That's true, but then, the movie totally branches away from the game when Haseo is actually defeated by Alkaid instead of being able to use his Avatar to 'cheat' and win the fight the same way Endrance did. So beyond that, I'd say that the storyline has nothing to do with the game's storyline, though they both come to the same end result....in a way.

@kazeihitaru this is the movie called dot hack//gu trilogy, it sorta just retells what happens in the game, in my opinion this was the only good part aside from the scene when atoli gets possesed by aida. if i were you i'd see if your local library has it because its pretty much rushing through the 1-3 game, it doesnt even have a fight with sakaki or endrance and sakubo, zelcova, cubia, silibus and gaspard dont appear in it, so i wouldnt buy it if you can avoid that. still just an opinion

@meirus You have to take into acount in the game you have two party members , and or potions and items. Plus Your controlling Haseo in essence giving him some conscious thought . In what we see here is is his rage and anger taking over , so even if he was extremely strong and could be on par with Ovan (Tri -Edge) , Ovan could outsmart him multiple times over.

I never did watch .hack//ROOTS all the way through, but it's my understanding that AIDA was putting people into comas and Azure Kite was trying to put a stop to AIDA, and thus Ovan as well since he was 'assisting' AIDA, alongside Azure Balmung and Azure Orca.

Actually Ovan was reading a story to his little sister Aina when AIDA came and tried to attack her. He protected her but in the end got infected, resulting in him attacking his sister and sending her into a coma. When Aura realized that a new threat had entered the world, she created the Azure Knights from the remnants of Kite, Balmung, and Orca's characters. Their main priority was to eliminate the AIDA threat.

The "true" Tri-Edge is Ovan, not Azure Kite (who Haseo mistook for Tri-Edge at first). Tri-Edge is the AIDA arm that's sticking out of his left arm - he uses that as well as the two blades he wields to form the SIGN.
