I have a list of window handles to top level windows and I want to shift them around so they are arranged in the z-order of my choosing. I started off by iterating the list (with the window I want to end up on top last), calling SetForegroundWindow on each one. This seemed to work some of the time but not always, improving a little when I paused slightly in between each call.
hey bucky!!..i love you and im not gay...thnx fr being such an incredible teacher..wish all the best for the future..bless u mate :)))))))))))))))))))
thank you bucky your tutorials are amazing, you have been a great help for all of us, if you have time please we would like some c++ game development tutorials, thank you again for everything
Finally a true beginner at c++ THANK YOU SO MUCH BUCKY!!! You made me continue with c++, without you I wouldn't be able to do what I love, programming :)
Thumbs up for the best programming teacher on YouTube. BUCKY ROBERTS!
@moeezk7 code will be the same but i wouldn't recommend his tutorials, find yourself a nice online tutorial(learncpp or cplusplus come to mind) make sure you understand OO concepts and pointers :)
@moeezk7 yes, the express edition is absolutely fine :) i personally like visual studio and it also works with wxwidgets. Generally those gui library are cross platform and work on pretty much any compiler. Use whatever you like to use, if you like Code::Blocks and gwen you can use that, it's a matter of preference :)
I can send you my base files to get you started with gwen if you want, just send me a pm
You can use all of these in any ide, in fact you could make guis in notepad. Visual studio has a designer for gui that generates code for you(but it sucks imo). For GWEN there is no form designer but a few things that make controls a bit easier. The skinning system is also quite nice. For wxwidgets there is a code::blocks form designer(wxSmith iirc) and i'm sure QT has something like that too. I personally use Visual Studio + GWEN because i like intelliSense.
@moeezk7 that's wrong. You can make these programs in any IDE, visual studio has an editor that makes it easier. You just use WinAPI functions to create stuff. If you don't like the way the winapi gui works you can always use a different api such as GWEN(requires a bit of work at first but very easy afterwards), wxwidgets, QT and many others.
I finished. I'm proud of myself. While waiting for the Game developement tuts I'll watch your other videos and read "Accelerated C++" by Andrew Koenig. Hey Bucky, can you recommend me any good books for c++? Thanks.
@DeuceisLegit You've watched ALL of the vids?!? Good 4 you, you should be proud. I'm in the process of watching them too. I'm on #20 or #21 I think. I just happened to look at these last 3 on Strings just to see what the last vids were like. . .I'm taking my time, making sure I understand EVERYTHING before I move on. I have no, nada, 0, programming exp, so taking it slow.
@moeezk7 Wow no offense but a GUI has nothing to do with "Powerfulness". Allow me to explain.
Ok lets say I make a complicated program. Doesn't matter what it does but it is complicated and useful.
Next I need a nice GUI to go with it to make it easy to use. The GUI doesn't do anything it is just a front end to your powerful application. It just makes it look nicer. I mean no ridicule just wanted to help.
@moeezk7 These tutorials are by no means all you can do with C++. Bucky is simply introducing to you all the tools you can use to make all the fancy stuff you obviously want to make. If you want to make a program with a GUI or a program that does something "usefull" go buy (or torrent) a book with practice problems and GUI examples or better yet, think and plan out a program for yourself! :)
Awsome series you have here bucky, but i was wondering, if you have watched them all (wich i haven't yet) and know all of this stuff about console programming, whats the next step then to start programming programs that have a graphical user interface, couse i get confused on that point, since all beginner c++ programming tutorials i find here on youtube are about console applications.
Or is that point covered in your advanced c++ series?
woah I can't believe I'm almost thru with basic c++ because I'm already in 57th tutorial ... the reason why I got here is because I was wondering when the c++ tutorials gonna end...
I am so very happy bucky that you taught many students with your tutorial, Thank You Very Much hope you'll never change...
Bucky pls do not abandon c++ and make an Advanced series...I mean you can start teaching 3ds max but meanwhile upload some advanced c++ PLS. I owe you my life btw :D
no joke, the second exams are over, i am learning C++, the only thing which stopped me before is that you're videos only went to like, 25, but now, nothing can stop me.
Bucky, I sure hope you are making money off this through ads, because your tutorials are terrific and since you are hiring people to make these, I realize you are making somewhat of an investment.
This is the last video in my beginner series. Every topic after this is rather advanced. I am now moving on to game development using C++.
