school and they're really fun to use.

  • thanks, studying smart board technology, this video has been helpful. :)

  • I know how to make a smartboard from scatch

  • how?

  • Smart boards are the biggest waste of money ever, most teahcers dont even use the interactive side of them they are merely a £3000 surface to project on. I think the schol should invest their money somewhere else rather than these useless pieces of technology like buying decent projectors rather than the laughable dim, noisy, low resoulution hitachi ones they have.

  • They could be much more useful if teachers receive training and become aware of all of the interactive content that is out there on the web. Did you know that you can make an interactive white board for only about 80 bucks? Search for Wii Interactive whiteboard to learn how. If you save thousands on the touch-surface you can easily afford a more expensive projector.

  • Tom, it may be Really kinda cool. But so is The Matrix, and you wouldnt want your kids to be anywhere near that sort of world, would you?

As youre in social studies, it especially surprises me that you would endorse this. Retards may say its current functions are fairly innocuous. Thats beside the point - kids impressionable subconscious is being forced to accept this technology. So theyll accept its other uses! Mixing the fake and the real has been done before. Its called Deception.

  • Someone has a cold.

  • they really helped me get my phd from M.I.T I don't think I could've done it without it we really learnt physics well

  • We have smartboards in everyclass room of our school.

  • Jeez man! Can you breath?

  • One day, all four walls in the classroom will be interactive.

  • That has already happened, in a way. You can make any surface (table, wall, torso) interactive with a Wii remote and a digital projector (or just any laptop screen).

To see an example: search for videos of "jonny lee wii" -- very amazing.

  • Yeah thanks, very helpful to the third world.

  • Do your own homework, fag.

  • I work with dirt poor kids in Asia who don't have books or pencils.

Our whiteboard is a window with white paper stuck on the outside so I can write on the window with a marker pen and they can all see it. I'm thinking of patenting the idea. :)

The closest we get to it being interactive is when somebody opens the window!!! :)

  • You should try to convince your school to invest in ultra short throw projectors for your IWBs. They eliminate the shadow you're casting on the board.

  • my school has put one of these in every single classroom, and i think it's absolutely sooo much better than a regular ol' whiteboard =D

try playing "Line rider" on this xD it's amazing haha

  • we use this BULLCRAP in school and i can asure you it SUCKS you cant write that good on it its fucking waste of money

  • I have no problem writing on one... must be because I took the time to learn how to use it instead of instantly dismissing it.

  • wow u must be very ungreatful if a peice of technology this advanced isnt good enough for you.

  • Technology will never be good enough for human.

  • thats right...

  • My school owns over 200 and i got one for x mas not a big one like my school has but one like his

  • I want one.

  • Another awesome product...which increases our electricity usage unnecessarily.

  • Look at the Eno board from Polyvision, I doesn't use any electricity!

  • Good point.

  • Omg my school hasnt any of theese, I think no schools in norway got it even toguh we are one of the richest country in the world and it only lives 4,7 million people here...... norwegian government dosn't spend any money on schools , buildings ,cleaning nothing they just put in their ass and say they are going to need it in the future :S

  • i have one in my science and math room if i had t he money id get one

  • we have one in like almost every class but there ae like 800 kids in our school lol

  • ya us to i love those but i had to switch schools and my new school is to poor to afford them

  • This was really helpful for my assignment! I couldn't really grasp the concept of SMARTBoards before, but now they don't seem as daunting (:

  • we have them in all of the science classes in my school, they're pretty cool!

  • The interactive whiteboard by itself is a great piece of equipment, but use it with an interactive software and you have an awesome teaching tool. Discover how you can use the interactive math software from kidsmathsoftware. com to teach math concepts to kids. Teachers can create customized math lessons and worksheets on the fly to suit any lesson plan.
