Espectacular, clasico de clasicos de soul and disco music!!Hoy, noche de la nostalgia en Uruguay, no faltara, junto al clasico de Kool and the Gang,Ladies Night!!! Enjoy this music!!! The best !!!!!!
ook i learn my first Rhythm Guitar spin form this song!! thanks Joe fal..st gregorys Lagos Nigeria along with Mr. Inyang Drummer..how about Ezekiel? and Austin Ilukhor?? my boys wher are ya??? this is Austin!! (Dotun)
I remember this as a big floor filler, then Kool & the Gang did "Ladies Night", which I thought was a rip-off musically of this song, and this song kinda faded away in the clubs....was a real damn shame...
when i was a kid we used to think they were saying eni meni mini moe. damn i love the black skin im in!!! this songalso came out when they were trying to kill disco REMEMBER THAT RAPPERS BEWARE
block parties and house parties!!! i was a pre-teen when this came out and i remember my parents, aunts, uncles all jamming to this, and us kids (wanting to be grown) were getting down too!!
Kids don't understand great music. Why waste your time. Kids are listening to untalented people like slim shady. Some punk who needs a belt and my fist.
1580 KDAY in Santa Monica used to love this song when it first came out. It played at 5:45 in the morning, it played at 9:00 at night, 12:30. We liked it too, but not that much.
Who in here were loyal KDAY listeners around 1985-1986? Also, who remembers the actual instrumental version they used to play of Captain Rapp before the original version was ever played?
I was in Cali at that time, anytime I was in the LA area, i used to listen to KDAY...coming from NY it was amazing to hear hip hop being played all day long like that...
Kool. I'm trying to find a couple of songs I only heard on KDAY. I kinda lost touch with all my old comrades from my youth who I know would know. Some song called "Rescue Me" from 1986 and the Bad Times instrumental version by Captain Rapp. Not the instrumental of the vocal version but a dub-like version.
sorry, can't help you with any of those...were they LA artists? my joint out there was the Batter Ram by Toddy Tee..I was stationed with some cats from Compton, and they definitely exposed me to those LA artists that were tearing it up back then...
I listened to kday, but also in san diego so I was a evening listener so I can't help you.Whatever happened to 1580 kday, by the way. All we get now is a country station that's a pain in the ass from tucson here in dago at night.
This is the extended that MuzicMan1967 posted. MusicMan posted a single edit of "You Can Do It" on different pressings like the ABC and MCA label. It was originally released on the ABC label and later released on MCA, because MCA took over ABC, because the label bought out. That's why ABC records went out of business, but the ABC name still remains as a TV network as well and it is still a parent company of Disney.
I guess that Al Hudson & the Partners' "You Can Do It" was the last single for ABC Records until the label finally took over and it was later released on MCA after it was bought out. There you go.
Love...love...love

Agreed. Plus the rhythm track of Ladies' Night by Kool and the Gang. You could play all three simultaneously and get a very listenable result.
