It was more about how generation x failed, and the low expectations we all have. I should know...I'm one of them :)

The movie probably wasn't so romantic to some people. I personally liked the movie because it is meant to be romantic for those that can fit in Greenberg's shoes. Believe it or not, there are people like him out there.
The ending gave an unfinished feel, like his life would move on from that moment. Those who saw the ending would know how the girl would've reacted anyway. Why is every plot in movies these days expected to be so completed? Popular movies underrate the quieter moments in life.
It's amazing how much emphasis is put on how "unlikeable" Ben Stiller's character is and how "depressing" this movie is. This strikes me as very feeble-minded. There's much more to the movie than that; it's not what the film is about. I saw the film and Noah Baumbach takes a very clear-eyed, empathetic look at real people struggling to get hold of their purpose in life. Greenberg is a guy in his forties who squandered his potential because of his own character flaws. I've met people like this.
@dodadue89 trailer is deceiving. There is nothing romantic about this film and he whole point of it is about how UNLIKEABLE Stillers character really is. This film made me really uncomfortable, but it could've just been Stiller's hair.

Gorgeous, lush, romantic, mysterious, painful, daunting, creative - these are the words that come to mind. This was the most compelling I've ever seen him, and you could tell he had learned his magic well, as his hands moved with fluid precision. Come and see it at kookíca, really magic movie.

Turns out Hollywood can indeed make films entertaining to modern audiences without sex, violence or, for that matter, buffoonish bathtroom humor or depressing angsty drama-- apparently it just takes some creativity and good story-telling. Great movie-- see it on kookíca and you'll leave it happy!

very introspective film....i liked it a lot...i'm usually into films that makes you think about life...for me the film was about "coming to terms with a life you hadn't expected".
If you are not into this kind of thing or prefer comedy that hits you on the head with a stick, steer well clear!

The movie probably wasn't so romantic to some people. I personally liked the movie because it is meant to be romantic for those that can fit in Greenberg's shoes. Believe it or not, there are people like him out there.
The ending gave an unfinished feel, like his life would move on from that moment. Those who saw the ending would know how the girl would've reacted anyway. Why is every plot in movies these days expected to be so completed? Popular movies underrate the quieter moments in life.

It's amazing how much emphasis is put on how "unlikeable" Ben Stiller's character is and how "depressing" this movie is. This strikes me as very feeble-minded. There's much more to the movie than that; it's not what the film is about. I saw the film and Noah Baumbach takes a very clear-eyed, empathetic look at real people struggling to get hold of their purpose in life. Greenberg is a guy in his forties who squandered his potential because of his own character flaws. I've met people like this.
