  • i love trey but you fucking idiots need to realize kirk was clearly his influence just listen to his solo here u dumbfucks

  • fuck ya, rock on cliff

  • On June 5 1986 metallica was playing south texas (headlining), that was when ozzy left for Japan. This is when ozzy came back from touring Japan.

  • this was played on my birthday AWESOME!!!!!!! RIP CLIFF

  • I was at this concert. Still have my ticket stub.

  • I wish I could born in 80's America and see Cliif playin' on stage!!!

  • no no no the late 60's so that way you'd be a teenager in the 80's.

  • I was age 15 at that time and was actually at this performance,June 14th,1986.They were opening for OZZY.He was on the Ultimate Sin tour.Great show.

In my opinion Metallica sort of died with Cliff. I still respect them, but they haven't made anything as good as Ride The Lightning or Master Of Puppets since.

  • I was there too..Was in high school working as an usher at the Long Beach Arena...never heard of these guys until that show.....I was a big Ozzy fan at that point but quickly became a Metallica fan

  • this is the thing that should not be

  • James voice is sick here

    cool as performance too

  • Last post was suppose to be a reply to the another comment about the guy dying, but it didn't go below it. A little more detail, so I thought I'd leave it.

  • yeah what's going on lately with youtube replies?

  • nothing! XD

  • I was at this concert!! First of 6 times I've seen them... and might have been the best! Blew Ozzy away... I'm sure he grew tired of coming on after them- ha ha. I was in the first row of the balcony right above where this picture was taken. Guy died right behind this pic as well trying to jump from the balcony to the grandstand below. Of course the press blamed it on Ozzy (suicide BS), but it happened when Metallica was on stage.

  • fuck yeah ! thasts a gr8 song ^^

    metallica rules the world !

    R.I.P CLIFF

  • "In madness You dwell,dwell,dwell"

  • great version!!! thankyou for posting!

  • "In madness You dwell,dwell,dwell"

  • the solo sounds like trey azagthoth

  • you mean trey azagthoth's solos sounds like this solo.

  • Metallica was allways the best and be 4ever!!

    \m/(^_^)\m/

  • on my birthday a few years earlier...

  • great and creepy version..mm

  • the heavyest metallica ever made.

  • I saw Ozzy back in December of '07 and he really SUCKS now a days. Rob Zombie was WAAAAAYYYY better that night.

  • pwned haha :)

thanks for sharing this btw. this is imba.

  • Fuck! You must be in the age of fourty or something. And you still love metal right? That's respect guys! I wish I could be born way earlier, and be a part of the big wave of these metal bands.

  • I know. I feel the same way. I feel like I've been cheated, being born in this shitty age, right after the deaths of some great bands... vidzrus, you lucky bastard. XD

  • Yes, i was there for the 14th and the 15th. I actually ended up front row standing on a broken chair. Ozzy was in rare form as well. On one of the 3 nights some kid died by jumping off the balcony, i dont know if anybody remember that.

  • Hey, just put this in my comment as well about the guy dying... I was in the balcony 1st row right above where this picture was taken. Three or four seats from the aisle where the guy jumped from, saw him lying on the ground for several minutes with blood around his head before anyone got to him. Sad. Then the press blamed it on Ozzy... the whole suicide thing. Ridiculous, it happened when Metallica was playing.

  • they blamed the suicide thing when on when the kid was listeintg to an ozzy song

  • I went to this concert at the Long Beach arena the next day, sunday june 15.Still got the old ticket stub. The ticket stub reads.. "OZZY OSBOURNE with special guest METALLICA"..only paid $17.50 for the ticket. There was a group of guys who brought in those little red firecrackers and were lighting a whole sections at a time and throwing them into the crowd below when metallica started playing..I thought it was hilarious at the time..

  • dcv283-Thanks for the great comment.

I remember the fireworks...I also remember chairs getting smashed.

$17.50.....Now that show would be $99.95 today! lol

  • Hey thanks vidzrus,I dont remember the chairs getting smashed although I remember getting smashed, that's for sure..lol..Those were the days!! thanks take care..debbie

  • yea

  • What a bass!

  • Fucking GREAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!

  • I saw this tour in 1986 at the Las Vegas Thomas & Mack Center...fvcking rich!!

  • fuuuck id kill to go to an old metallica show!!

  • damn strait.

  • who wouldnt!

  • HOLY FUCK IN LONG BEACH THATS WHERE I LIVE but this is a long time ago

  • OMG, sounds like like, i don't know how to say it... only fucking great!

  • Best performance of this song ever!

  • Thingy was always a awesome song!

Definately was one of the heaviest of it's day.

Down tuning the guitar is awesome!

  • Damn, this makes the grade. Fuckin awesome!!!

Y'know, that's what made Metallica - the aggression.

I wish they would get angry again, they're like so lovey with the crowd. Back in the day Hetfield would be all fuck - shit - fuck this - motherfucker.

Now it's all "We love you, this feels great"

I mean i'm sure it does, but shit, metal was about aggression. Fuck shit motherfucker!!!!

  • ZombieChris, you must be forgetting that most of them have kids, and thats not a real good thing to be teaching your kids.

  • Haha I think it IS a good thing to teach them XD, no seriously, you're right.

  • I saw something on youtube w/ James recently saying shit like "I don't know what happened to us..." hahaha! "I don't know why we do the things we do..." "It's not the same any more"

  • He grew up, but yeah, he was much cooler back in the days!

  • whata hard act to follow

  • Holy FUCK! I was at this show! I have always wanted to see footage or at least hear this. Not only did they not play this the first night, this was the FIRST time they ever played the song live. I distinctly remember Hetfield saying that. Thanks for the post!

  • Cool. The Thing That Should Not Be!

  • oh yeah it was pure mahem, people were running back and forth, along the ailways with half spilled beers or banging there heads on the bars,i think the best way to describe it,"EARTHQUAKE"this concert created security jobs at long beach ,thanks for the memories!

  • Audio was a little bad, and we didn't see a performance, but I gave it five stars anyway for hearing live material during the Burton-era.

  • i know wut u mean its awesome
