This craft is not a prototype of a future helicopter. It was used for research and development so the emerging technology could be use on future Sikorskys. I worked for them and I've seen this ship in person. There is a ship which closely resembles this one but the bulk of the technology that will come out of this research will be used on most of the Sikorskys S76, S92, and Blackhawks. It is the fastest helicopter to date though.
it's good to see Americans still trying to be the technical innovators we've proven to be instead of the 'obese lazy big-mac eating fatfucks with a sense of entitlement' that we've been for the last 20 years.
@vladdrac88 Who is actual polish, while lazy russians just didn't need him.
russia sucks hard, as always, but keep telling to it's citizens about rotting america and some new shit russians made that brake itself even without human's help.
@nuclearthreat545 You show what little you know. the Coaxial helicopter design has been used for a long time by the Russian's, and has replaced standard single rotor heli's as the norm for Russian Military Attack choppers, and Emergency evac. choppers. The coaxial design allows each of the two main rotors to cancel out the angular momentum of the of the other, leaving the helicopter well over twice as stable as as standard heli's. Coaxials have proven the safest helicopter in flight today.
@owensjs2 Yes I am surprised not many people appear to know what you have stated. Kamov have been building Co-axials since the late 1940's, Latest models are the Ka-50 and Ka-52.
Sick-orky must be very proud

I could see these being made smaller for a more personal usage and more affordable,like ultra-lite sized.

@jonnyasprin
the materials used to build this thing is not affordable. Blades are insanely expensive and it must have fly by wire also.
Dont think you will ever see a helicopter with this technology for less than 5million bucks.
