  • This list is incredibly incomplete. You can't use Phantom of the Opera because it started as a musical. There wasn't a single reference to Bernard Hermann (Alfred Hitchcock), Basil Poledouris (Conan, Red October), Howard Shore (The Fly, Ed Wood, Silence of the Lambs, Lord of the Rings) or Jerry Goldsmith (Planet of the Apes 1967, Patton, The Omen, Alien). I call BS!

  • What about all of hans zimmer's master pieces like gladiator, and of course the lord of the rings soundtrack. I'm also very surprised thAt the graduate isn't on here too. The rest is great though. Good taste!

  • number 9 should be much higher imo.

  • How could you forget Matrix - Clubbed to death ?! :O

  • you do realize that that song is not the original version in requiem for a dream right?

  • this is halloween! yeah :D

  • Honesty; Your nr. 2 is 1000 times better than your nr. 1!!!!

  • what's the name of the song of 28 DAYS LATER? I can't find it

  • I cannot believe you don't have The Good the Bad and the Ugly on here... or any soundtracks from the trilogy!

  • Great taste in movies also!

  • What is the Name of the last Song ?

  • #10 was also used in "Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World", my favorite movie. :)

  • @TheChaosqueen1997 its lux aeterna

  • What's the name of #1?!

    NEED IT! ;O

  • Wish I had this on a CD or MP3 but alas I don't know how to do that. Varied choice, I like it. Ta.

  • what no last of the mohicans? ( yes i know i cant spell lol)

  • it seems to me like lux aeterna is always number one :D

  • What's the name of the song from Vanilla Sky - no. 15?

  • In my opinion I don't think a great soundtrack is what sounds the best, or has the best songs. A great movie soundtrack is what conveys the emotion, or message of the scene without clear explanation, or direction. If a song/score can do that, it's a good soundtrack.

  • dude you have the best taste in movies & music! it's a pitty i don't know, otherwise i'd marry you!

  • Missed Pixies from Fight Club :P

  • #1 please?

  • What's the name of #4? Which version of "This is Halloween?

  • ET?????

  • @ferret630 Yeah, it's grouped with # 3. Which is John Williams. It's a really memorable theme. What's wrong with that?

  • its a very good list but but BUT... u forgot about "ecstasy for gold" in The good, the bad and the ugly!! ma fav movie soundtrack ever! sad face. :( :P lol but yeah still man good job :)

  • #1 Please?

  • @proeatr16 #1 was composed by Clint Mansell for the film Requiem for a Dream. He wrote it very much like a classical composer would. Meaning, he uses different variations of the same melody in different parts of the film. So, there are several different versions of that song. The most popular version is called "Lux Aeterna". Then there are softer versions like "Summer Overture". There are also a lot of remixes. The one in my video is called "Requiem For A Tower Movement II-IV"

  • @AxisMundy Do you really prefer this bombastic, synthasized Two Towers trailer version over the original? It's so overrated, in my opinion.

I like the fact that you included some classical music as well (Mozart, R. Strauss, Purcell, and Bach – my personal favorite – even though it's kind of funny that you chose a cello piece by Bach from a movie with Chopin piano music as the big thing).

Good job, by the way. It's always nice to listen to lists, since you re-discover so much music.

  • @proeatr16 Lord of the Rings - Two Towers (Requiem for a Dream mix)

  • thanks =) i like that song =)

  • what's the name of #24 ?

  • @SteffimaqihreFreunde Mad World by Gary Jules.

  • whats the name of #22?

  • @DirDProductions1 The song is called "Tangerine" by Led Zeppelin. There are a few different versions of that song in Almost Famous.

  • Mindless. Typical uneducated, ill informed contempory world.

Do you know nothing of Max Steiner, Of Miklos Rozsa?

Not to mention Nino Rota and many others.

  • ehem the italian job? anybody?

  • Nice soundrtrack! But you don't like Narnia?

  • @themysticalirishwolf Yeah. I made this quite a while ago. I forgot a so many great ones. I would also change the order and take some out if I were to do it again.

  • @AxisMundy I't s ok don't worry. Tastes change. I descovered lotts of good soundtracks and films with your video. I might buy them! Thanks :)

  • @AxisMundy Shure, it's OK, tastes change with time. I remember liking something two years ago that I hate now. But shure if you doa "best movie soundtracks" again, I'll watch it! :)

  • jurassic parks soundtrack is the best

  • Many of these are great soundtracks. I´ve listened to quite a few, but there´s honestly only one that cathes my interest and concentration right from the start and holds it throughout the whole piece. And THAT is the 7:57 end theme from Jurassic Park. It never won the best original soundtrack Oscar award because of the only reason acceptable to me; Willims had composed the Schindler´s List theme that same year!

  • and the name of the 24th soundtrack is?

  • #24 ?

  • i´d like to know it too...

  • Matrix and The rock soundtracks are good too.

  • Magnificent 7 Soundtrack is also pretty good as is the Godfather Soundtrack :)

  • Sorry, I forgot the name of song #24:D

could someone pls tell me?? i know, i can't remember:D

  • if it had ennio morricone, thomas newman and hans zimmer, this would be flawless

  • 5:07 Bitte Bitte Wie heist der Song

  • Mad World.

  • John Williams is the best!!!!!!!!

  • Pulp Fiction <3 :D

  • wow i really got goose bumps when the number one suddenly appeared! what a masterpiece of music!

i miss the theme from gilbert grape though... wonderful chilling theme :)

and did you know the #13 (space odyssey) is used for a beer commercial in germany? :D for several years now :D

  • pulp fiction's st only #9! wot about platoon's adaggio strings?

  • Not so good lol

  • Requiem for a dream is best song ever

  • yeppppppp ;) requiem for a dream ;)

  • the hells wrong wit u?? MAN ON FIRE!!!!

  • dramteams

danny elfman & tim burton & johnny depp

    steven spielberg & john willims

  • Horrible list. Only decent ones are the one from 28 Days Later and Requiem for a Dream.

  • i liked

    17, 14, 13, 10, 9, 8, 6, 1

and the first one that you start the video with from fight club.

  • what was the very first song played?

  • It's called "Stealing Fat" by The Dust Brothers

  • As soon as I saw Across The Universe on this list I stopped watching. Thanks for putting it close to the beginning.

  • haha. no problem

  • It's not best original soundtracks. It's best soundtracks. The Forrest Gump soundtrack is a 2 disc set that includes Elvis, CCR, Dylan, Joan Baez, The Doors, Aretha Franklin, Beach Boys, Jefferson Airplane, and Simon and Garfunkel to name a few.

  • I don't get that. Why Elvis for Forrest Gump? It's Alan Silvestri's theme for Forrest Gump!

  • Hooray for the Time Warp, High Fidelity, Danny Elfman, Phantom of the Opera, and Requiem for a Dream. <3

    Ew for everything else.

And when it comes to Titanic, the movie is a bit overrated, but the soundtrack is awesome.

  • Love the Blues Brothers!

  • Nah, I agree with Axis Mundy- Titanic was pretty gay.

  • First: Titanic doen't sucks!!!!

Two: At last 'Phantom of The Opera' is with a list!!!

  • Wo ist Fluch der Karibik ?^^

  • Yes, I completely forgot The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Dammit.

  • the best list on youtube. did he forget the good the bad and the ugly?

  • good no. one but needs the final test saw lll.... all others good
